If you are from out of town and love Mexican food do not walk but run here for breakfast.
We ordered the Chilaquiles with steak and green sauce. It was amazing. The spice from the green sauce was not overpowering but left a lingering tingle in the mouth.
The other dish was the Avocado Benedict. It was a nice simple dish.
If we come back to this area I would come back.

Not a fancy place, it used to be called the Dog House many years ago. The family that owns it does a nice job with the Latin flare food wise. Very kind and respectful and attentive ownership. We were very comfortable. The food was good, and a good place just to have a conversation over an inexpensive meal.
Great place for my chilaquiles, I'm a cook and I trust them with my food then any other places around town. They always try to make everything as fresh as can be.
This place may not look like much on the outside but they sure do know how to cook. Their chilaquiles Verde is to die for. The best I've had in quite awhile. They have delicious horchata to. This places does get packed occasionally but they do a great job moving service along. It opens early and closes early so if you go be mindful of that. And if you go on the weekend expect there to be a wait. Great taste for great prices. But when they are packed they dont really pay attention to your order if you make changes. I'll be back to try more on their menu.
Love this place. Simple fresh ingredients. I’ve been coming here for 5+ years and the quality has not changed. Panini and Fries are my goto. I’ve only had the lunch items but I hear the breakfast is great.
Food was excellent. Name of restaurant may be deceiving. Loved the food just like a home cooked Mexican breakfast. Cecina was great!

Plenty flavor, large portions, spread of food options, they serve breakfast and lunch all day, & the food was served quickly. The best local find & the best meal we had while visiting great wolf lodge! Go here
I love the green chilaquiles here. I have tried other items, but the chilaquiles are the reason I come in. The red chilaquiles are good but love the green.

Oh man, the chipotle chicken pannini was on point. And yay, I found a sweet potato french fry spot to go to now. Although a little crunchier for my taste, I'm still happy. The restaurant was not exactly what I was anticipating. It's actually more of a breakfast and Mexican food spot. I will go back again though and try something different plus my s.p. fries. The dining area is small and it was hot, but I would still dine in there. (This was 4 years ago)

I can't believe I haven't been back to this place in so long. Any who, here's another review:
Again, Oh Man! So yesterday I went here for the pannini I like, but actually ordered the wrong sandwich, it was still good. I finally tried the crepes, and I'll have to say I personally don't like crepes like I thought I would. Still good again, chocolate chip probably been better. But man oh man, I ordered my baby the chocolate chip pancakes 😭 and he tore them thangs up. I had just a bite and was like damn we gotta go back for more. Definitely giving my favorite breakfast spot out here a run for they money. And that's what we did today. I checked out the menu to see what this lady was eating yesterday, it was there popular chilaquiles. I added onions, avocado and asada. Had it with the red sauce and I was thoroughly impressed! 👌 👏 We'll probably be back next week. 😅 Well worth every dime. Oh, one more thing, they are so freaking fast with your order. At minimum 10-15 minutes depending on how much you're ordering.

So here's my plate. I inhaled these chilaquiles. Best chilaquiles in town! Try these things out! Get it with the cecina or asada and you are in for a ride! Pair it with sidral and you'll swear you're in Mexico. Tremendous!
Fast service. The price point is decent for the area. I got a torta, fries, and drink for under $16. The staff was kind despite being very busy. They also accommodated my order to be vegetarian, even though they were in a rush. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a healthier/light meal.
Fresh fast friendly and very tasty. We had the waukegan which came with cecina and also the chilaquiles which were very flavorful. 24 dollars total with coffee and a real coke in the bottle is a great deal for the quality and taste.
I love going here I have been here on numerous occasions and every experience is a good one. You can taste the freshness of the food and they are very quick in making the food look and taste good. The only con in this establishment is that is closes a tad early. Other than that 5 stars all the way. (chilaquiles are by far the best) serve breakfast and lunch. outside seating and chill environment.
Today was our first experience here and it was excellent from start to finish.
We where greeted with enthusiasm and a warm smile.
After checking out the menu choices we settled on one breakfast item "avocado Benedict " get t with house hot sauce & "chicken club with extra crispy fries" comes with home made aioli. Omg so good! We dipped our fries into the aioli to our hearts content.
They do come bus the tables even though you order at the counter which is nice.
We sat outside and watched the world go by while eating this yummy meal. At one point the proprietress came out to check in and we had a lovely conversation.
All good things.
Know this folks. I adore egg harbor and wildberry in libertyville, but the food here today was actually better and at $16 for 2? You just can't beat that.
Everything is fresh. BTW... Best eggs Benedict I've ever had. Hands down. What a surprise!

One of my favorite places in Waukegan! Been here quite a few times. And have tried their tortas, chilaquiles (THE BEST), and of course the Chipotle Chicken Panini, which I had for lunch today! The service is always fast, and their staff is always nice and friendly! Highly recommend it!
I go at least once a week. The chilaquiles rojos are amazing and is probably the only thing I’ve ordered besides fries. The only downside is that it is often packed and I have to sit at the bar.
It's one of my favorite places in the area. Delicious food made by amazing people!

Wow 5 stars!!! I ordered the Chilaquiles and it was great! Great food, great atmosphere, staff was friendly and the Horchatas were perfect.
