Been here early - so I was able to have a brief chat to the owner. Very good, zingy “berry immune” liquid meal for breakfast, along with a “lemon ginger cooler” and a hot “royal breakfast tea”. Lovely calm style with no tables inside but bar tables at the windows with bar stools. Nice and not dominant music as well. I also had to try the “Avocado Herb Toast”. It was fantastic! I am usually not a fan of Oregano, but here it was subtle and lovely. Lovely calm style with no tables inside but bar tables at the windows with bar stools. Nice and not dominant music as well.

Was so grateful to have found Fruitive on a recent trip through DC, while in search of a tasty variety of vegan offerings without a full-service, sit-down dining experience, and wow did they deliver! I especially appreciated that they kindly offered to whip up the vegan berry waffles for me after seeing how excited I had been to try them even though I had just missed their menu hours! Grateful to have been served such a tasty meal on the go! Pleasant atmosphere in the outdoor dining section as well, and friendly and welcoming staff and owner!

The best breakfast in DC! It will leave you feeling refreshed and re-energized. I highly recommend the antioxidant and Pb no j bowls! Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. I returned here multiple times during my visit, I only wish there was one where I live!

Great little vegan spot. Small menu, but the food is delicious & healthy. Employees are friendly. I've tried the PB no J açai bowl (sub for almond butter), waffle, quesadilla, & plant burger. My favorites so far are the açai bowl & plant burger. Great place for a healthy breakfast or lunch when in city center.

Outstanding food, excellent customer service. Wide variety and the Chai is amazing. Highly recommend for vegans and vegetarians but even non-vegans will enjoy it. Flavors are fresh, not over-salted.

Beautiful atmosphere. Very nice ambience. Super chill and casual. Was excited to find a fully vegan restaurant as they are hard to find in my state. Couple seats have access to wall outlets which is always a cool little extra feature for a restaurant in my opinion. Now the food!! Oh my gooosh! Delicious!! Best açaí bowl I ever had. My liquid blend was so very tasty and satisfying! Plan to come back immediately 😅 to try other items! Edit: I came back 3 days later and got a different liquid meal (health warrior), half a quesadilla and overnight oats JUST as delicious as the previous meal. I am soooo saddened I have to return home without a local Fruitive!!!!!!

We loved the vegan waffles and especially the PB NO J Bowl. So delicious! Has been our breakfast every day since we are here. Can get crowded at some times but everyone was super friendly and we always found some space. Thanks so much 😊

I had the antioxidant smoothie bowl and the housemade granola bar. The quality of ingredients was excellent. I do recommend this restaurant if you are seeking a safe space for vegetarians or just wanting something refreshing and healthy. Staff were friendly and environment was clean.

FRUITIVE, is an organic, vegan, mostly take-a-way eatery. Fruitive opened it's door in 2012, when Gregg Rozeboom "created a place where his family could come and enjoy a healthy meal." Gregg's tiny eatery projects a British library feel. On your left, library stacks fill the wall. Vegan treats are displayed across the center of the room. The order counter is ahead, on the far right. The "librarian," cashier, and hostess, Catherine, is friendly and knowledgeable. Catherine suggested the spicy Tuscan Kale Wrap, an over-sized, whole wheat tortilla that's stuffed with minced, organic vegetables. (butternut squash, sweet potatoes, broccoli, quinoa, garbanzo beans, caramelized onions, basil pesto mayo, hummus, black and cayenne pepper). The wrap is lightly toasted before serving. There is a large selection of vegan drinks. My choice is freshly brewed, lemon-ginger tea. The combination is quite filling and delicious. Fruitive is a compact cafe. Inside, seating is on stools, at a narrow, bar height counter, that hugs the street and patio windows. Outside, are a half dozen, or so, wheelchair accessible tables. This is a unique, wonderful, vegan eatery. If you're in DC, don't miss it.
