I love this place. Gengis Kahn Mongolian BBQ is one of my favorite places to eat. Period. The Shepard express review says it's not spicy enough, well apparently they missed the jars of pepper flakes in oil. Load that on until it burns, I usually can take one ladle full before its too hot for my tastes, but I am not a spicy eater to start with I guess.
Better than the far nicer looking BD's by Bayshore, and cheaper too. It's fast, good and a fun dining experience. I have to say that the folks that run the place are not the friendliest in town, or the easiest to understand, or the best wait staff, but the water glass rarely goes empty and the bowls get moved off the table quickly so there is not much there to complain about.
I do agree that the pricing is not designed for kids, do not bring young children here or you will likely end up paying the same for them as for an adult. We learned that lesson already, but they were kind enough to, after a bit of complaining, remove some of the charges for our 3year old who ate pretty much nothing anyhow. It was not perfect, but acceptable. And for this place I am willing to live with that.
Everyone I have ever brought here now loves it too, but it's not for everyone. It is not as nice as other places inside, it's older, more or less generic interior is not exciting or inviting, but I am there for the food which is always top notch.
It is a Mongolian BBQ though, if that's not your thing or you have peanut allergies, etc, stay away as everything is quick fried directly on a giant flat top grill so everyone gets a little of everyone elses stuff, or at least some of the flavors and oils. To me it is near perfect though, maybe it will be for you too. There is only one way to find out.
The food is amazing. The already cooked section didn’t have as much of a variety but still had the things I like. The uncooked side was amazing. Definitely 10/10. Whole meal for 2 adults was only $30.28. Super nice staff. Would recommend to everyone.
The DIY stir fry is amazing and very fun to customize. Don’t bother with the buffet! It’s no good and the stir fry is all you can eat for dinner or a huge bowl for lunch. It’s usually empty in the dining room so I don’t know if it’s a secret mafia front of a dive restaurant or what but I’ve been going for years and still love it.
We loved the food and the ambiance
Also, the price is good
Hot, fresh food. Clean dining room and restroom. Staff are friendly and attentive. Fun to mix sauces.
I love this place make a bowl of food and watch it cooked in front of you
