Wanted something within walking distance of my hotel near the Foggy Bottom metro stop. This did not disappoint! It's a small venue in the River Inn, but the food came out quickly and the bartender was very attentive. He even recommended a different wine when the one I ordered was unavailable. The homemade pasta was amazing - I am glad I arrived hungry. Would highly recommend this to anyone traveling to the D.C. metro area.

This amazing hidden gem is almost too good to share with the masses. A part of the River Inn, an independent boutique hotel, has great food with sparkling service. Keith, the bartender, is a maestro of mixology. He offed a wide range of beverages that he will tinker with for the customers enjoyment. If you ask politely he may even find a way to deliver an off menu item to please your appetite. Enjoy this place, but don't tell anyone. Let's keep it our secret.

Amazing!. Had the mussels appetizer, pasta with shrimp and mussels and my husband had the swordfish, it was out of this world! Highly recommended. Read the other Review, we were asked our age too, but it was because we were ordering beer, and they just wanted to make sure what they already knew, that we were of age. It was glutinously yummy!

...scallops...were served over risotto with a lemony butter sauce and, from my side of the table, they looked very large...fantastic

Popular spot for dinner and drinks before a show at the Kennedy Center. Food is decent. Small place tucked in off the lobby of a boutique hotel. Whomever made rhe decision about design seems to have a thing for dogs, specifically Great Danes or a breed that looks similar. Srevice was really good and food came out in good time.

Myself and my friend went there yesterday night for dinner and I can confidently say they are the reason we will be returning to DC again. Carlos our waiter is an amazing person, very attentive and knew what we needed. We celebrated my friends birthday a bit early and they made us feel like we were at home with our families celebrating. Manager is great and greeted all of the tables that evening. Food was delicious and came out in a timely manner, we will be back for more.

Keith the manager is fantastic! A small dining area but great food! The calamari was perfect, the salad was great and the salmon over lentils melted in your mouth! Drinks from the bar were very potent. My husband thoroughly enjoyed their German beer. A great experience while here for the inauguration.

The food was delicious. I recommend the scallops w/saffron risotto. My husband, had the jumbo lump crabcake w/ succotash and loved it. The bartender had fabulous drink recommendations. Although the restaurant is small it is what my nniece likes to say "cute and fancy" with a nice ambiance.

Dish + Drinks is a excellent restaurant. Carlos and his staff make you feel like the only people in the place. He took time to suggest a wine and even gave us a few samples. The food and atmosphere are great. The price was very reasonable for a restaurant of it caliber

Staff is amazing and the food is some of the best I have ever had. Having sampled dishes from breakfast, lunch and dinner it is safe to say this place is superb! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and are easy to converse with which makes the meal that much better with a personal touch. The chefs know what they are doing in the kitchen I have not had an issue with a single dish I have had from Dish. It is a smaller restaurant which is perfect for pre-theatre dinners, date night or just a casual night out with friends. The bar is fully stocked and the drinks are strong, so even if you are not in the mood for a meal you can always come and grab a drink at the bar.

Wonderful food, great service, cozy atmosphere. Waiters know your name after two visits. This place is home for Foggy Bottom residents, especially when you need one of Keith's famous Cosmos after a long day. Food is excellent and desserts are heavenly.

Small, cozy place tucked inside the River Inn. There is a small bar and fireplace that makes the place warm & inviting. We sat at a small table by the window with a nice view of 25th Street. The menu isn't extensive with prices typical for DC. We started with the spring rolls which were very tasty. Our main dishes were the scallops and tuna tartare. The scallops dish was a little light on the portions with only 4 scallops, while the portions for the tuna tartare dish were just right for my date. The manager or owner named Keith came around to check on us and engaged us in some polite small talk. He was seeking a partner for a fishing weekend in NJ and overheard me talking to my date about swordfish. Very nice guy. Our waitress was utterly efficient and polite as well. We had a very pleasant experience. Definitely recommend.

Ended up here after first place we stopped was full and suggested we go around the corner. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our salads were good, both main dishes were excellent (scallops w/ risotto & salmon) and the dessert was also excellent (apple cinnamon thingy). Staff was attentive but not overbearing and very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely go again.

Sat at the bar for the 3-course $45 dinner, and loved every single thing! The bartender was awesome, knows a lot about the wines--he does the wine ordering--so we lucked out since we are big wine people! He introduced this Pecorino to us, and it went well with my Gazpacho! I have to mention to Apple Beignet with Caramel Gelato, it was ridiculously good! The Skirt Steak with Bernaise was very solid, too!

The poor reviews here are amusing. Treat the wait staff like human beings and you will be treated like family, which is not a bad deal. If you care about what you consume, whether that is food, drink, or conversation this is the place for you. The people who work here are intelligent, passionate, and invested in their work. It shows. I can recommend the fish (any of the fish) and what ever the bartender Keith suggests you drink with it. Friday nights can be busy, if you want a quiet evening try something in the middle of the week.

If I was able I would eat here every day for the rest of my trip to DC. I had the scallops and risotto tonight. Hands down, this was the best risotto I have ever had in my life. It was perfectly tender, creamy, flavorful...awesome. The scallops were also perfectly prepared. We finished with the creme brulee that had that perfectly carmelized crust of sugar on the top that you broke open with your spoon. Yummmmm. Also thanks Keith for the great conversation and helping us decide what to try. Great place...do not miss it.

A lovely boutique restaurant with a superb restaurateur (Carlo!). Attracts an eclectic crowd and serves a variety of dishes including a fabulous roasted black bean quinoa bowl (healthy, plant based) paired with wonderful wine.

Food was very good. Service seemed a bit slow at times for our group of 8. Medium rare burger was served medium well. Shrimp and grits were excellent.
