Catania Bakery - Washington DC - Photo album

A local and historic gem. Come on Friday or Saturday mornings from 730-1030, the rest of the time they're just for delivery / catering. The croissants are amazing, if you get there at the right time and they're fresh out of the oven, buy them all :-) Or if you get there, and they just sold out, it m
An adorable place! The owner is a very sweet person who will give you excellent food recommendations. The croissants are also pretty darn good. Try the strawberry or chocolate! I only got a pic of the blueberry muffin (yum!) and the sfogliatelle (citrus ricotta filling)..I ate the croissants too fas
Catania Bakery is a small shop only open Saturday mornings for pastry and bread (they primarily do wholesale during the week). The croissants are cheap and amazing! The cookies are handmade - a bit pricier because of the ingredients but so amazing. Their shortbread tarts taste like Christmas and joy
I love this place is open only twice a week Friday and Saturday for a few hours each day. If you’re in the area I only recommended to stop bye All baked good insanely delicious
The only thing that gets me up early on Saturday mornings is the promise of quality bread and other pastries from Catania. The owners and the patrons are pillars of the community, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better loaf and a better way to spend your Saturday morning. My advice: go early, be
The highlight of my Saturday mornings! Delicious pastries and bread. The owner also takes the time to know his newer customers, and the loyal customers have been coming here for years.
Best Authentic Italian Bakery in DC. Very personal family run business, they bake for restaurants or sell by the loaf. My family has been going here for 60+ years. Come out and support them.
NOT open on Fridays. This would be a very enthusiastic 5 rating if they kept their hours updated. I took time off work to come here to get supplies for a dinner party tonight, and there was a sign on the door. Ended up driving all over the city and got in trouble with work. Also, this place is CASH
Catania Bakery is a historic bakery in Truxton Circle that opened in 1932 when the area was largely Italian. The bakers from Sicily baked breads to deliver to the Italian homes. As the neighborhood and demand changed, they moved to wholesale baking bread for DC's restaurant scene. Because of that, t
I will certainly be back!! A community gem, happy to have found them. Unless you're doing wholesale, then it's primarily Friday and Saturday mornings when they do pastries and the bread is great too!!!
The best bakery in DC! All of the Italian restaurants use their bread. Open to public on Saturday.
Truly a hidden gem and historic treasure in DC - hard to find family run bakeries like this anywhere in the city (or in the country) these days, so go support Al! (And before the pastries run out!)
Catania & Catania is really helpful with my case and always available for any questions that I had. Would recommend this firm!
I ❤ this place. Walk there every Saturday morning. Best croissants ever! Soft favorable and great!!
So friendly, so cool!! Such good pastries. W-O-W !!
Friendly people, somewhat random hour. Their biscotti are pretty good. But if you want the full selection of breads and cookies, come early in the morning.
My grandmother lived near the baker when I was a kid in the 70s. I'm my opinion, they have the best tasting bread with a nice soft center.
Authentic Italian baked goods by wonderful people. You cannot get this stuff in a super market. It tastes like home.
