Smiling Hill Farm is one of my favorite places to visit. I have a season's pass for two and we love to visit all summer to see the wonderful animals. The staff are kind and friendly. The barnyard is so much fun to walk around and see all the adorable animals. With tokens you can feed many of the animals, which is also so much fun. It's great going in to the mama and baby goat area to meet them. The staff in the gift shop always provide answers to my questions about the farm and animals. The staff are friendly in the gift shop and dairy barn. The lunches and ice cream are also delicious. We will be visiting often this year and in the future.
Love Smiling Hill Farm - been visiting since my children were little and now bring the grandchildren! The staff are always friendly and helpful and the ice cream is great with good portions and price!! The animal barn is well maintained and the trails for cross country are groomed.
I brought my 4 yr old son to Smiling Hill Farm for his first attempt at cross country skiing. We had a blast and the staff was beyond friendly and so very helpful. My only regret is not bringing him sooner! Thank you.

We had the best time spending the day at the Barnyard climbing and laughing and feeding little animals! Such a great experience and a fun environment. We will be back again for sure!!!
Good place for the little ones brought my 3 grandsons 1 is 4 2 are 1 and they all enjoyed it. The food animals and ice cream. :)
Anybody who doesn't give this place an enthusiastic 5 stars needs a poke in the eye.
I have not been to smiley hill farm since my granddaughter was about 2-3 and now I am here with her family and the little great grand son. It was and stil is the best petting zoo ever. Can't wait to come back next year with him again
The kids are three and sixteen months. They loved the wooden truck, train, and plain and the John Deer dragon as much as the animals. Bathrooms are a little far away from the children's area, but we love that the kids can interact with the goats and sheep. We'd love if the staff were more interactive with the guests, teaching fun facts about the animals along with the descriptive signs. There was plenty there to fill an afternoon. We will be back.
We always have the best time here. My two year old loves to interact with the animals and play on the wooden structures! Plus the food and icecream is always delicious. We will be back again and again.
My young boys and I enjoyed our day at the farm. The animals are precious.
My very active 2 1/2 year old LOVED visiting the Barnyard! Between looking at the animals, playing on the wooden structures and slide there was plenty to keep him busy. Of course he also really liked the yummy ice cream. We had kids from 14 to 2 with us and all of them were entertained. Great place for family fun!
EXCELLENT PLACE to take the kiddos. Clean, beautiful, so many animals, terrific staff, great ice cream. A few more benches for tired Grandparents would be nice. But great place to visit. Do NOT miss out on the baby goat snuggling. Schedule on line
I took my partner here because they have never pet a cow before. I was a little nervous about going since the reviews were somewhat mixed but…we both had the absolute time of our lives!! The barnyard exhibit was huge, had amazing staff, and all the animals looks very healthy and had pretty size-able exhibits. The animals in the petting area were so so sweet and loved the scratches!! Will definitely be coming back with some more people! Highly recommend taking a morning to go!!

I have only been a handful of times now but I love their flavored milks! The ice cream is good too.
I wish they had all the flavors of milk that they are supposed to have on their website but I know some are probably seasonal and they are working on finding a substitute for the coffee milk.
Has bathrooms and even a little dining area.
You do need to pay a bottle deposit charge since the bottles are glass but it’s totally worth it since you can just roll over the deposit to your next bottles.
I try to come every two weeks, and I’m about 40 minutes away. It’s well worth the travel. I haven’t been during the summer yet but I’m sure it’s just as good, if not better!
I will buy 6 quarts of milk at a time when in the area to bring home to MA. The flavored milks are delicious but the full fat chocolate milk is hands down the best I've ever had. It's like drinking liquid chocolate soft serve ice cream but even better. Upon grabbing a small bottle, it didn't make it off the farm road before I ravenously consumed its liquid loveliness.
My favorite dairy farm with some of the BEST local ice cream. We got a few different flavors and watched the cows while we sat and enjoyed our treat. They have a bunch of flavors and other things to do on the farm. Great for families, bring the kids to the petting area! Support local farmers and local businesses.
Great place to bring the kids. Great educational pieces about milk production. There is a petting zoo, playgrounds, you can see the barn and the babies. The food is cafe sandwiches that are so good. And an ice cream scoop counter. They also carry other Maine made products. Great place to also grab some Maine Made souvenirs
Awesome place. Only visited the dairy store so far to return some bottles and get more milk, half and half and a pint of ice cream my daughter picked out... It was all very creamy and thick. Haven't tried their meat yet. Plan too in the near future. Can't wait to walk around with the kids. 10/10 Highly recommend
Super fun spot. Amazing ice cream. You can get chocolate milk in your shake for added flavor. Great real fruit blended into the strawberry icecream. Great dairy products in general. Awesome time for the family. Smelly cows. :-)
