We have been here twice over the years. Great little place to go. Sad to see so much has been cornered off of the market. It was nice to have the whole thing with more product before. I like the additions they have made. Cute waterfall feature. I wish there was a little more to explore though.
More animals would be good too. I felt they were a little overwhelmed by the amount of food and people.
Worth the trip! The food was fresh and the hospitality warm. The Big Red sandwich was big. It came with a tasty bbq sauce but didn’t even need it! The Mac and cheese was the creamiest. I’m not really into hard cider but the stuff they make here just seems to go well with the food.
This is a great cider mill to take the family. The donuts and cider were fresh and really hit the spot. My kids enjoyed feeding the animals and playing in the bounce house. I got a bottle of the Rojo hot sauce. The sauce is hot and it has a great flavor. The sauce comes in a very large bottle. My entire family enjoyed our time at Big Red Orchard.
Great place to take the kids for cider, donuts and more. (Our 9th Mill for the season and rated them close tie (Yates) for 2nd best Cider, however sort of disappointed with the Cinnamon not staying on the donuts but they were good donuts.. we also purchased some tomatoes, apples, a bottle of red wine. The best was the pulled pork and potato salad from the gents out back. I hope they work it regularly so when I go back. We could have more. The smell alone sold me. I wasnt going to purchase but as I sat down at our table to enjoy our cider and donuts, a very nice couple with their child, had purchased it and the smell... ooooohhh my... the smell??? SERIOUSLY...OMG!! I had to go and try it. I ended up ordering extra to take home for my son.(I believe it was a fire fighters union? Please dont quote that to be exact). Anyhow, theres a hayride, and farm animals. Give it a try. Im sure I missed something but check it out.
Been coming to Big Red for over 25 yrs and it's fantastic place to hang out with friends and family.
But...... They are closed. Says open but they are not. Apparently they have been bought out to a restaurant group?
Great donuts, friendly animals! Staff was tending to the animals when we were there (which I love to see). Only thing I didn’t like is that the animals really don’t have much space in their pens and it makes me so sad.
