Opening day seemed to be a great success for our favorite local spot! Chef Dan is serving up homestyle cooking inspired by his own South Dakota roots as well as the roots he’s laid here in the Winchester area. With items that are familiar to his original bistro theme (like the famous grilled cheese) and some tasty new additions, there is not one thing on the menu that i would not have ordered. If you get nothing else, make sure to try the loaded baked beans, a recipe from his mother. I could have eaten the biggest bowl of those alone! The service, even in a busy opening day setting, was welcoming and the epitome of southern hospitality. They still have a fabulous selection of beer and wine at a reasonable price available for to go sale and for you to enjoy with your meal. Don’t miss this place! This will definitely continue to be one of our most favorite local eats!

Fast friendly service. Best beer and wine selection in Old Town Winchester. Great food for fair prices. Quaint atmosphere inside and nice sized patio seating outside. Will definitely be back!

The food was perfection! The quiche was incredibly fluffy, the pork chops succulent, the Mac n cheese and baked beans delicious. The Brussels sprouts will keep you coming back for more! My favorite thing was the fried chicken livers. And then, there was that coconut cake!!! Light, creamy and wonderfully coconutty. Chef Dan hit it out of the park!! FIVE stars!!!

My son and daughter-in-law took me here for a Mother's Day lunch. We had a great waitress and the quiche with soup/salad was delicious. Already making plans to go back.

Stopped in Winchester VA on the way back from visiting family and had some amazing food. These house made hush puppies were awesome. The honey butter (not shown) served with the puppies were simply delectable. Also had to try their fried green tomatoes. The special of the day was bacon and cheese quiche with side salad. My eyes were bigger than my stomach so most of this came home but totally worth it. Their wine and beer wall is very cool too. I ended up buying a few bottles from off the wall. They also have some vintage artwork on the walls.

It was a beautiful day for a road trip to Winchester, VA. We were looking forward to enjoying lunch outside in the November sunshine. Our first choice didn't pan out and we then stopped at Water Street Kitchen - which should have been our first choice all along! We enjoyed our lunch on the Walking Mall and did a little people watching. Our lunches were very good (except I forgot to request lightly toasted on my Ruben), the fries were hot and plentiful. Our server was great! The receipt says Sizzler (18). He took very good care of us. My daughter enjoyed the Chicken Caesar wrap. Not the least expensive lunch we've ever had but we enjoyed our Water Street Kitchen experience.

Atmosphere was amazing, you’re overwhelmed by all the alcohol selections; which was a good thing. Service is friendly, menu is simple, food is delicious, and again the alcohol selection!!!! Clean place, plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. Great spot tucked away in old town. Highly recommended

First time here, but certainly not the last! We started first with the fried green tomatoes and hush puppies. Both were outstanding. The tomatoes were cut a little thicker than other places but stayed juicy. The hush puppies were sweet and the honey butter was incredible. The housemade Chipotle Ranch went well on both as well. They need to do fried pickles with the tomato batter! For brunch, I had one of the specials, the Monte Cristo, and crispy brussel sprouts. I will hold my Monte Cristo standards to having French Toast now, it should be on their regular menu! The brussels were amazingly crispy. My husband had the Philly Cheesesteak. The bread was a little soggy and though it could benefit from an additional cheese, but was seasoned well. He had the side salad with honey poppy seed dressing- the best salad dressing ever! They should bottle and sell. The Harvest Mimosas were amazing. If you're going to have more than 2, highly recommend the carafe for the better deal. Trust me, you'll want more than 2! We can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu soon! Also highly recommend Emaleigh as a server as well. She's very personable and made excellent recommendations. Next time, we'll be requesting her section for sure!

Love this little place! Great beer selection and wonderful staff. Very few of us ate any food because it was intended to be a happy hour.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved going here! The outdoor seating is perfect at sunset! The hush puppies (with yummy honey butter!), salmon, fries, cornbread, and mac and cheese far exceeded my expectations, but what really pulled the experience together was Shawn! He was such an attentive and accommodating waiter. The price was great for the quality of the food and the service. Thank you Shawn!
