Fun, casual nice atmosphere, great servers, but the food was spectacular! I had the Spacliatella with cherries and the Tagliatelle with Bolognese. Pasta handmade in house and the delicious star of the night was the Bolognese!!!! Delicious!!! Everyone, discover this place for fun, delicious Italian food!!!!!

My husband and I were in DC celebrating our anniversary and decided on a whim to check out Alta Strada. I'm so glad we did! The food is so so so yummy (bruschetta, chicken Milanese, and fedellini ) but more than that, our server, Natasha, made it an even better dining experience. She was very personable and friendly, and honestly, I would have loved to hang and chat with her. Easily one of the nicest people we encountered in our week in the city. Thank you Natasha, and Alta Strada, for the perfect end to our trip!!

Exciting and inviting.... Perfect place to spend the evening with some dear friends from Italy. Shared some memorable Carpineto Italian wines! And the food worthy of an applause. The waiter was so attentive and spoke perfect Italian... Saluti

We had an amazing attention and recovery for a small faux pa delivering apps and entrees at the same time- couldn't have been more pleased! Amazing food and customer service!

Our first restaurant in DC! A warm smile when we walked in, and seated quickly. Our water glasses were never empty. Our server was so pleasant and never bothersome. The food came out in less than 6 minutes and I was so surprised! And the eclectic mix of people made anyone feel welcome. Food itself was amazing. Props to you, Alta Strada. We'll definitely be back.

Come si dice magnifico, eccellente, stupendo in Italiano?!?! Alta Strada knocks it out of the ballpark from the start. First you’re greeted by this chillaxed cutie who’s more with it than you realize. Once seated, you’re attended by many, astutely monitored by this giant ginger Bear, who’s got to be the GM or something, running this joint with precision. The restaurant gives classic vibes w matching BGM, colors are a combo of deep earth tones w softly muted pastels and lyrical touches here and there. We ordered apps only since we weren’t thinking of dining and now we must come back, for what we ate was amazing. We ordered the meatballs, shrimp scampi, and Strada bread w 2 Cabs. That alone filled 2 grown men to the hilt. Each item came larger, tastier, and better than expected. For dessert we took home the tiramisu. You can taste the fine liquor used in creating this masterpiece. Side note: The hot daddy next to us had ordered a pizza that looked out of this world. We must have it next time we visit.

Hands down an amazing spot and our server was the best! We came here as we wanted something close to the hotel and decided to sit outside. Everything was delish, the pizza, foccicia, pasta, and desert. My friends got the duck ragu and pasta and I the ravioli and both were amazing. The highlight was the butter served with the foccicia.

My friends and I went here during restaurant week and had a great time. We loved that there were some many good options on the restauweek menu! The food was good, yet the vibe and the service stood out the most to me. The Manager, Ben, and another fellow took care of us after we had to be moved inside due to rain. Ben even offered us free drinks after realizing that they were out of lamb [which we had all ordered]. But even without lamb, everything we ordered was delish! Not to mention our waiter, Israel, was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. We definitely plan to return and get order the lamb!🤞🏿

Ate here on 12/8/23 and the manager and service was amazing. They accommodated our request to change tables and we’re all around very attentive. Very reasonable prices and amazing food and wine! Must get the garlic bread!!!

Wonderful vibe and great pasta. The only thing that turn me off a bit was the boiled egg on my pizza for their today's special pizza. There was no interaction b/w pizza and boiled egg. Egg just fell when eating the pizza. But overall it was still a pleasant dinning experience

So I went here this week for restaurant week and I can say it’s some of the best pasta I have had in the city! I was so thrilled to go here and even more satisfied with the experience! I started off with some kind of alcoholic punch or something- the waiter recommended it and it was delicious! Followed by the RW grilled broccolini. The broccolini was very well seasoned and had an amazing taste! I crushed it fairly quickly. My friends got the burrata and the calamari which they also enjoyed. Next course I got the ricotta agnolotti. Can you say amazing?! Like the taste was sooo spectacular! I actually just reheated the rest and it was still amazing. There’s so much flavor in the dish and I was just so happy with every bite! My friends got the pizza and the chicken parm which they also loved. But I can go on and on about my entrée because it was just so good! Lastly I got the tiramisu which was also on point. My friends got the bombolini and the vanilla bean cheesecake which also was a hit. We have zero complaints about the food! The servers were extremely nice, great with suggestions and were making sure our expedites was a great one so we are thankful for that. The host was super nice as well. We say outside because it was an amazing night and the seating is on the sidewalk but it’s well set up. However because it’s DC please beware of vermin :(. We saw a rat come from the grassy areas not far from the tables and run under a few tables- and you know DC rats are fearless. A few of us cried out but that was the only one I saw within the 90 mins or so of us sitting outside. Limited parking because it’s street parking. Most streets in this area it’s pay to park until 630p but there’s also a lot nearby. The inside is cute as well. I love bathrooms with a good mirror and bright lighting and this one was kinda small- but that’s not like an actual issue lol. Just my preference lol. Overall I’m extremely satisfied with my visit here and would love come again !

Very tasty dishes. Everything was well-presented and well-prepared. I tried the wild boar dish--Pappardelle con Cingahiale. I could have had some leftovers but the dish was so tasty, I ate it all and shared none of it. My friends tried the Rockfish and Chicken Parm dishes and everyone enjoyed their entrees. None of us shared our dishes, we just wanted everything for ourselves. Oh well, I guess our friendship has limits. I do recommend making reservations as this restaurant is very busy. I do plan to come back soon!

This restaurant was the perfect place! The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming! For the food, the pasta is as good as the pasta from Italy and the attic char was incredible! The waiter and staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable and you should definitely listen to their recommendations!

Wonderful! The Tiger shrimp have a fantastic spicy flavor. The arugula salad was split with three. The wild bore, mushroom pasta and squash pasta were all favorable and a delight. Don't miss the espresso martini or the tiramisu! Nice wine selection. Great service that made the evening enjoyable and un-rushed

We got there without a reservation and were still provided a table. The service was amazing, the waiter recommended us food as well as beer and was able to explain what was on the menu. We had pizza and pasta which was pretty good although (for my taste) the pizza was a little dry. My friends were happy with it though

Came for my birthday dinner with my husband during restaurant week. Our server (I think Patricia) was really sweet. All of the food was really good except the clam pasta wasnt the best. Could have had more sauce and clams were a bit overdone. Otherwise everything else was delicious though!

Fabulous. The salad was large enough to share. Wild boar and squash pasta were outstanding. Nice wine selection and don't miss finishing off with an espresso martini.

Every bite from appetizer to dessert was scrumptious. Ordered off the Restaurant Week menu and it did not disappoint. Prosciutto di Parma for appetizer,, lamb chops for entre and chocolate cake for dessert. Also, their cocktails are pretty good.

Absolutely exquisite Italian cuisine. The cacio e pepe should be considered comfort food, warm and almost smoky but so smooth on the palate. Simply divine atmosphere, the staff is so warm and charming, and the dessert is sinful (we had the cherry sorbet and the tiramisu, which can only be described as decadent). If you find yourself in the mood for Italian while in DC, do yourself a favor and visit Alta Strada. In fact, come to DC just for Alta Strada. 10 stars all around.
