I've eaten here more than 20 times. Fast and attentive service, consistency in the kitchen, and very reasonable prices for a traditional menu.
Great Hill lunch. A great spot to grab a quick lunch when you're in the mood for Mexican. The quesadilla is good, as is the burrito. It's nothing amazing, but a good patio can create fun ambience for a spring day in D.C.
Friendly and delicious. Friendly and eager service -- they were open during the blizzards of 09-10, ready and willing to serve some good margaritas and sauteed shrimp.
Great neighbohood place with ample outdoor space. Carne asada is fabulous! Great value.
Great atmosphere! Food was fantastic...simply Mexican! Easy parking on the weekends, cozy outdoor patio with plenty of tables.
Solid and friendly. Good food, great margaritas, affordable, very popular neighborhood restaurant. Large front patio is a perfect place to drink, dine, and gab your way through a summer afternoon/evening.
Solid Mexican restaurant although the food is a bit pricey for what it is. But relative to some of the restaurants neighboring it, it isn't a bad deal. The food was good, even the shrimp. The margaritas were very good and were a reasonable price and the staff was average. If you are walking nearby and really craving Mexican or find the immediate neighbors' pricing abhorrent and do not feel like traveling far, it's a good place to grab dinner. The outdoor area is also very nice on a mild night.
The staff is friendly, and the food tastes great. It has very interesting decor.
After eating here a few times the staff treats you like family. The food is some of the best and the price is exceptional. It may not be able to handle large crowds so well and the space is limited but the food is well worth any small inconvenience. Definitely a must if you are anywhere near the nation's Capitol building and want cheap eats that are great.
La Loma is a great restaurant. Easy to get to from the Union Station Metro. The food is good, the service is fast, and for the area it's located in, the pricing is great. The outdoor seating is great for a summer evening.
I noticed in another poster mention that they don't split checks - I've never had an issue with that, and we've gone with friends many times. As far as a $15 minimum on cards, I've never noticed that there, but then again, I'm not sure how you could spend under $15.
The food here is awesome! The specials were excellent! Even chicken was well done! Chips and salsa with our entree. Good service, but a skimpy wine selection with no free refills on soda.
Really good happy hour deals on margaritas. Good tacos, burritos and enchiladas, plus their guacamole is just the right blend! It’s within walking distance of union station and on Mass Ave so convenient location
Love La Loma! The food is tasty, salsa is great, and the margs are also great.
This is one of my favorite, very reasonably priced places in the District to eat at when I'm in town.
I enjoyed La Loma. The salsa was a bit thin but really tasty. The cheese dip - thin and not tasty. But the margaritas (otr) were quite good! I opted for one of La Loma's signature meals called Puerca Asada which was heavenly. Very tender cubes of pork with what they called 'Spanish sauce.' I was anticipating a red sauce of some sort but it ended up being sauteed onions, garlic and other treats in a clearish broth. I tossed it with the side of rice and omg it was fantastic. I tried to clean my plate but it seemed like it was multiplying with each bite. Service was good and relatively quick as we had a table of ten. La Loma almost deserves a 5 star rating but the ambiance left a lot to be desired.
The food and service was great! The first thing you might think is that the further you get from the ethnic origins of a place, the more of a poor facsimile the food will be. Well not so here. This is as good as Texmex gets and it's in DC! La Loma is spanish for the hill and that's where it's at.
Great salsa, excellent food, fast service, and a a great atmosphere. The pico is a fresh, the steak tacos are authentic, and the value is great too. Everyone in the group loved what the ordered.
La Loma is one of my absolute favorite Mexican restaurants in the DMV. Their margaritas are amazing and I love their food. The staff is always kind and efficient. I would reccomend to anyone!
great food and service, wonderful lunch outside! Cute area. We travel to Mexico regularly and love the food, the food here authentic and every bit as good! Will definitely go next trip to DC!
Very good lunch spot. Great patio seating with umbrellas. Also have indoor seating. Excellent people watching. Good for group lunches or one-on-one. Thumbs up!
