La Tomate - Washington DC - Photo album

Stumbled upon this place while in the area and was pleasantly surprised with the entire meal, service, and ambiance. We tried the arancini which were tasty. I wish there was a bit more sauce on the plate more than the decoration so I could actually taste it with the dish. I got the cacio e pepe, b
Really great Italian place with unique dishes. I highly recommend the calamari which deviated from the rinse and repeat fried calamari you can find elsewhere. Also the lobster pasta was incredibly flavorful and aromatic.
As a St Louis native, I love good Italian food and it’s always interesting to visit other cities to see where they set the bar. La Tomate does an all around good job and the food was very good. The decor was nice but not noteworthy. Service was great. Would be happy to go back, but will keep lookin
My dish, Cavatelli, Ricotta, Salsiccia E Broccoli, was wonderful and recommended to me by the staff. I had not been to this restaurant for many years and I was happy that the food and service was still exceptional! I will visit them again soon!
Perfect spot off Dupont Circle for a Sunday brunch. Shady outside seats were well attended by the staff. Food was great....gracie mille!
I have been wanting to try this place for the past 10 years and I kept forgetting to go when I was actually hungry. I digress, they held our table even though we were over 20 minutes late. The place is fine and they're clearly understaffed but the good was good! We got the Bolognese, cacio pepi, add
I had an excellent meal at La Tomate! A friend and I shared the arancini, which was delicious, and both got pasta dishes. My cacio e pepe was superb - perfectly al dente pasta and super flavorful (the poached egg on top was an excellent touch). Presentation was beautiful and was backed up with flavo
I've patronized this restaurant for lunch and dinner many times, but recently I tried their endless Italian brunch and it was awesome. Their dining ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. The service was excellent and the owner is such a lovely woman (also black woman owned business). If you love fin
Authentic Italian. Delicious prosciutto platter. Cute outside dining. The hostess wasn't the friendliest when we walked in, but we didn't let that bother us too much. We aren't neighborhood regulars and this seems like that kind of place. Waiter was pleasant and fairly attentive though. Delicious sq
We called in to order the Groupon four-course for four people for pickup. The whole bag was ready in about 30 minutes. It was average busy for lunch the day before the Thanksgiving long weekend. The dishes were still warm after another 30 minutes of driving to work. We expected four with some olive
Ambience was terrific, location is excellent, table service was professional and respectful, wine list was interesting and food itelf very tasty. However, we were disappointed with the way they handled my need for gluten, soy and dairy -free food, despite calling to investigate before making a reser
Lovely Italian spot in Dupont. Service is good. For those who like to be frugal the Mon-Fri 11am-3pm menu is best. You MUST specify BEFORE you begin to order that you are doing the 3 course meal option otherwise you will be charged a la carte (individually paying for each item) which will be more ex
I held a party last week at La Tomate for my staff and it was a lovely experience. The food was wonderful--the sea scallops and the lamb chops were a few of our favorites--however even better than that was the kind, attentive service and the view out onto Connecticut Avenue. The owner and her team
Great Italian Restaurant! Atmosphere and Ambiance is neat, comfortable and elegant. The restaurant appears super clean. Servers are pleasant, communicative, efficient and knowledgeable. The wine recommendation was great! And most importantly the food is nicely presented, taste was delicious to a goo
We went all out here with appetizers and dessert and had a really lovely meal. The prosciutto and cheese selections were exceptional and the homemade pastas are really good. I had cacio e pepe and my sister had the ravioli- both full of flavor and well prepared. I would definitely recommend this pla
I've been wanting to try this resturant for years and finally tonight my wish cane true. La Tomate certainly lived up to my expectations. The draw back for me was being seated in the 'warm' back area. I would have preferred to sit up front but that minor detail did not take away from the meal or the
