I love Havana Cafe. It's one of the best restaurants in Ashe county. Their Cubans are really good and the black beans and white rice are delicious. The food is always on point, and after eating here for many years, I've never been disappointed. Their coffee is wonderful! If you're looking for a great coffee shop, look no further. I recommend trying a cortadito. Staff is always friendly, even when they're busy. Great place to eat.
I love Havana Cafe! I have to stop by every time I’m in West Jefferson to get a Cuban sandwich. They are delicious! The guy that runs it is super nice and just like everywhere else in West Jefferson the atmosphere is great!
First time here. LOTS of folks had told me how great it was! They were right!!! Best Cuban and Black beans and Rice I've ever had!!! Bring your patience because they are packed all day!!! Enjoyed sitting outside too! We'll definitely be back!!!
Excellent service that was friendly, inviting, and very personal to the customers. The food was great, some of the best Cuban food I've ever had. I always try the Cubana sandwich and the cook did an excellent job. Kitchen staff was friendly and brought out everything you need for each particular dish. Classic Cuban atmosphere with the bright colors and it's all tucked away in a small space to give you a warm space on the cold winter night. I highly recommend this spot if you are in West Jefferson, located right off Main Street in front of the farmers market.

I would say it’s the best Cuban I’ve had north of Miami, but not south of it. Service was on point, food was hot and I didn’t feel I wasted my money. I wish the flavors were more traditional and that they were more pronounced as a cuban. Everyone has their own recipe. I’d definitely comeback, best restaurant in Ashe county so far in my opinion.
A friend and I got the pulled pork grilled with onions and sides of black beans and rice. We both agreed it was very good, and if we are back in West Jefferson, we will eat here again.
If you want great Cuban food, go here. There is no décor or atmosphere, it's just a little hole in the wall. The food is outstanding!!! Great coffee too!
First Cuban food ever for me. Pork was good. Found out I liked black beans.

It’s really hard to find a Cuban restaurant. I certainly didn’t expect to find one in West Jefferson North Carolina. Havana Café was such a pleasant surprise.
I got empanadas, black beans and rice, and plantains. Cuban coffee to go with it. I really enjoyed it.
I live over an hour away, but I’m going to have to find excuses to go back and work my way through the whole menu.
Great food 😋. Really nice people. Made us feel welcome. The food was awesome and the service and prices were just as good. Thanks for a great dining experience.
The attention that each customer receives is balanced perfectly by the obvious love that goes into the food. 20 plus years living in miami come flooding back with the first bite.
Really enjoyed my Cuban at this restaurant. The bread was kinda different but good. It was sort of crispy or flaky. Delicious. Had some "Cuban" sodas that were yummy too. Júpiña is a pineapple soda and Ironbeer is kinda like an orange cream soda. There were a couple more choices too. The restaurant is relatively small but has plenty of tables for four. We pulled a chair up for 5. Everyone was nice and I would go back.
I have never had a bad meal here. I get the same thing almost every time I come and it is always delicious. I highly recommend the Patacon with extra garlic cilantro sauce. The cuban sandwich is also a good choice. Tony, the owner, greets everyone with a smile.

Really great cuban food. Had the cuban sandwich, some salsas and a beef empanada. All of it tasted amazing.
I love Havana Cafe! It is my favorite restaurant in West Jefferson. I would eat here every day if I could. My favorite is the Patacon but everything I've ever ordered has be delicious.
The food tasted great. I ordered the papa rellena de vieja with black bean and plantains. My family ordered a pork dish, fish dish, and fajitas. All of them said the food was good. My sister actually thought this place had the best fajitas she has ever had. The food was clean, simple and inexpensive with good portion sizes.
Although this was a diner style restaurant, the service was terrific. My party included a difficult group of 7 adults and 3 infants. They accommodated us in every way possible. By the end of the meal I felt like I had known the waiter and chef for years. If I ever stop by anywhere near West Jefferson, I will undoubtedly stop by here again.
