We went here for my boyfriends birthday dinner! Gavin was our server and he made our experience so amazing. The pasta was literally the best pasta I’ve ever had, we had the Parmesan wheel experience and Gavin talked us through it step by step and made the experience more pleasurable. The ambience was amazing , the wine was good. I have not one bad thing to say about this restaurant. I can not wait to be back!
My boyfriend took me here to celebrate my birthday, it was our first time dining here. Emily was our server and everything was phenomenal! We had reservations prior to arriving and were seated promptly at our reservation time. The ambient lighting, delicious food and amazing service made for a great celebration for my birthday. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for making my birthday dinner one to remember 😊
We went to celebrate a birthday and asked for a romantic seating area which they gave us. We had the Wagyu Bruschetta, meatballs (beef, pork and lamb) and split the lasagna. Everything was amazing. Our waiter checked with us often. Birthday gift was a special touch. Thank you. Highly recommend.
We came here to celebrate our 2nd Wedding anniversary and had a great time! Our server Emily was fantastic and showed she cared we were celebrating a special day. We both got pappardelle pasta, my wife’s was a lemon butter sauce and mine was a truffle and shiitake mushroom sauce, we felt that my sauce was lacking a little flavor. The atmosphere was great and we had a perfect time here.
Came here for dinner while on a weekend getaway to the beach. From start to finish it was top notch. As an Italian and someone from New England with real Italian resturants everywhere, this place is real deal. Reservations and seating was smooth. We sat on the patio which was so nice, shaded and great ambiance. Our server was professional, friendly and on top if it. The food was AMAZING. Calamari cooked to perfect. The seafood super fresh and clean. Even our son's pizza tasted like brick oven pizza back home. Thank you for a great dinner!
We went on a Friday night --- place was packed and got that way shortly after opening. My wife ordered a dirty martini and myself an Old Fashioned. Both were great. Ordered the shrimp diavolo for an appetizer [pictured] and it was excellent. Honestly, that and the drink would have been enough. But that is not why we were there. We could not wait for the main course. With a glass of wine from their list; we both enjoyed our choices.
My wife ordered the small portion of the spaghetti and meatballs. It was just the right amount of pasta after the appetizer that she was full but not overly stuffed.
Myself, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan [pictured]; which is my go to Italian meal. Honestly, I do not think I have had any better. Both were from the homemade pasta and that was the best pasta we have had in a long time. Cooked just right, not too stringy or tough. Just perfect. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is traveling to Wilmington or lives there.
ADVICE --- we got our reservation for Friday night; on the Tuesday before. 5pm was the only time slot available. And this is non-peak season. Just think what is it like in the summer?? Get those reservations in and quickly. They fill up fast. Not much of a chance for walk-ups either. Book the reservation and be glad you did.
ADVICE 2 --- they have a bar, but it is cocktail only there. They do not serve food at the bar. Which brings up the reservation part again. Just get one.
Best Italian food we have had in years. I wish they would Uber Eats to the DFW area we would so pay for it!!!
The waitress and good were great!! They had the flaming wheel of Parmigiano cheese so we did that and it was fun to watch.
Delightful dinner and experience. The service was excellent as were our dishes. We had the Brussels Sprouts(goat’s milk burrata cheese on the side, which became a table favorite for dipping the bread) for and an appetizer and they were so tasty! I ordered a special, Bronzino filet over risotto that was special made, without cheese, and it was amazing! The pasta and pizza dishes were also fabulous.
This place has amazing Italian food! My wife and I came here on a date night. Our friend told us to get the spaghetti al formaggio and it did not disappoint! Don’t forget to add on the meatball! The dish is fresh bucatini noodles in a light marinara tossed in a flaming parmigiano reggiano cheese wheel - what’s not to love! We also got the Wagyu bruschetta appetizer which is another thing you can’t skip. Worth visiting!
We had a wonderful dinner before heading over to the Wilson Center to see a play. We split a garden salad, it was more than enough and very good. I had the shrimp and sausage pasta special it was wonderful and so flavorful. my wife had the Beef Braciole. She makes a great one - she said this was really good - :) Four stars for service as it was a bit slow and we were there at 5:15 and the place was empty. No surprise by the time we left the place was packed. Had been several years since we were there - won’t be that long before our next visit. Thanks for a great dining experience.
Tarantelli's was awesome! It is located in its own large building downtown and has a nice vibe. I loved all of the food we tried. The house made pastas and marinara sauce were very authentic tasting. I had the eggplant parmigiana as my main course and it was one of the best I've ever had. There's also a great wine selection list here with many Italian wines to choose from.
Holy wow, Wilmington! The only negative thing I have to say was my fault. I felt underdressed... that being said, our waiter made me feel perfectly fine being so.
I had the house special (pasta with sundried tomatoes, shrimp, sausage and a wine sauce) and my wife had their version of veal marsala.
15 out of 10....
The waiter suggested the Filet Bruschetta.... people.... you are missing out if you've never tried!!!!
We also had Gelato for dessert and the assortment is PERFECT for 2 people.
Hearts and Stars Taratelli's
By far one of the best Italian meals we’ve had in a long time. It’s as authentic Italian as you can get. The ambience was fantastic, and the food was even better. You can really taste how fresh the food is and the menu had so many good options. A bit pricey, but well worth it for a fine dining experience. Reservations strongly recommended.
Wow, food was so good. It was so worth the money to get the cheese wheel, we were lucky to get our meal from a new cheese wheel. We split the pasta between 3 people and we were full. Meatballs were so soft and flavorful. Espresso martini was smooth too. We reserved ahead of time. Would recommend to anyone who loves Italian food.
Impeccable service!! I very much appreciate your patience with my late arrival for my reservation. The meatballs are to die for 💀. Get the Negroi with End of Days Gin
We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer & it was delicious. One of us ordered the flounder special and said it was the “best flounder dish” he’s ever had. Two of us ordered the spaghetti made in a parmesan wheel. Gavin was our waiter, he was fantastic & very attentive. This place is a gem.
