OG presents as white table cloth but falls just shy. Overall we had a nice experience and would return but there are some expectations that come with trying to be more than you are.The good: NE clam chowder was silky and delicious. The tapenade served with the bread. The day boat dry scallops. The squash soup. And the service was pleasant and attentive. The not so good: Fresh pepper is NOT offered for any course. I thought for a moment they didn't have a mill but then I spotted a white one across the room but by then it was too late. The scallops were described as being served in brown butter. They came out in a brown liquid tasting nothing like the salty/nutty characteristics of simply being seared and finished in a brown butter. The rice pilaf that came with the scallops was pedestrian at best. Lacking flavor or thought. Lastly the bread. OG creates this delicious spread then serves it with a freezer to oven bread (Rudis ?) which is fine if I'm not in a white table cloth restaurant charging me $25+ per entrée.
Delicious food mixed with fast service and a pleasant atmosphere makes for a fantastic restaurant.
I'D LIKE TO BE, UNDER THE SEA..... My wife & I have dined in this local BYOB (that happens to offer wines from Sharrott Winery in Winslow, NJ, by the way) twice, and must say this is one of the finest seafood restaurants in all of South Jersey. On Tuesday evening, March 15, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Jumbo Stuffed Shrimp platter, & I was equally pleased with the Panko Crusted Shrimp. (Tuesday night is Crab & Shrimp Night) The soups, sides and desserts are all wonderfully prepared, and the service is warm and friendly. What else would one possibly want?
Phenomenal, the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich here is among the best I have ever had in my life. It stands in the hall of fame of chicken sandwiches. The staff is also awesome. The owner greets every table making sure they are comfortable and have what they need. It just has that hometown family owned everybody's welcome vibe going. Obviously I like this place a lot.
Mickeys was warm and inviting with friendly helpful staff and amazing food.
Tip: get the cheesecake. It’s made on premises and is super creamy and fluffy.
First visit. Great bar food in plentiful portions. Terrific beer selection and pleasant obliging staff. We'll be back.
My wife and I finally got down to Mickey's today for the first time. I have heard nothing but good things about the place, and I was pleasantly surprised. Great staff, Great Service. I had the Benny. It was absolutely banging. Keep up the great work we will be back!
Fabulous food! I recommend the crab cake melt on texas toast. No stuffing in the crab cake! All crab, seasoning, and a crunchy breaded crust. There were senior citizens, families getting ice cream and adult couples having dare night as well as tables of friends out for snack. It is the perfect place for all. Love the outdoor seating away from the busy highway, with a fire pit!
We got the wings and Manhattan clam chowder and buffalo cauliflower and some cocktails. Very delicious! Sat outside with fire pits. Excellent! Host Michael and owner asked if we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Perfect!
This restaurant is outside seating only due to COVID. No issue for us, it was a gorgeous day. The menu was a little limited compared to your run of the mill chains, no appetizers and your meal comes with a baked potato. The burgers are amazing and cooked to your liking. The potato's are hot and delicious. The service was great! Prepare for a decent wait but it's definitely worth it.
Live music on a Friday night, great server with a server named Dylan, and adequate outdoor seating. Chicken with hot peppers and roasted potatoes was awesome!
