JR’s chicken salad is always my treat whenever I have shots in my eyes once a month. Doesn’t help my eyesight but Damn sure improves my disposition!! And the buttermilk pie is just like my grandma’s. I highly recommend taking the time to visit with them. You’ll love the food and company.

Good place not just for there meat but-bakery. I eaten kolaches all my growing up life ,can't find them hardly anywhere,but ya can here. Makes me think of my sweet mom too she always made the best. So yea I'm glad I can still get them here,thanks
Thank you very much for supporting Veterans with your 15% discount. I went on my first hunt 3 weeks ago. Was fortunate enough to get an Axis. Had no clue where to take it to be processed. Some close friends of mine, who are avid hunters, recommended Juniors. I am really glad they did. The gentleman in the back was very helpful in his recommendations with this first timer.
IMHO- In all the places in an around Wharton/El Campo that are known for their BBQ, there is no better sliced brisket sandwich to be had than the one at Junior's Smokehouse on Hwy 59 at Mackay!!!
PS: take a quart of chicken salad home with you and impress the ladies in your life!

What an amazing stop along Hwy. 59. Great food; but it was just a joy to see such jovial and seemingly happy employees. Even had the owner come out to greet me and introduce himself. What a class man; very easy going and a true treat to meet. I'm certain it's a loving work environment, a treat to witness. I had brisket, sausage and a pork rib and everything was tasty and very tender. Hats Off Crew; easy to tell God has you...... Looking forward to stopping by again. Loved the turkey jerky and the pork loin is superb. God Bless & God 1st..... oh I'm kicking myself for not getting some jerky dip; looked tasty?
The sliced beef brisket sandwich is about as good as it gets. Great sausage & jerky too.
The bbq brisket sandwich is out of this world and the bakery is awesome

Junior's Smokehouse is the BEST!! They gave us a survival pack when we went to Houston to help the hurricane Harvey victims. Truly amazing people! The brisket tacos, survival sticks, and jerky were amazing! Thank you for everything! I'm a lifetime customer from now on! #TexasHelpsTexas

Really good experience, the people attending were very nice and the brisket sandwich was super good and big! It was a little cold but size and flavor super good. The store looked a little empty one the shelf’s but we got most of what we need. Definitely I will stop for my sandwich next time.
The sausage was the star of the show. Had a good texture, nice flavor, and not overly greasy. 8/10. The brisket had smoke flavor, good overall tenderness. It was lacking in seasoning on the bark, but still decent. 6.5/10. The sauce was good, just a little sweeter than I prefer, but I know some who would love this sauce.
As a lifelong critique of klobasnikis and the Czech sausage within, I have to give Jr's 5 stars every time. The store is located in a great spot that doesn't get too busy, and it has a great atmosphere.
Fun fact - you can get a pre-cooked brisket from Jr's! And the overall meat selection is very VERY good!
But the star of the show is the pork and beef sausage that put Jr's on the map. Absolutely a family and personal favorite!

Whether for a quick fixing lunch or on the road snacking, this is a quality place minus the hustle and bustle of traffic. Great service, friendly atmosphere, cozy and extremely clean. A must stop shop. Wait time for any meal takes a few minutes, but it's worth it.
Madison delivered amazing customer service! Lane (owner) was welcoming and helpful and has created a stop-worthy jerkey that you cannot pass up! (Recommend the Bohemian garlic!)
Some of the nices people around. I can talk all day with them. I been looking for the big peanut patties for a long time and found them there. I bought 3 and already ate one. The prices on the meats are good and reasonable. If you have never been there you really should.
Bought a few preseasoned vacuum sealed steaks from this place. They were the tastiest most tender steaks I’ve ever made! And the people were so down to earth. I try to stop by here every time I pass through.
Stopped here for the first time on our road trip home and got some great spicy treats! The jalapeño sausage sliced up for the road was perfect. Also ghost pepper and hot and spicy jerky. Jalapeño survival sticks as well, such an incredible variety! The girls were so sweet and extra helpful! A must stop!
Great Brisket and Sausage! We stopped by here on our way back to Houston and loved it! The brisket was our favorite, we got a combination of the lean and marbled brisket as well as the buttered potatoes. Both of these items are so tasty! The barbecue sauce is a tad too sweet but otherwise it's not bad. I would definitely recommend trying this place out!
Friendliest people I could have ran out of gas within a mile. Helped me get gas in my tank, well fed, good conversation, and back home to my family. Food was great! Jerky is very good.

The food was really good I got a sausage burger the Burger alone was around $10, but worth it because the sausage was literally falling out of it that was so much in there, and it was honestly very filling and really good. I also bought some survival sticks 3 cheese, and those were really delicious.
I Had a very nice conversation with one of the owners, he was very sweet, which made my visit all the more pleasant. I will be stopping there again when I get a chance.
Decided to stop by this place since I was in the area. The sliced brisket plate had a decent amount of meat with a fair mix of lean and fatty pieces. I chose to get the potato salad as a side and was recommended the buttered potatoes as the other side. Both were delicious. The pimento cheese sandwich piqued my interest so I will definitely have to come back to try that sometime. I will also say that it was busy when I came through but the staff managed to keep up with the crowd with no problem at all.
Server could of been nicer🤣, kid at register was awesome 👍, bought this Hatch Chile and put in ckn Flautas, and in my cachete barbaquoa, it was soooo good!!!👍👍👍👍👍 From me!!
BBQ chicken is my favorite, but the sausages and Jerky are amazing, service is amazing. Local Fresh BBQ, must stop by.
