This meal did not disappoint. I love seafood and there were so many thoughtful dishes that were full of flavor. The first course was 3 small bites. My friends and I each had our favorite, mine was the caviar with mussel cream, but they were all amazing! There was a play on gazpacho that was so light and refreshing. And the crab and rice was so soothing, it was literally, a hug in a bowl, as the head chef described. Sitting at the chef’s counter was a treat. All the chef’s were great and interactive, explaining each dish to us.
What was even better than this meal was the staff. Our waiter, Cable, was so warm and friendly. The sommelier was so cool and helped us pick 2 amazing bottles of wine; I want to go back just to drink wine with her. The chefs were so friendly, explaining each dish and letting us ask questions while watching them cook at the chef’s counter. We had a lot of fun, it didn’t feel like a stuffy and formal dinner, we laughed a lot both together and with the staff. Can’t wait to go back and see how the menu changes!
Reverie has the most phenomenal tasting menu and wine paring. The flavors and combinations are out of this world imaginative. By far one of the best dinner experiences. They surely deserve their Michelin star.
A master-class in fine dining and delicious flavors, chef Johnny Spero has created an intimate and friendly dining experience that I look forward to visiting again. Spero's menu is seafood driven, focusing on the clean flavors of sea and freshwater, with unfailing balance and presentation. Our 15? course tasting menu and wine pairing left us beyond satisfied. Notable dishes included p.e.i. mussel, cured swordfish, scallop, lobster rice pudding, the duck!, I could just name all,the dishes... nothing fell short. Reverie's som also curated an elegant and surprising pairing for each dish that never felt off and more often bordered on genius.
While this dining experience might be a once in a lifetime for some, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a very special night out. Sitting chef's table is also a treat for those that are interested in chatting with the very knowledgeable and talented kitchen staff. We spent roughly 4-5 hours there, laughing and engaging with the staff, having one of the most outstanding dining experiences I can remember. All the stars, highest possible reconnection.
Great food, great service and a good value considering the quality, creativity and delivery. The chef himself serves some of the dishes and tells you the story behind the dish. Loved the starters, the cod, brisket and desserts. The rest was wonderful also.
Reverie’s one of the most underrated restaurants in DC right now, and I regret not coming here sooner. I had the 16-course chef’s counter menu, which was all-around excellent and inventive.
I especially enjoyed the seafood courses: the tuna, razor clam, scallop, and skate dishes were delicate yet complex in flavor and beautiful in presentation.
Any restaurant with 4 courses of dessert will win my heart. Loved the pistachio meringue tart and the petit fours! The beverage menu was fantastic as well. I hardly drink alcohol so I always order a mocktail when I’m dining out. “Into the Woods” was by far the best mocktail that I’ve ever had; it consists of a coffee base, non-alcoholic bourbon, and black walnut bitters. I also tried a delicious non-alcoholic wine that was not glorified fruit juice.
Service was great and unpretentious! Chef Johnny Spero is so friendly and easy to chat with.
It’s our third time in Reverie and it’s simply amazing! Tucked away in a little alleyway in Georgetown is this great restaurant serving beautiful elaborate dishes. They look great, they smell incredible and more importantly they are delicious! We fell in love with this place! Its cool and hip atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food makes it a definite must for any foodie in town! Enjoy!
PS: Try the duck!
Awesome as always, small portions, but that's our preference. The lamb, bay leaf ice cream, and bourbon drinks were outstanding.
I don't post often but when I do it's because of the excitement of a great dining experience. Reverie is something new and refreshing. The creativity, passion and effort going into this restaurant amazes me. This is a delicious, fun, and blow your mind experience. I say experience because everything seems perfect and the attention to detail and warmth of the staff is felt. If you are looking for such an experience, check them out.
Exquisite birthday dinner! Definitely deserves a Michelin star! Truly enjoyed the meal, pairing, and staff. We'll be back!
