Super basic lunch meal!!! Bean and cheese burrito and nachos.. the beans were so fresh something you don't see as often as you'd like. Nachos were very basic, would have preferred the cheese drizzled all over them from the beginning bit it's okay 5/5 will eat again if in des moines

The chicken flour tacos and flour chips with queso are quite good but could use some more flavor. Other than that no complaints food was prepared fast and fresh! P.S. I’ve read some reviews on here that make me want to point out if you’re looking for authentic Mexican food you’re in the wrong place, but they are still good tacos!

I recently went here and I just want to say thank you to kitchen staff that helped me meet my sister's needs who is vegetarian and has a soy allergy. She asked for a taco with just lettuce and cheese and the person at the counter taking orders said it is not at all possible to have a taco made that way which had disappointed her because the location in Ankeny goes above and beyond to meet her allergy needs and always makes a lettuce and cheese flour taco, so I asked them in Spanish if this was possible because the one taking orders was being a bit rude by looking at his phone and not putting effort into asking, so I asked how much it would be so I could pay for it and they said to take it for free. This made my sister very happy and we were all able to eat together while including her. so again, thank you!!! Note: More restaurants need to be more inclusive when it comes to people's allergies or dietary restrictions.

Two priorities when visiting Des Moines area, in order: 1. Eat at Tasty Tacos 2. See my in-laws

A very solid, very authentic place to get some Mexican food. Not quite drive-thru fast, but not as long as a sit down Mexican resteraunt. Management keeps the place very clean, I have been in a dozen identical places that were not nearly as clean as Tasty Tacos, so definite credit for that. The food is slightly above average Mexican fare. This isn't a Taco Bell, but everyone knows what taco bell is. If you want fluffy, flour shells, this is the place to go!

Grew up on this place as a treat. Their soft shell tacos are why you should eat here! They start the meat & then finish it inside the taco shells. They now sell their seasoning & hot sauce in the Hy-Vee grocery stores.

Was in town and decided to give this place a try. Ordered to go. Everyone talks about the original flour taco with beef. This was tasty, puffed shell, well seasoned meat. Adding the spicy salsa makes this an enjoyable taco. The chicken version is decent, just not as well spiced as the beef. For desserts, had the bunuelo which is a puffed flour taco shell sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar served with a small container of honey. The krispos are similar but sliced into triangles. Service was quick. Easy access. Helpful staff.
