If you live in Montgomery County near Glenmont/Wheaton/Silver Spring/Rockville and are looking for an "excellent" local Italian restaurant, I highly recommend Cristina's Ristorante Italiano on University Blvd in Wheaton. Food, service and atmosphere are GREAT. Tell the owner, Nick, that Erik and Wendy sent you...
I Had the Baked Stuffed Eggplant14.95 Stuffed with Spinach, Ricotta Cheese and Topped with Mozzarella and Marinara Sauce. It was amazing. Nick greeted us and wished us well when he left.
Fabulous! You wouldn't think this for the small sad-looking out side, but the inside is buetifle and resembles fine dining. The portions are generous, the food was great, the prices were a bit high but good considering the area you are in (so close to Washington D.C.) overall great!
Amazing food and amazing service! We were in DC for the day and decided we wanted Italian, found this gem through reviews. Don't be fooled by its looks. We would recommend this place to everyone, best Italian food we've had!
Neighborhood Gem. A neighborhood gem - comfortable, welcoming and delicious food. The service throughout our dinner was outstanding and I just loved the feel of this restaurant. It is perfect for any occasion. True Italian cuisine. Bellissimo!!
Outstanding Event. We just hosted a group of 22 at Cristina's for a graduation party. The restaurant exceeded our expectations in every respect! Service was great, lead waiter was great fun and very helpful, and all of the food - appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts - was fantastic - truly authentic Italian. They did a superb job of having everyone's meal ready at the same time, all cooked perfectly and at the right temperature. Considering we had Champagne and a few bottles of wine, the bill was very reasonable. I would go there again, and would recommend it without qualification.
Very good food. Do not be put off by the underwhelming decor. The food here is top notch italian. I have been here 3 times in the past month, never had the same thing twice, and everything has been delicious. The real highlight of the foods have been the sauces -- whoever is doing the cooking knows how to make awesome sauces. I read one of the reviews below which said the food was awful -- that person has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Trust the 91% that hit "like."
Myself and 4 friends ate at Christinas after reading the reviews from this site. We we were not disappointed. All 4 of us agreed that they had great service and served up one of the best meals I've had in a long time.
This is a quaint family place with a fairly extensive menu. Food is delicious. Wine selection is good but I rarely order anything other than their house red, it's one of the reasons I keep going back.
Gambieri fra dialvo. This dish, shrimp over linguine, is amazing. The shrimp are plentiful, the sauce is spicy and wonderful, and the linguine is perfect. I get it every time.
Wonderful dinner last night. Real Italian served by charming people.
This unassuming little storefront restaurant has fabulous food and very good (though sometimes socially awkward) service. Many people might expect a lower priced menu based on the quaint decor, but for those who are not trying to wow a date with glitz, this place will wow you with honestly gourmet food and authentic old world sensibities.
It's great.... ...and the food is fabulous!
Nice Neighborhood Place. We eat here about once a month. The staff and owners are always very good, making us feel at home. The food always comes out on time and is prepared well. The specials almost always tempt us off the regular menu with seafood offerings. We wish the place was bigger, or that it was easier to park in Wheaton, but they seem to always be busy so we assume that they are happy with where they are.
Only correction: the specials are usually in the $20-$25 range.
I was randomly in Wheaton and lucked upon this place. Great food and service. Little more costly than I thought but well worth it.
This restaurant could have some of the best italian food in the area. They have very good service and very fresh ingredience. Best of all the've got the best cannolis anywhere.
Awesome. Well, first of all on the wall's of this beautiful resturant is murals of I believe umm italy and also they always try to keep services moving and availible and that is why is is AWESOME
Romantic Italian food. Lisagna melts in your mouth. One of our favorite Valentine's Day traditions. Highly recommended.
This is one of the first places I moved to after moving to Wheaton. The service was great and accommodating. I had the lobster ravioli, which is unusually because I rarely purchase anything I make at home. But the way they made it was packing with flavor. I defiantly will go again.
Came in for a quick lunch. It's somewhat small and tucked away, but had already put up some Christmas decorations which added to the ambiance. Had the burrata and linguini al Vongole which I think is the same as the cover of their menu. Great flavors, the burrata was shockingly light and the Vongole was well cooked and very clammy. Service was great, but it was a slow Sunday, so hard to say when it got busy. Prices were a touch higher than what I would usually pay, but the place was the only Italian in the area. Overall a good meal.
I'm from near Baltimore and was visiting Brookside Gardens when I happened upon this restaurant. It was amazing! The Mediterranean Salad was outstanding, as the spinach was so fresh and crispy, with tasty pistachios and feta. The entree of Scallops and Shrimp were cooked to perfection as were the vegetables included in this dish. I cannot give enough accolades to this restaurant. This was undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences of my life!!!
The food was surprisingly good. My husband ordered the whild mushroom risotto and l ordered the fettuccine Mediterraneanu. We both were very happy with our food.
The service was super friendly, too. The ambiance was also lovely. We will be back.
Cozy little Italian restaurant in the middle of the city. Service was great and friendly without being overbearing. Food was delicious! We got a lovely, full meal experience. Highly recommend.
One tip: look up how to get there and where to park first. You can't park in front of the restaurant (at least not weekdays), but there are places to park nearby.
Great experience!
Meal with (added) chicken, wine, and split salad with my friend: total was $45. Well worth the money!
The food is good Italian food. It is a bit "Americanized" (heavier, sweeter sauces, and more proteins relative to vegetables than you would get with food in Italy), which is why only four stars for the food. Admittedly, I have not found more than a handful of restaurants in the area that have like what you would find in Italy.
The service is great. Attentive without being overbearing. If you are looking for a great dinner or lunch, this is worth it.
Thank God for the neighborhood restaurants that are convenient and good. Christina’s has been wrong a long time snd even though I rarely come I’m never disappointed! I had their specials roasted squash salad which was nice though a little heavy on the dressing. I also ordered the egg Parmesan which was delightful; plenty of sauce of you like it hearty. The bread is accompanied by a nice olive oil & Parmesan for dipping.
We called to have a large party come in for an early dinner and they accommodated very well. All the food was delicious and well prepared. Staff was attentive without being smothering...a rare skill! My only complaint is about parking. Parking is a premium since the free lot was full and the other lot was metered. Thankfully the first 2hrs are free. If we are back in the area, we will certainly return!
Last Thursday I went, I was attended by Elmer Hernández Excellent service and above all good attention, I hope they continue like this I will come back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a beautiful hidden gem! I am a MoCo gal and this was mine and my family’s first time eating here. We enjoyed every bit of it all; the service, the food and the vibe was exceptional. Christian was our server and served us with care. It is nice to know that something so good and so close to home.
