I’ve never had a bad meal here. Everything from the sides to the sandwiches is always top quality and the portions are huge. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Mac and cheese bites. They are off the charts with the dipping sauce. I am a sucker for the nor’easter, chicken cutlets mozzarella bacon and bbq sauce. There’s more chicken cutlet and bacon on there than two sandwiches of any other deli. This is one of my favorite delis on Long Island.

I recently ordered a 3 foot hero (American and Chicken/Bacon) and it was fantastic! I've ordered hero for years from other stores and there is no comparison. I would HIGHLY recommend ordering from Hometown Heroes as you will not be disappointed.

We used Hometown Heroes catering for my daughter’s first birthday party and they were amazing! We ordered chicken fingers and French fries for the kids, salads, and the chicken cutlet hero with mozzarella and roasted red peppers. When I arrived five minutes early, they had the order ready to go and the staff helped me load everything into my car. Everyone loved the food and we’ll be sure to use them again for events in the future!

My husband and i found this shop on Instagram (we're foodies). We both love trying different places, but this was on another level. We drove almost 2 hours and it was totally worth it. I had the Mac Attack, which is basically chicken cutlet w/ macaroni and cheese on a hero. I had to bring it home because i couldn't finish it. My husband had their new sandwich (Jay Jay). It was fresh, filling, and delicious. Definitely recommend!!

The subs are HUGE and delicious! Toasted bread on hot heroes adds nice crunch. Very flavorful. Offer pickup and delivery. Very friendly staff and clean facility. Ordered the "Fursh" & "Buffalo Chicken" cutlet heroes. Chicken cutlets are made to order. Fresh, crispy and juicy. Also tried the tater tots with loaded sour cream on the side. It's mixed with shredded cheddar cheese and chives. Amazing!

Ordered a 6 foot Italian hero because I was too lazy to grill at my bbq. The family loved the sandwich and everybody got to take home left overs. It was still tasty the next day after I re-toasted the bread . I will def be returning .

Takeout order - no napkins in the bag or etc. Counter help was standard, do their job accurately and the food was prepared in a timely fashion. The Philly (Cheese steak) had fresh ingredients and tasted fine - but, there's better and not just in Philadelphia. The Manhattan (Roast Beef) was where the these Heroes hit a home run!! The gravy and sandwich flavors hit the sweet spot! I would certainly try them again!

Great spot for awesome heros. Stopped in for a little lunch on the go. The staff was super friendly, showed me the regulars and specials and answered the questions I had. I ended up ordering the Alamo hero. The bread was super soft, the chicken was perfect and the combo of flavors was amazing. The size of the hero for the price was very good as well. Highly recommend 👌

Go Here!! Try It!! Thats the best suggestion! This place makes crazy good food! Try the Mac Attack.... it is sick how good this hero is!! People are very friendly, very courteous, and FAST! Call ahead and they will have it for you!! Parking is a bit of a pill, but dont let that deter you! If headed to beach or park and want some take along food, perfect!! Give them a shot.... in this day and age, hard to find good food, good service all in same place!! Very nice place!!

Hometown catered our party and had the best price around. The heroes were delicious & salads. The place is new looking & immaculately clean, which is not common for delis.

Ordered the Italian with the works (no onions) on ChowNow. The sandwich was ready fast, made perfectly and delicious! The italian had great flavor and includes pepper ham, and cappy, which adds a little spice to the sandwich. The meats were high quality and the veggies were super fresh. One of the things I love about this place is the bread they use for their sandwiches. It is reminisent of the breads from White House subs in Atlantic City. Soft, white and dense. AND, the folks in the place were nice!

I have ordered from here multiple times and have always been so extremely happy with the quality of the sandwiches/ food. I finally stopped in today to order and met the people behind the counter. This family was so extraordinarily wonderful in their spirit, customer service and care. My little son was running around and they even gave him some cookies 🍪. A well deserved and homely review for a special place with great people.

Hometown Heroes is the spot to go for heroes. Forget subway or whatever place sells heroes and forget they exist. Every sandwich I've had from Hometown (which is almost all of them) was great. They're all generously portioned with quality ingredients. And that bread... I'm not sure if it's made in-house or sourced elsewhere, but they use the best bread I've ever had from a sandwich shop. I don't think I've ever had any of their sides except the good mozzarella sticks which were good, but I can't comment on the rest of them or their salads. Service is good, always greeted upon entering and leaving, the staff is always nice to deal with. The location is pretty good being fairly central to the greater West Islip area. Parking is kinda rough, especially on the side of the building.. I drive a low car and can't even get into the lot because you're basically driving over a curb.

Wow. That might have been the best chicken cutlet sandwich I've ever had. The bread is the bomb, and thank you for making the bacon extra crispy. Nice kids working there as well. I will be back for sure!
