From the moment we walked in the door, the service was so warm and welcoming through our entire meal. Try the wagyu, it was delivered by the manager (nice touch!) and so yummy. We enjoyed the Magno tango and Spicy Tuna roll. The creme brûlée and chai panna cotta were delicious too. I recommend to make a reservation, as it's a popular place and so worth it!

If you are looking for a good sushi place then this place is IT! Their Magical Dining menu is phenomenal, and includes a chirashi bowl as well as a choice of 2 signature rolls as an entree. Well worth the $35 for four courses!

Good tea. Good sushi. Good service. Everything I had was excellent and the staff was super attentive. Every server that went by was very helpful with clearing plates or filling drinks or whatever was needed. Our waiter was very helpful with suggestions and very personable. All in all, a great experience. I will definitely be going back.

Umi is by far my favorite restaurant in Winter Park! The fish is always fresh, and the staff is top notch. We get Umi at least once a week - either at the restaurant or for pick up. Some of my favorite dishes are the nigiri moriawase, chirashi and the Hokkaido roll. We just tried out their beer pairing menu, which was 6 courses of unique, delicious items. A big shout out to Rich, Jeannie, and the rest of the wonderful staff for making us feel like family!

Umi, Umi, Umi! So much to say, yet not enough at the same time. This is hands down a favorite for Sushi! Reservations were set, and kept on time, no wait/delay. Between the food, service, and ambiance of this restaurant, I can never get tired of coming back. We had David as our server, who was so polite and knowledgable with recommendations that I had to give a compliment to his manager Louie. To my surprise, Louie not only took into account the compliment but even brought out the owner who was there at the time, Miss Suzie. Suzie was such a delight, very welcoming, and made sure that everything was to our liking. Had the best Park Ave Rolls, Philly Rolls, California Rolls, Lobster Rolls, and everything tasted so good! Event the meats were delicious. There's no question that this is a MUST to try out if you are looking for a great Japanese restaurant where you will feel at home! HIGHLY Recommend!!!

Philly roll and shrimp & vegetables tempura were both delicious. I also tried Park Avenue Rolls that my husband ordered. It was phenomenal. It was my first time trying sake, I loved it. Sitting at a sushi bar, my husband and I also enjoyed seeing how sushi chefs were making the rolls. Great customer experience, friendly server, amazing sushi chefs, and delicious food. I definitely will come back to try other signature rolls😊

I love Umi so, so much. I have been here so many times over the past 5+ years and I can easily say it is one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to! I love creative and unique sushi rolls and that pretty much defines this restaurant - if you’re wanting to try new types of sushi you have never had anywhere else, check out Umi, and prepare for an incredible meal! I have had many different things from their menu. Some of my favorites - out of the things I’ve tried - include their whole squid (best I’ve ever had), pork belly appetizer, sweet shishito peppers, sea urchin, and many different rolls - New York Ave, Drunken Lobster, 70% Hamachi, Rollins, Park Avenue, Hokkaido, Blaze, Spitfire, and Mango Tango! HOWEVER, many more sushi rolls are incredible and easily surpass virtually all other sushi restaurants in Orlando. Those are just my favorites!! Go to their website and just take a look at how incredible their entrees look - I have not gotten a chance to try the entrees yet as I always come here for sushi, but I’ve oftentimes walked past people sitting outside Umi on Park Ave. with their entrees and they look insanely good. It’ll take a long time to try everything but I do think it’s pretty safe to say they REALLY know what they’re doing here at Umi and you can order whatever you want and be completely blown away. Umi is one of the very best restaurants in all of Orlando and entirely worthy of visiting - it’s one of my favorite places and always one of the first restaurants I take people when they’re visiting! Do yourself a favor and head here next time you’re craving sushi because you’ll love it!!

It's rare I have bad experiences at any place I choose to spend my money at. With this review, I had to truly think before typing. Only because I had an overall GOOD EXPERIENCE, there were a few glitches in the system. The service was ok. A little all over the place. Let's just say it's different strokes for different folks, and this restaurant didn't meet my expectations. The menu is overpriced and not so good service. Well, at least our group didn't receive the best service. The atmosphere was awkward. Now my lunch was pretty good. It's a little too bland for my taste, but overall, good. The presentation of the food was great. Try it for yourself if you're in the area. Maybe your experience will be better than mine.

Very satisfied with our visit. We got the kanpungi for an appetizer. It was sweet and savory, crispy chicken. Very good. For our entrees we ordered the Rollins sushi roll and the mango tango roll. Bother full of flavor and hit the spot. Our server was very knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly.

Incredible food and experience. The servers are fantastic and the sushi is to die for. I got the Krab Rangoon and fire fly role. Ice cream tiramisu was delicious! Wine selections are also great.

This was a very nice atmosphere with even nicer staff. The restaurant was clean and well kept. The food was absolutely so fresh and scrumptious, I could recommend most things! The employees and our waiter were all so friendly and very attentive. The serving sizes were good & prices not bad either! Would definitely recommend coming in.

I've been going here for a few years now, and Umi has had its ups and downs. Obviously, with small businesses recovering from the blight of an era we know as Covid, staffing and supply chain issues still linger in the air. However, this restaurant still manages to keep a unique menu for the area. This menu is exactly why we came to visit. As we entered Umi around 7 pm, we were greater by a sweet young lady who asked for our reservations. I've never known Umi to have reservations or for being too busy, so that was a great surprise. My wife and I opted to sit at the sushi bar for our quick bite. One thing bugged me at the time of seating, the restaurant was empty for some time before those reservations filled up. They started filling in around an hour and a half after we sat down. Which seems to be ample of time for a two top. We ordered a lovely Sakura Saki. A soft, sweet, and slightly floral cold saki that is surprisingly refreshing. As for the meal, we started with the tempura vegetables, which some were unevenly cooked, all were under salted, and the dipping sauce was not enough for the amount given. For the main dish, I ordered the Park Ave roll, and my wife ordered the Philadelphia roll. This is where our night started to shine. The Park Ave roll is a night break from the traditional sushi roll. It is topped with a wagyu beef and torched once placed on the roll, searing the beef and rice, giving such a rich flavor. Along with the sautéed mushrooms, a touch of fake wasabi, and the drizzle of sweet teriyaki makes this such a pleasant flavor profile to remember. All in all, the service was great. Everyone of their staff was friendly and helpful. The prices are steep for baseline food, and the menu is becoming more Korean than Japanese. With all the negatives out the way, this place is worth visiting when you are in the area.

The food was delicious and I was able to modify my rolls without any inconvenience (other places often have a problem with this). The service was incredible, our waiter (Ben) was attentive to our table and gave us good recommendations.

This is my third time coming to Umi, and my best experience that saved the place for me. I ordered the rainbow roll and the volcano roll and oh my GOODNESS! I daydream about that volcano roll now it was so good. My friend ordered the drunken lobster, the waygu nigiri, and pan seared gyoza, all which were also yummy (not pictured here)! Although we wouldn’t order the waygu again as it just didn’t fit with everything else we ordered. All in all, would go back!
