So here’s the thing, I lived in Italy for a year, so I’ve become accustomed to killer gelato. American made gelato tends to always pale in comparison, but these guys served up a cup that took me back. The mascarpone flavor was SO GOOD. And all the other flavors my friends got were great as well. It’s most definitely on the pricey side, but honestly, and it’s hard for me to say this cause I tend to be a bit frugal, it’s worth it.
I go here for coffee nearly every weekend because I live nearby. I’ve yet to have their gelato or visit in the afternoon.
Great coffee, slow service - it works for them, and it works for me.
The coffee is well made, though it varies a little from barista to barista. The food is filling, rich and very home made, if a bit on the unattractive side. It won’t photograph well but it will grease that hangover right over.
Stopped in here one morning, quaint little place, lots of cyclists and strollers, pretty busy spot. Coffee was great, they have a vanilla bean in addition to just vanilla flavoring which Iiked. The food actually looked really good although we just had a biscuit with jelly, I say "just but the jelly was amazing. Really liked the all over the place schizophrenic menu and the feel of the place, it's right on the wharf along the water. Only negative was it took over 5 minutes just to order and we were third in line. Took quite a while to get the coffee too although the biscuit came out pretty quick. If they can improve that it'll make it a even better place to go.
It's finally open! Excited to finally have some good coffee in the neighborhood as all we have previously had is three Starbucks and a couple mediocre deli coffees. I came in the afternoon so I didn't try the breakfast foods, but my latte was good. I like the space, although views of the wharf were interrupted by a couple large cars parked in front of the nice big windows. Decor is nice and there's a considerable amount of seating, especially if you don't mind sharing a long table. **Update! Dolcezza switched from conglomerate-owned stumptown coffee to small Brooklyn coffee company, Sey! This is awesome, thank you Dolcezza!
When I came they were giving "for here" drinks in paper cups (not just me, I saw several). Hoping this is a one-time thing and not a new policy!
What a great little place on the DC wharf. Great coffee and just about the only place to grab a quick breakfast in the area without forking over a mint. They had very good selections and the people we're about as friendly as anywhere we encountered in DC. We relied on this coffee shop daily. Very cool atmosphere also and always busy.
Great breakfast options well past breakfast times. Tater tots side order is a very generous portion👍👍Delicious gelato and very friendly service. The opal basil lemonade was so good!!!
The gelato was very delicious with a waterfront view. I really liked the creative flavors they offered. This place is a little bit pricy, but somewhat acceptable as this is a tourist location. The staff could have been more friendlier or show more energy during customer service. He was too dull and serious.
I stopped here over the weekend and the line was out the door. Came back during the week and was able to get in and out quickly. I tried the lemon ricotta and dark chocolate gelato. For a small it was a little over $5 and you get to try 2 flavors. There’s a least 10 flavors and a lot of them were flavors I had never heard of. Will def come back to try it out.
The orders were cappuccino and affogato, the taste are delicious but we are expect to served in ceramic cups. Unfortunately they are served in paper cups, moreover the cappuccino was foamless. Otherwise was awesome theme, music, staff.
Amazing! So many flavors and really good quality. It was creamy and perfect! My cappuccino was rich and smooth and we had a great experience, all for a very reasonable price.
My favorite idyllic spot for affogato and gelato in D.C. They have the most unique and amazing flavors of gelato. The thai coconut milk and espresso affogato literally changed my life. I will eat gelato here until I no longer am able to visit D.C.
Great place for a coffee. Can recommend to have a pour over with Ethiopian Guji Natural. They are using Chemex and EK43 as grinder.
We had the stracciatella and the mascarpone w berries , both were excellent
Only had the gelato and it was a bit pricy but good. Recommend the mascarpone berry. Nice location near the water.
Came here for gelato! Line was long and service was a taaaad bit slow but don’t blame them!
This coffee shop makes me wish I lived in DC! Love the coffee and the service was fantastic! The Nitro and Cream changed my life!
