It was awesome! Very friendly and inviting, the building itself was a piece of art that I suggest everyone pays attention to when you visit. It's absolutely beautiful! The food good, definitely above an average taste for the food we ate. The price was proportionate. I would for sure eat there again!

Reviews made it seem like the place is inconsistent so perhaps we came on a good day. Chicken fried chicken was tender, well seasoned, and the gravy perfectly thick. We had no issues with the service and the place was clean. Fun decor for sure.

Service was not bad, but the food was just terrible. Steak was overcooked to the point of ruined, and I asked for a medium rare burger so it would be a little pink in the middle when I got it. Nope, came out overcooked and dry. And the wait time for our food was entirely too long. Clearly because they were overcooking it. Won't be back to that place again.

Our server was exceptional! Great environment. I ordered the chicken fried steak and my daughter ordered the hangover burger with a side of mac and cheese. Everything was delicious!

The place is nice for a small town! It gives you their style of dining which is important. We went there to enjoy a great meal. Plus to watch KU play on one of the big TVs that they have throughout the restaurant. You can either eat inside or outside on the second-floor patio. It was my two friends and me who went there right before the big game started. We had a booth by a window and it was quiet at first. Our waitress was a student who attends Cowley CC. We started with drinks and were planning to get wings for an appetizer but they were sold out. So we then decided on chicken fingers and told her to have them cut in half. They came out nice and hot plus french fries with bbq sauce and ketchup. We then went ahead and order the main dish as we were not in a hurry to eat and run. After all, we went to enjoy a nice relaxing time. We all order different kinds of streaks. Two people order KC strip and I order the sirloin steak. All the meals came with two sides. The salad was extra as it was not offered. A few minutes later the salads were brought out and so freshly made with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, and salad dressing that you put on yourself. We added cheese and needed double-dressing twice to cover the lettuce completely. As we were starting to eat our salads than a short time later out of the blue here is coming to the streaks. That didn't sit well with any of us. I told our waitress that if my food was cold that I would send it back. We went to have a great meal. Not again a fast-paced meal. The others were happy with their streaks after eating the salads. I finished with my salad and took one bite of each thing it was not hot so it went back to the kitchen. To be honest the second plate of food looked better than the first plate served to me. The streak was juicy and had a great taste plus the homemade mashed potatoes were so delicious. Along with nice hot gravy. The carrots were great and hot as well. The meal was missing the crackers for the salads and we all agree about that. Because you need that to balance it out. The streaks were missing that added addition of either hot dinner rolls or Texas toasted that should come for that price. As we always get that at meals elsewhere. Our waitress never shared her name from the beginning! That is a minus because that is very important in connecting with your customers. She did a great job in checking up and keeping all the glasses filled up and we liked that.

The food was great. Chicken fried chicken was very tender. The server was very friendly. Seems to be a very popular local place.

I've been here only twice, and other than the decorations, the two visits were nothing alike. August of 2019 - Very pleasant visit, polite employees, really good food, and good prices. May 28, 2021 - Disappointing. Several female employees standing around at the front register gossiping with each other. Dirty silverware. Very unorganized serving...one person takes the order, someone else actually serves everything to the table, another person clears empty dishes, and someone else cleans the table off after. I hope they're sharing those tips, since no one person is actually earning it. On to the food. No kind of bread or dinner rolls were served. The salad was like a bowl of kale, instead of lettuce, so I couldn't eat it, but I still paid for it. Appetizer showed up within a minute of the meal, so it was set aside to get cold instead of the steaks. Steaks were burnt on the outside, and the knives were not sharp enough to cut them without quite a bit of effort. The carrots were so sweet that it kinda defeats the purpose of having a vegetable. The potatoes weren't very warm and were quite bland. The small scoop of macaroni and cheese wasn't what I expected for $8 either.

This is my first review in a while and this one is a great little place to start! Shindigs is located in the small Kansas town of Winfield and has taken a theme and run with it in such a beautiful direction. They've been in business for several years now and considering the state of affairs for the last couple of years that's saying something! Good drinks and even better food, so if you find yourself in this part of Kansas treat yo'self and stop in. One last thing, if you need a charge they also took it up a notch and have installed the only EV charger in a 40 mile radius.

We recently were visiting Winfield from Topeka and went to this place for lunch. We'd ask for a table and to make it downstairs as we had one in our party that could not do stairs and we were brought to a rather large Booth which had a caution wet sign in front of it when we went to sit down we found that the whole floor was completely soaked with about a half inch of water pointed this out to the waitress and the hostess who really didn't seem to care and were rude with poor attitudes told us it would be fine so it was the only place offered to us to sit. I had on a brand new pair of shoes and tried very hard to not put my feet on the floor because of all the water that was not even attempted to be cleaned up and ended up getting my shoes wet. So they are ruined . They are all stained I contacted this establishment through a private message and I've waited a week and got no response so now I'll do a public review..... the food was decent, service was poor, with an attitude from the moment we walked in the hostess seem to have an issue with being at work that day. And the fact that my shoes got ruined ,and no one seemed to care is really a poor business attitude to have and that I've given you a week to respond to my private message without any response kind of explains why the employees have such a poor attitudes when you have such a poor business ethic to begin with in the owners or managers. Not really sure I would return to this place nor recommend it with this kind of behaviors going on.

