The thai food is authentic and delicious. However the inside dining option is not that pleasant. They gave us plastic utensils and to go boxes for dine-in. But I appreciated the reasonable price and the taste of food. Spicy enough🌶️ for spicy lovers :)
The food is great but I have a gripe with the price. $17 for a dish and with tip, that's $20! Ouch. I think I am going to go elsewhere as it's good food but way too much money for what I get. Maybe if it is at a fancy place, I can see paying more for the atmosphere but it's a hole in the wall with fancy restaurant pricing.
Super friendly service. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Food is AMAZING! I had the Massaman Curry, Chicken Pad Thai, and Mai Thai Sampler. Not to be dramatic but the food here did cure all my generational trauma. Will definitely be returning!
I love this little place. But be aware.. spicy is SPICY... SPICY!! I get medium spicy and usually get spicy menu items and my nose is running haha. We usually get the pad thai and the rama chicken.
First time ever and the food tasted great. Huge portions. We split an appetizer & a meal between 2 of us and still couldn't finish it all.

Wanted some Thai food and found this place walking around. All the workers are so nice and the service is impeccable. The food came quick and everything is as is advertised. Will come back again!
Excellent Thai with quick service. Noodles, rice, and curry are fantastic. Flavors are full and rich. Eat in or take out. My favs are the Pad Woon Sen and Massaman Curry. Also love the Thai Coffee. Food is served hot and made of fresh ingredients.
So pleasantly surprised to find this place! I moved to Wheaton a little bit ago and have been trying to find a good Thai place in/near downtown and was about to lose hope until I found Mai Thai Cafe! I ordered the pad thai with chicken and mild+ spice level. The amount of food was great for the price and everything tasted fresh. The mild+ spice level was perfect for me as someone who is pretty sensitive to spice;- it provided flavor without having an aggressive kick to it. I am looking forward to having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
Hidden around the corner on Main street Wheaton, Mai Thai Cafe serves up great food in a simple atmosphere. We ordered Pad Kee Mao and curry fried rice per Ben's ( Mastro of this restaurant) suggestion. The spice level was on point since we enjoy spicy food. There are few Thai restaurants in Wheaton but the simplicity and the customer service from Ben along with delicious food makes this place unique. At the time of arrival, this tiny self-serve restaurant was packed with regulars. This is definitely a culinary gem that I will return to.
I could have easily given this place a 5-star rating but the guy at the desk was either having a bad day, didn't like me or he just hated his job and didn't make it a very pleasant experience but the food is awesome.
Really good quality food. The chicken I had in my dish was much more fresh and not rubbery like other places. The decor is very bland and basic. I will continue to order out from here, but isn't somewhere I'd go on a date for the atmosphere.
My friend and I both had delicious Chicken Pad Thai! The servings were huge, enabling each of us to take half of each serving home. Orders are taken at the counter and brought to the table once prepared. I had spicy, friend had medium. Both seasonings were as expected, great and yummy! Orders all served in "to go" packaging. 4-5 tables available. Will certainly return! No ambiance but great food and friendly folks!

This is some of THE BEST Thai food I have had. First off I love the simplicity of the restaurant, it's no frills, clean, and feels homey. And the balance of the spices and flavor was on point! I had the Pad Thai with chicken, crispy veggie spring rolls, and lunch came with a simple yet VERY FLAVORFUL hot and sour soup, which was perfect on such a cold dreary day. I ordered my Pad Thai medium spice and it was perfect, the best part was that as I ate the spicyness was consistent throughout the entire dish. This place is a gem!
