I do a good amount of traveling in the states and abroad. This is some of the best American food I have had. The appetizer of bruschetta was wonderful. Made with strawberries instead of tomatoes I didn't think I would like it. But I got it anyway. The combination of the fresh made mozzarella and the strawberries was wonderful. I had to wait a little bit for my main course of pot roast, so the chef himself brought me out two of their deviled eggs. The best I have ever had. And the main course of pot roast was out of this world. The best I have ever had. I should also mention that the bartender knows his stuff and made a great Mohito. The next time I am in DC I will definitely be at firefly.
Great place! Brendon the bartender makes out of this world craft cocktails! So so yummy! Highly recommend as a great place to start your night with a cocktail you won't find anywhere else!
Good comfort food presented beautifully. Good place to please those picky along with those who want something different. The cookie decorating for the kiddos was a cute touch. The entrees and drinks are on the pricey side, so if you are trying to keep the cost down, go with the apps or sides, which are reasonably priced especially for the generous portion.
Fantastic food and really chill ambiance. The buttermilk chess pie is worth every bite. Ask for Michael, he is an excellent server!
love the fact that they gave my boys two cookie to decorate and bake them for dessert. food is delicious, and the service is wonderful. when you need the server, he is always around. but never interrupted our conversation!

My husband and I had our anniversary dinner there last night and various staff members wished us happy anniversary through the course of our meal. The food was great too - we can't wait to go again!

Firefly is attached to the hotel. Came here with a few coworkers for an early Xmas happy hour celebration. Service was fantastic and attentive, rather rare in this part of the city given how small and busy most of the restaurants can be. Food was delicious and portion sizes were perfectly sized. Will come back again to check out their next seasonal menu and drinks.
Heard about this cool restaurant that had a "tree" inside of it. Unfortunately, that tree is no longer there, but it offers an assortment of American dishes and brunch options. Dinner can be pricier, so we opted for brunch. Their fried chicken & waffles and parmesan truffle fries were delicious. I haven't had such flavorful truffle fries in a long time and this is a great spot for it.
The space is very homey and reminiscent of a cafe. Around springtime, they decorated with lots of cherry blossoms and there was a cute swing outside for pictures.
It took us a little bit to get seated as there was no host(ess) at the door, but once we got seated, the staff were very friendly.

Really awesome brunch place. We had the avocado toast and a fruit bowl. They just make everything so delicious adding some additional ingredients here and there. The fruit bowl had honey toasted coconut - the avocado toast also had some unusual stuff in there and tasted incredible. Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch
I had Sunday morning brunch here with a few friends. Staff was friendly and seated us quickly. Service was quick and wait staff/busers tended to our table constantly.
We ordered the chicken and waffles, eggs benedict and corn beef hash. Overall, the food was satisfying. My only critique would be the chicken was a bit dry and the corn beef hash was a small portion for the price.
Would recommend, just reserve before noon because the place fills up quickly.
I went there with my friend for brunch. The place is lovely, the food was AMAZING, and prices were kinda reasonable. However, we were waiting for almost 10mins and nobody showed up to welcome us or show us our table. Yes, we didn’t reserve a table, but there was an empty table where we later on used. The service later got better, and for sure we will visit the place again.
This restaurant is attached to the Madera hotel. They actually make a very good espresso here. It was quite impressive for not being a coffee shop. I purchased an egg white veggie omelette. I am allergic to the rice unfortunately so instead of giving me toast, they gave me a little salad without me even asking. That was super amazing and made my whole day. It was delicious. The other people in my party, purchased berry, waffles, and breakfast sandwiches. They all enjoyed it.
If you're in a hurry, this probably isn't the best place to go.
This is a basic restaurant with something for everyone.
One last thing this place has the most beautiful bathroom I think I’ve ever seen. So really great artwork in there. Nice and clean too.
Fun restaurant with great food and cocktails. Good value and the cocktails really are inventive and delicious. I particularly like the Elk Women cocktail. Service was slow and not super attentive.

Easy to find the place but parking will be tricky in the area. Give yourself some time to find it ahead of the reservation.
It is good to have reservations, if not there will be accommodation for walk-ins during non-peak hours.
Ambiance is nice, seats are well cushioned, tables heights are decent but atmosphere is slightly noisier.
Staff and service is excellent. Food is decent, the taste won’t wow you but cooking methods and attention to details is good definitely noticeable. Overall it will leave you satisfied.
Breakfast menu will be available earlier in the morning. Brunch tentatively starts around 10-10.30am.
Signature cocktail are decent but Great-great coffee. Everything on the morning fuel is excellent. I liked the espresso martini the most.
Brioche French toast toast nice but I was slightly surprised by the value proposition of this dish. Corned beef hash, firefly burger, eggs Benedict, all are nice. I really liked the way they cooked eggs to perfection in Benedict. Sides are good.
A good experience overall but only coffee will drive me to visit it again.
Went to this beautiful place for brunch on a Sunday. The food was a whole new level of excitement! Presentation and quality of the food and the good ambience set the right tone for the weekend. But the only setback was the price. We had an Egg frittata, chicken and waffles and Egg Benedict-crab ( the chef special) and it cost us 70$. A great place to grab finger food in a cute setting !
Fabulous dinner with our kids. The restaurant staff, especially the manager, made our evening super fun for our kids! And enjoyable for us as we sipped on delicious cocktails and yummy food!! We haven’t all laughed that much in awhile. It was much needed after a busy day in DC!!! Thank you!!!!
I went last night with my friend and our experience was beyond our expectations! We had two amazing cocktails, I got the “Check your float ability” that came in a bath tube and it was more than I expected. Our bartender Georgi was amazing, he took care of us and made our experience GREAT!
We had a rare parent night out and stopped for drinks here. The special cocktails were amazing! Presentation was amazing. Very yummy and the ambiance was wonderful.
I loved, loved, loved my food. I ordered the salmon with poach eggs (cooked for me). My friend ordered a burger and fries.
Tried Firefly last night for the first time and we had a BLAST! We sat at the bar and Georgi took care of my friend and me. He was EXCELLENT, super friendly and nice and recommended the best cocktails! My friend had a vodka one that came in a mini bath tube (super fun and cute) and I had the “monkey business” one which had a Monkey printed on top! SOOO NICE.

The restaurant has changed a lot since the last time I was here! Really friendly staff and nice ambiance! My favorite was the peanut butter and jelly French toast with the jalapeño honey! It’s an Interesting combo but I really liked it. Our server recommended a really yummy mocktail! The food was a little pricey so I’m not sure if I’ll be visiting again any time soon, but the dishes were innovative and delicious.
I arranged a family dinner here on November 3rd for 26 people. Everything was perfect. The service was fast and friendly and I heard so many compliments ftom my guests on how goot the food was. It was a perfect evening and experience. Thank you to all the staff for making it a special evening for everyone !
I have only ever had breakfast here, but it is consistently good. They put an emphasis on fresh ingredients and a changing menu. The staff works their butts off and are always so sweet. Service can be a little slow but That’s the kitchen. The decor is cool. I really like the rustic feel with a modern twist. I will someday try a meal other than breakfast, but I usually get in late and have eaten on the way. If you’re going for breakfast I highly recommend the french toast. It is my favorite but I can’t eat it every time because it is decadent. The eggs are great too. It’s usually not too crowded in the mornings. I think you’ll like it.
Wonderful food, amazing service, beautiful interior, pleasant vibe. A bit pricey for brunch but worth it. I wish more tables outside had umbrellas for shades but even then the experience was memorable.
