This is a great spot for vegans. We went for brunch and we had reservations. We went as a large party so you will see a variety of food photos here! Staff was wonderful, food was great - all vegan. I would definitely go again and try more of their items! Four stars because of the price. I have had equally good food other places that cost half of what I paid here.

Absolutely love this restaurant! We eat GF and mainly plant-based, so there was so much for us to choose from. Then, finding out they have their own house mezcal made this place even better! The atmosphere is amazing, and I love that they have indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. We plan to return and would highly recommend this place, even if you’re not vegetarian/vegan.

Wow, wow, wow. What a place! I’m not plant-based but wanted to eat at Gracias Madre because there is so much hype about the place. And it’s well deserved! The food is stunning to look at and super tasty. The staff is very friendly and know the menu so well. The decor is gorgeous. I dropped in for an early lunch before the busy period without a reservation. I had the USD25 fixed menu and there is much to choose from. The heart of palm ceviche is sensational and rivals any fish ceviche I have tried. Fresh, tangy and it has a bite to it. The Gordita with the oyster mushroom chicharron is a winner. 10/10 experience - the service and the food. Highly recommend 🌮

Gracias Madre Review: A Gourmet's Guide to Vegan Mexican Cuisine in Los Angeles. Gracias! There's something about the sun-drenched streets of Los Angeles that always heightens my culinary expectations. As I made my way to Gracias Madre, a well-acclaimed vegan Mexican restaurant in the heart of the city, my anticipation was a blend of curiosity and excitement. Known for its plant-based cuisine that promises both innovation and tradition, Gracias Madre had long been on my list of must-visit culinary destinations. Upon arriving, the restaurant's ambiance struck a chord with me instantly. The space was a harmonious blend of California cool and Mexican warmth, with vibrant, earthy tones and lush greenery creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The outdoor patio, bathed in the golden hues of the L.A. sunset, was particularly alluring, promising a dining experience that was both al fresco and intimate. As a gourmet foodie with a deep appreciation for wine, the first thing I gravitated towards was their wine list. Gracias Madre's commitment to organic and biodynamic wines was impressive. I chose a crisp, organic white wine that, as I soon discovered, paired beautifully with the bold flavors of Mexican cuisine. The culinary journey began with their famed guacamole, served with house-made corn tortillas. The guacamole was a bright, zesty affair, with just the right amount of cilantro and lime to elevate the creamy richness of the avocado. It was a simple dish, yet executed with a level of finesse that set the stage for the meal to come. Moving on to the entrees, the Jackfruit Tacos caught my eye. Jackfruit, a unique choice for a meat substitute, was marinated and cooked to such perfection that it mimicked the texture and flavor of pulled pork astonishingly well. Topped with pickled cabbage, cashew crema, and spicy salsa, each taco was a revelation of flavors and textures – a true testament to the culinary creativity at Gracias Madre. Another standout dish was the Cauliflower Fajitas. The cauliflower was roasted to a smoky tenderness, served alongside peppers, onions, and house-made tortillas. The dish was accompanied by a selection of vegan sides that were flavorful and hearty, defying the common misconception that plant-based cuisine lacks depth and satisfaction. Throughout the meal, the wine I had chosen proved to be an ideal companion, its acidity and freshness cutting through the richness of the dishes and enhancing their intricate flavors. As the evening progressed, I engaged in conversations with the staff who were not only knowledgeable about their menu but also passionate about their philosophy of sustainable, plant-based eating. Their enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Dessert was a delightful surprise. The chocolate cake, rich and moist, was served with a scoop of coconut-based vanilla ice cream. It was a dish that could easily rival any traditional dessert in flavor and texture, a fitting end to a meal that had been full of surprises. Leaving Gracias Madre, I was not only satisfied in a culinary sense but also deeply inspired. The restaurant had not only met my expectations as a gourmet foodie and wine lover but had also broadened my perspective on the potential of plant-based cuisine. It was a dining experience that resonated with me on many levels – the innovative dishes, the commitment to sustainability, and the warm, inviting atmosphere had all come together to create an evening that was as delightful as it was enlightening.

Stopped in for a Sunday brunch and had a wonderful experience. The menu is packed with great vegan options. We had the jackfruit lettuce cups. Yum. The corn muffins. Yum. The potato taquitos. Triple yum! It would be worth driving from Long Beach to WeHo just for more. I also ordered a Paloma with Tajin rim. It was a little warm, so we probably should have stayed inside, but hey, worse things than sitting on the patio on a beautiful SoCal summer day. I will go back! Next time will be for supper. This place is cozy, warm, and the people are friendly.

Amazing food!! I have tried many vegetarian/vegan Mexican restaurants, but this is one of the best restaurants I have ever been. We tried the following dishes:- 1. ENCHILADAS DE CALABAZA & PORCINI MUSHROOM - the soft tacos filled with butternut squash, served with mushroom sauce on top of it. Usually, the mushroom has strong flavors and overpowers the dish if not used wisely. However, you can taste every ingredient of this dish and relish it. Never thought that sauteed spinach and rice pilaf would go so well with it. 2. TACO TRIO - We tried JACKFRUIT CARNITAS TACO, CHIPOTLE BARBACOA TACO, and GRILLED PUMPKIN SEED TOFU TACO. My favorite was the jackfruit one. Others were okay. 3. CHURROS - Perfect way to end the meal!! 4. For drinks, we ordered a purista margarita and La Loteria (sweet) and both were good. It is over-priced given the quantity, so might burn your pocket. A must-try place!!

Absolutely stellar on all levels! I am beyond words of how to describe everything. The words seem shy of the true value given. Perfect in every way, yes. Every morsel a tastebud explosion of heaven, yes. Service top notch, absolutely. I was so impressed how they make Mexican food completely vegan and feel like nothing is missing! I will crave this place! A must visit every chance I can!

A great date night spot! Been here a few times and it never disappoints. Valet parking (also not pricey), beautiful outdoor seating area, delicious food and plenty of Gluten free & Vegan options! The vibe is great, the service is excellent, and if you’re looking for recommendations try: - Queso Fundido - Mushroom Quesadilla - Taco Trio And don’t miss out on one of their signature cocktails! Personal recommendation? Try the Tepache Hi-Ball. Amazing!

What a great spot! When I originally looked at their menu online I didn't even realize it was a vegan spot. I loved the decor of the place and the outdoor patio is beautiful. The food is incredible, and could satisfy even the biggest regular meat eater. We had the queso (so good), the potato flautas, and the churros. Service was lovely. 100% would go back again.
