Tortuga Caribbean Bar & Grille - Washington DC - Photo album

I enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at this restaurant! The staff members are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We almost dined inside until my friend made the suggestion to eat on the rooftop. It was everything! They have these misty fans that kept it cool and added to the alre
Awesome rooftop with carribean vibes and food. The food and drinks were amazing! I had the tostones nachos with shrimp and a cocktail. Delicious! Bartenders were on point and checked in regularly. Set on busy main street so parking is a challenge. Must stop at spot on visit to DC.
A hidden gem 💎. The service was impeccable. Clean place with great music and vibes. The jerk chicken was amazingly delicious 🤤. I will definitely come back!
So my wife was dogsitting down here in Eastern Market, so we decided to come by. The dining room was deserted BUT that is not indicative of the restaurant. It's not crazy obvious from the ground, but they have a cool rooftop bar that was jumping. Our server was great, attentive but not smothering,
Nice vibes and good music. The portions sizes are huge. Each plate could’ve been shared for two people.
Yellowtail snapper was terrific. Rooftop seating area is highly recommended and the drinks are good. Service was a bit slow and they forgot to bring out our app, but the server was nice and they’re still new. (Would love to see a fish or shrimp basket on the menu...)
Ask for Tim!!!!! Great service, great personality, very attentive! The food was delicious and I’m very closed minded when it comes to trying new things. We tried the bowl of soup and ordered popcorn shrimp on the side. Went back the next morning for brunch and the waffles, eggs and bottomless mimosa
The food is DELICIOUS! The service is hit and miss. Last time I was there they were out of snapper and crab cakes. The time before that the bartender downstairs ignored me for like 10 minutes, flirted with my date, and slammed my drink down on the bar when she gave it to me.
Nice service, ambiance, Nigerian music, jerk chicken could have been more juicy. Service was great. Tim treated us well. I’ll be back with friends.
Great service, good choice of drinks. A little pricey (cocktails) and the spicy ceviche was way too spicy but the tostone sliders were great - beef patties were just a little undercooked. Great presentation of the food. Outdoor patio with space for fido.
Dishes were hit or miss. The Conch Fritters were borderline burnt, the Cubano was so-so. The Toston Nachos were tasty, but a little misleading (Nachos with a few plantain chips-not tostones). The Shrimp Mofongo was very good as well as the Surf n Turf Burger (cooked perfectly). The service was EXCEL
Brunch on rooftop open tent with tabletop heating. Still a bit cold but safe! Great food, seafood omelette great, steak and eggs good, breakfast burger and fries great. Service slow.