Great food we had the burger it was thick and good fantastic raspberry tea and or waiter was really nice and Johnny on the spot the decor is really cool 😎 I remember the way the place use to look when it was a gambinos the owners put a lot of money into the place I can’t wait to go back when it’s a little cooler and sit on the patio the beer bar upstairs is super neat filling up beers from the bottom up from the front of a old Chevy .. very nice restaurant

Been there twice. Love the place and wait staff And very impressed with the food. It’s delicious and not your typical cheap bar food. This food is much classier. First class bar and grill!

We stopped in for a light snack before a sad day in court (what can I say, we are emotional eaters lol). Once that part of our day was over, it was time to celebrate our sister’s milestone birthday and decided to shake off the sadness of the day and head back to celebrate at Shindigs! We asked for our same server, Tyler, and actually sat in the same seat. He was as attentive the second time as he was the first. On our initial visit we got the appetizer sampler that had pretzels, a delightful cheese sauce, House made chips, and these adorable little grilled sausages! Our second stop for celebration dinner included one of the best made Manhattans I’ve experienced, thanks to bartender Joey! The chicken fried steak the birthday sister got was aahhmaazzing! I was being a food snob and got the filet which was cooked a little less than I normally order but exactly how I liked it. I forgot to mention the fried okra was not chopped but the whole pod was fried ... wow and yumm!!! Bonus: if you order a beer when the railroad arms are down, it comes with a huge discount. You guys made a pretty crappy day, tolerable. Good food, great service, family and great bourbon always tend to make my days better, lol. Thanks again Tyler and Joey

The building is incredibly decorated. Warm but fun. We were seated right away, our waitress was great and our food was prepared very quickly. Got the chicken frizzled steak, generous portion. Menu is limited, but what we had was yummy!! We will go back again.

My wife and I and two other couples did A Saturday evening dinner here. Each couple ordered the Tomahawk steak “ be advised to order it as soon as you sat down it takes a while to cook “ The steak was amazing very delicious! We had time to visit and take in the uniqueness of this restaurant and visit with a few staff members and the general manager which were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurant. We also ordered three different types of appetizers also very delicious. We will be back it is definitely worth the drive from Wichita!

How could you give them anything but 5 stars? Great atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food are all here. Two of us had the fish &n chips. It was hand battered and perfectly fried. The ff were great too. My grandson had the Hangover Cure hamburger minus the egg and loved it. My Granddaughter had the mac n cheese and garlic potatoes and loved them. Our waiter was exceptional. He paid enough attention to us to make sure all of needs were taken care of but didn't bother us in anyway. We will definitely return.

The food is great however every time I’ve went to eat there I have been asked to choose something else from the menu because they were out of my original choice. I’ve been there 4 times.

The food, and service was great! I really like the way they transformed the train station into a dining experience. The men's bathroom is unique! Very nice and upscale restaurant, but has a casual dining persona so whether you dress up or dress down no one feels out of place. We will definitely drive from Wichita and go back for seconds!

We recieved a gift card for Christmas and I will admit I was optimistic at first but when we used it I was pleasantly surprised at the decor and your staff..Your food and employees was excellent. You have a very nice there Janet. Debra Pappan

I keep coming back because Its a really nice place, however the food has been trash every single time. At least make your food as good as the price of it.

By far the best steak I have had! Went in today for lunch and the experience was perfect! No wait, order taken fast and food was awesome!

There is very friendly staff, great design of the building very unique food was great will definitely go again.

The waitress was very rude. Slamming my kids and husbands drinks down on the table. No interest in telling us the nights specials. Did not ask what wine I was interested in. No name w this Asian looking waitress. Have no desire to go back

We rode with a group from Wichita and we enjoyed the bloody Mary's. The service was severely lacking and inattentive. The food was adequate at best. Decor was well done.

Winfields 5 Star Juke Joint! Normally we try to find a new restaurant to review when we go out to eat but tonight we just had to go back to Shindigs in Winfield KS because it is really that good. It was our fourth visit this year and tonight we decided to try most of the appetizers which we normally do not order but honestly they really looked good! The wings were well made and were a meal unto them selves, add in the devilled eggs which were tasty as well as elegantly presented on fresh leaves of cabbage. The loaded baked potato was awesome and honestly could feed two people it was so large. The soft pretzels were warm and soft and fresh and oh so good with the fried sausage wedges, cheeseburger dip and honey mustard sauce and I swear the potato chips were homemade but I could be wrong, they were just that good. We were not disappointed and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good meal in Winfield Kansas.

Worth the drive. Welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service and food! Very busy but totally worth the wait.

Delicious food .. presented nicely with large portions. Pleasant personalties of employees...we enjoy it there. Lots of TV's to keep up with sports while eating. We needed a nice place like this for quite awhile in our area.
