The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Surprise! You can eat in and watch them fry chicken if there is room at the bar. You probably won't be able to finish the lunch box in one sitting. Don't forget dessert.

The chicken is fried perfectly golden and not too salty. Greens are absolutely perfect and those biscuits are to die for. They even stuck a few pieces of fatback in the box for my grandmother bringing back so many memories for her. And the staff is very kind -- excellent job!

I've enjoyed Chef Stephanie Tyson's food for years, mourning the loss of menu items like eggs sardou, a temporary loss of mambo chicken sandwiches, and the best bloody mary in town made by the best bartender/manager/brunch date (Kathy, you are missed!) WS could know. Now that I live in Ohio, I'm grateful I have Chef Tyson's cookbooks up north with me even if I have to drive back to NC now and then to stock up on grits and smoked turkey wings (and of course plan a meetup with friends at Sweet Potatoes while I'm in town). I was pumped to hear about the planned move to a larger location and the accompanying Miss Ora's Kitchen! More pumped to know I could help with the kickstarter and invest in a business and partnership that fed me for years, poured me the best drinks, played the best jazz, hung the best art, put still-popping pork rinds on my plate, and now and then gave me the best hugs. It shouldn't surprise anyone (I hope it doesn't) to find out that I planned a whole trip to NC around making it in to Miss Ora's Kitchen before closing time. I rolled out of Ohio at 10 am, and made it to WS at 5:15pm to see the line at Miss Ora's streaming out the front door. (A long line shouldn't ever be a deterrent on Trade St. Good food is like voting: STAY IN LINE! It's important!) It was worth the drive, and it's worth the wait! Some people might even say you'll do a happy dance when you see the menu board advertising the fact that the chicken is fried in fatback. (Maybe that was just me dancing, but I doubt it.) I ordered wings with mambo sauce, a side of greens and a side of mac n cheese. The place was so crowded I didn't see the banana pudding in the cold case and I regret not ordering that too. I don't even like sweets that much, I just know that Chef Tyson doesn't miss. It was nice to see familiar faces cooking right in front of me, and waiting with other folks smiling because they knew what they were about to eat, or couldn't wait to know. The chicken was perfect. Crisp, seasoned, both complex and simple. The greens were everything I've come to compare all greens against, and the mac n cheese was, well MAC N CHEESE! I didn't put the mambo sauce on the wings, but I didn't want it to go to waste. I'm not at all embarrassed to say I ate it with a spoon by itself. I don't get to WS enough, not as much as the 1st year I moved away, and I'm not sure how many times I'll make it in town in time for Miss Ora's, but I'll be damned if I don't try. Bravo Stephanie and Vivian! Thank you for helping me feel like I can come home again.

Stopped in to get a Lunch Box to go- the service was fabulous, friendly, and so fast! I was in and out and on my way home in 10 minutes. The chicken is truly delicious- seasoned just right and fried to perfection. Our pieces were moist and hit the spot. The potato salad was great and the biscuit was tender and tasty. This is a great addition to downtown eating- can't wait for my next trip.

We love Miss Ora's! I've been three time and the food is very, very good and surprisingly consistent. Simply the best fried chicken in the area, and the quality of the sides matches. Plus a little sweet potato visit from next door.

The food was yummy. Best collards I've ever had. The fried chicken is simple and simply wonderful. Best part of our lunch, today, was the warm welcome and sweet reception by Louise and all the folks who served us. Louise actually told us the story of Miss Ora and went next door to Sweet Potatos to bring over Miss Stephanie, the owner/chef. Awesome!

We went last week with family. They are open for take out or they have 2 tables out front. We had the fried chicken and sweet potato biscuit! Fabulous reminded me of my grandmother's fried chicken! Met Ms. Louise and she was wonderful, lovely soul. Will MOST definitely return.

I was in town for a conference this week and had the fish for lunch and some banana pudding for dessert. It was great! The food and service was phenomenal. Before we left I went back with 2 more co workers and had the chicken and it was great as well. Of course I got some banana pudding for the road. My co workers enjoyed it as well. If you are considering Miss Ora's Kitchen you should definitely go! You will be glad you did.

First time trying this. Oh, my! The fried chicken is amazing - cooked right there in front of you. The sweet potato tots were the real thing - nothing artificial there. The cucumber salad, wonderful. And, the sweet potato biscuits - what more can be said?! The welcome and the service were the best ever! Counter service, sidewalk eating, or take-out only - but who's to complain - With delighted customers to talk to, the entire experience was phenomenal. If you're especially blessed, you may get a bit of fatback to chew on. Took me back to my grandmother's kitchen. Thank you!
