Silver Moon is a great dive bar, kind of a hidden gem ! A couple of locals at Small Batch told us to check out Silver Moon and we are grateful that they let us in on the intel. The bartender and EVERY customer was awesome to us. It's a small space so you end up interacting with pretty much everybody, and we had a great time going back and forth with the local crew. Same scenario on the back patio, which has some more elbow room. A bunch of cool people, just sitting around talking about everything and nothing. Good times, very relaxed vibe even though you might think that it's a little rough on the eyes. It's a great spot, thanks Silver Moon crew, had a good time at your bar !

Lived in Winston-Salem for about 4 months and this just became my favorite bar. Chris is an excellent bartender and the place has a very welcoming feel. A bit small (so I imagine it gets packed when busy) but they have a nice wrap-around porch outside.

I have been sober for years, but if there is anyone or anyplace that could convince me to relapse it would James Douglas and Silver Moon. I have been by just to grab a cranberry juice and have felt completely comfortable. The bartenders and staff been exceptionally nice and helpful regarding my sobriety, but if anyone could talk me off the wagon and make me plunge back into the swirling abyss of fermented spirits it would be James Douglas's silver tongue and gentle yet firm touch.. Silver Moon is cheaper than therapy and sexier than AA.

Maybe this should’ve been a Missed Connection,” but I feel like I’ve seen that bartender, “James “ somewhere else. I was driving through East Bend recently, and saw someone strikingly similar looking, wearing nothing but chaps and tube socks, riding a cow down the road, with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. I also feel like I’ve seen him at this brewery called Hoots, getting harassed by stray cats in the parking lot. Either way, the Silver Moon is pretty solid.

I love this bar but am concerned James Douglas' belt is going to fall off since he insists on accepting his bartending tips in it. He flat out refuses to accept them by hand. Sometimes he will take them with his teeth. Dude has skills.
