We always recieve great service and the staff is eager to help you find a beer you love. This is the best spot in town to get your beer for any occation. Not to mention it's a fun place to chill and try a new brew!
Great selection of beers, ciders, sodas and even creative blends. Staff are all very friendly and they know their products well. Free tastes before you buy. Cheap flights, half-pints, 32 and 64 ounce growlers, and some sweet merch like pint or tulip glasses, shirts and more. Family friendly so kids are always welcome and you wont feel uncomfortable bringing your youngsters. Great place overall.
I was apprehensive because I don't like beer! they have ciders and soda too. really great friendly staff and very knowledgeable. highly recommend. you can bring your own food too.
Love this addition to Winston-Salem and the Sherwood Forest area! Daniel and Melissa are fantastic proprietors, very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The store itself has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere with a massive eye-catching copper drip tray under the taps and an awesome owl mural painted by Melissa. The owl is reminiscent of the mechanical owl Bubo in the old 1981 Clash of the Titans movie! I also hear that some awesome steampunk-themed decor is in the works...
I can't say enough good things about their beer and cider selection. The options are color-coded so you know at a glance whether you are looking at an IPA, amber ale, stout, etc. Nearly 50 taps of delicious beer, with a mixture of local NC breweries and tasty offerings from around the country. Stop by today and ask them for a taste of what's good!
One of my favorite places in Winston.. 48 taps means you'll always have something yummy to choose from. Owners and staff are awesome and have answers to all your questions. Plus they do a great job of events.. Only wish there were outdoor seating.
Highly recommend the Beer Growler. Tons of beer on tap and you can pick some and take it home with you! Brilliant.

The franchise itself is a small business, with only a few operations. Thumbs up for small business and entrepreneurship!
This location is locally owned & operated as a family business. Thumbs up for that.
So we have all the great things about local business.
I don't think there's anywhere in 50 miles that has the selection they have here. They even have 3 or 4 taps used for sodas. You can treat your children to a unique soda while you enjoy a taste or two, or a flight sampler.
The family knows beer, and loves beer. They know the products they sell, and have meet many of the brewers of the beer they serve.
Make sure you check out the tap list. It shows what they have, and how much of it they have left (if the keg of what you really want is yellow or red, you better get over there!)
Best of all, in my opinion, is their growler policy. You don't buy a 32 oz or 64 oz growler, you buy a growler. If you took a 32oz the first time, and you want a 64 on the next visit, they just swap it. If you had a 64 for a party, and just want a 32 for now, they just swap it. No extra charge (unlike a certain grocery store I won't name)

These guys! Daniel and Melissa are probably two of the coolest souls waking this earth and they KNOW their beer! Ask them anything! Really! I challenge you to ask any random question to either one of them and not get an answer!
But I digress... They have an excellent selection and the knowledge to help out the most novice of beer lovers discover their new favorite!

The customer service I received here along with a super friendly staff was top notch. I was happy with the suggestions made after sampling a few ciders. If you live in WS pop by for some friendly knowledgeable people. I'm sorry I don't live closer!
First time visiting last night after moving back to W-S. Daniel and his store were a breath of fresh air; full of hospitality, knowledge, and energy at 9pm! Ridiculous amount of selection and he gladly accommodates test pours. Will definitely be returning.

I stopped in (drove 45mins one way) to check the place out during their annual No Shave November beard contest and it was well worth it.
They have a great selection of beer and everyone working was awesome. I ended up buying an awesome growler of a beer just because proceeds were being donated along with anything the beard contest raised. I would definitely recommend a visit. But watch out for the chairs! They have a built in lean back function thats half rocking chair-esque, half make you sh!t your pants.
A place to grab a beer with friends or solo. With more than 40 tap selections of local beers, you can’t go wrong. Bring your own growler or purchase their. You can also get a flight with 6 tastings. Pet and kid friendly, you can also bring food from outside. Perfect with Mr. Lu”s Chinese take out next door! Recently they had a beer & BACON pairing.....well, enough said.
Great experience and so many beers to choose from. Our bartender knew so much about each individual beer and was able to help my friend and I find one we were both able to enjoy! Will definitely be back!
I cannot overstate how much I love the Beer Growler. I’ve been a patron since they first opened their doors, and they have yet to disappoint! Fantastic beers from friendly, courteous staff. Daniel and his family run a tight ship, with exemplary beer selections and strong relationships with various breweries as well as great local food trucks. COVID-19 is forcing some temporary changes to how they do business, but they are bending over backwards to make sure everyone still has a great experience. I’ll be back soon for a pint and great conversation!
A warm welcoming atmosphere. A very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Dan, the manager, can answer all your questions about the vast selection of beers they have on tap. There are soft drinks on tap as well if you don't don't drink beer. There is pretty much something for everyone at the Beer Growler.
Love this place! Great selection of a wide variety of beers all written on a large, organized chalkboard of sorts grouped by styles. No real food is available, but Whitaker Square pizza will deliver! With a concrete floor that doesn't absorb sound, it can get a little bit loud and noisy when crowded making intimate conversation somewhat challenging - but other than that wonderful! Great staff as well!
Great variety of craft beers on tap, lots of new ones I’d never seen before. Definitely recommend starting with the beer flight! They also sell really yummy bags of popcorn by the register 😂
I wish they had more seating though, since it’s usually super crowded when I go after work
Friendly staff and great variety. The more we go back to visit, the more we like this place. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and will try to fit your personal tastes to whatever you would like to drink. You are allowed to sample a good portion of their selection before purchasing, so you can leave with a beer, cider, or soda you can really enjoy. And they have a great growler policy where you bring in a growler and get a token. They clean the growlers themselves so you don't have to worry as much about getting it super clean before bringing it back. Or if you don't want to get anything that day you can keep it for the next time you come in.
