My wife and I were in town for our anniversary. We are big beer enthusiasts, and we decided to pop in for a drink. What we found was an amazing brasserie. Bartender Hannah was exceptionally informative. The goods? Cantillon, Drie Fontienen, and even Westvleteren. Yes, Westy 12! And all for such reasonable prices given the rarity.
Manager Dylan showed us the bottle room. Amazing! We loved the place so much we came back for dinner. We actually cancelled other reservations to come back. When we arrived, Dylan had the bottle of Pannepot I had mentioned wanting to try waiting for us.
The food was delicious. Belgian steak and fries, impeccably prepared. Mussels in a saffron broth. A European slice of heaven in DC. I cannot recommend it enough.
The bartender was awesome and down to Earth! The food was delicious and tasteful. I highly recommend this place.
My husband and I are big beer fans, and I love yeasty, funky, and sour beers in particular. This place is heaven! The draft selection is great - and we definitely took advantage of the tasting pours so we good try more - but don't neglect the bottle menu which is also fabulous! Food is great too - we tried the gravy fries (hubs still raving), the flamme kuche (my favorite), the fat juicy delicious mussels (seriously don't leave without trying the mussels) and a waffle for dessert (YUM). This is definitely a place to savor beer and have great good too!
Shout out to our wunderbartenders Heather and Sean :)
Hannah was the best server I’ve ever had. She took the time to tell us about places around dc we should go to and was extremely nice. We had an amazing night because of her. The food and drinks we also really great there. Overall an amazing experience
I was in DC for a few days (you know I am one of those Belgian tourists)
It's the best restaurant for an American who wants to discover Belgian cuisine.
And our waiter Matt was very well informed of everything about Belgian beers and cuisine.
Belgian paradise! Had the opportunity to try so many Belgian beers on draft that you just can't get anywhere else. Food was great, too. Will be returning in a couple of weeks!
Great beer selection, tasty food, and an amazing staff. We had an excellent experience.
Excellent restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious! Don't skip dessert!
Delicious - and we tried pate, grilled eggplant, mussels and meatballs.
My opinion echos all the other 5 star reviews. Awesome beer selection!
The best beer selection around.
Amazing cocktails and food.
The mussels are incredible!
Awesome vibe and very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Go to when in DC.

Hidden Belgium restaurant and pub. Long list of Session, Ales, sour beers on tap. The Belgium stouts are amazing. 40, 50? I did not count.
Food is great Belgium and Dutch menu.
Staff service is great, very attentive and warm.

A lovely tavern-style bar located down an alley with plenty of seating and is more known for their beers than their food, although they do have plenty of options. Their assortment of beer is astounding and one can have a field day just exploring all of the different drinks they serve.
The bartending staff are very knowledgeable and outgoing, providing wonderful recommendations.
It has a cozy atmosphere during the day and I'll need to head back at night to see what it has to offer
YUMMY! GREAT RESTAURANT IN DC!
DONT BLINK THIS IS THE ONE.
The mushroom pizza our favorite 10/10 , super fresh just come out of the oven, thin and crispy, the perfect combination in a pizza very hard to explain you will need to try it.
The meet was super soft and it would just melt on your mouth.
Finally the dessert, all the options are amazing but I decided to go with the sorbet and gelato.
The dock was okay a little bit too dry.
If you're in the area, go! Phenomenal bar staff! Their mission is to see you feel like a guest in their home. Extensive beer and cocktail menu. Tasty sharable appetizers (get the Brussels Sprouts!) Perfect vibe for date night or a gathering with friends.
The food was good. The service was a bit slow but it was also very crowded, so I couldn't hold that against them. The basement in the corner had just a slight weird smell but I think it's underground and old and normal for the buildings age.
Great atmosphere. Attentive, friendly staff. Deep beer menu with so many amazing finds. We enjoyed the mussels - what a treat. Hope to visit again and try some of the many different absinthe options, too!
Great beer bar, especially for Belgian beer and other higher-end craft. Food's not bad either.
The Sovereign has been a destination for Belgian beer for some time. Plenty of parking nearby in the evening after the traffic lightens up.
Service is usually top notch. Servers know beer well.
Happy hour is pretty nice too with their Belgian Meatballs, petite loaded fries, and Brussel sprouts.
They also do a nice Belgian waffle.
Follow them for their special beer releases with folks such as Cantillon and Lambiek Fabriek.
Awesome find in the Georgetown area! Loved the beer selection, the cocktails and the flatbread pizza. I will most definitely be back to try other options on the menu I wanted. Check it out!!
