My go to sushi delivery in dc! The rolls are fresh and well packed and it’s a good value. I especially like the shrimp tempura roll and angry dragon roll. The sashimi is good quality too! Highly recommend Umi!
Pro tip: if you’re ordering for more than one person, put their name in the notes of the rolls they’re ordering and Umi will group them together.
I really like this restaurant. I ordered take out twice and both times were excellent. The rock shrimp came hot and the rolls were so fresh and juicy. Highly recommend.
Easily one of my favorite sushi/Japanese restaurants in DC. Near the National Zoo by the Woodley metro this is a true neighborhood gem with great quality with fresh ingredients and they do not hold back on the meat, plus friendly staff.
I’ve been coming to this place since 2014 and each time I dine or carry out food they do not disappoint.
Great staff they are super attentive! The food is ok, a lot of it has great flavor but some of the more seafood seafood things I. The buffet was a little lacking. All the chicken and beef dishes were flavorful and tender though. Sushi is great a small selection but great. Over all a wonderful dining experience!
I love the fried rice and also the sushi roll taste soooo good!
It was my second time having sushi and the first time was about 10 years ago. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really good. I ordered takeout and got the salmon SU, spicy crab roll, and shrimp tempura roll
I've been ordering pickup from here for years. The masterful chef makes each order look like a masterpiece painting!
Walking around trying to find a reasonably priced meal in this area I stumbled upon Umi's. Up the stairs and into a quiet little dark sushi joint I went. I got there early before the lunch rush came in I suspect, just minutes after opening. The tables hadn't been set yet. That was how early. I ordered a Miso soup and a Fantastic roll. The soup wasn't ready so they asked if I would like my roll first. That was nice and I opted to do that. It was excellent. The special wrap and the plating made it visually so eye appealing that I felt bad eating it - to a point. Delicious. The miso was about on par with any other place and to do it again, I might opt for another starter instead.
Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. Will I come here again in the future. Absolutely. Service staff were pleasant. Big bonus around here.
I like the location, close to the Marriott hotel and Metro Station. The sushi was delicious and the service was friendly. The dining area is small, so this place is good for smaller groups and individuals.
Phenomenal meal tonight and the Tempura Fried Green Tea ice cream was out of this world!!!
Best Japanese food I've had in years!
The food here was Amazing!! Some of the best Japanese food I have had, and I eat a lot of Japanese food. You should get the seafood spring rolls. They are different from anything I have ever had before and so so good.
Best sushi I’ve ever had, incredible! If staying at the Marriott it’s a short walk and so worth it!
