I had been meaning to come here since I moved to the area 8 years ago and somehow never got around to it. On a constant quest for a good soup/salad/sandwich shop with good outdoor seating, I finally decided to give this cafe a go this week. Not only is this the coziest, prettiest little outdoor seating spot I've found in all of Winter Park, but the food is truly fantastic. The quality and care put into each meal is very clear, and has already called me back again since my first meal. I can see why so many patrons seem to be regulars and ,without a doubt, we will be from now on too.

I thought this was a nice cafe overall. The pricing, in my opinion, was a bit high for what it was. They have a buffet option with a few dishes but not very many. I believe the food tasted good, notably the scrambled eggs! A cup of orange juice costs $4, so be aware of the expense for that. Also, the buffet was around $19. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary- there’s a lot of other options in Winter Park for breakfast/brunch. Lastly, we came on a Saturday morning and ate for about 45 minutes, and not a single other party came in to eat (nor was anyone else there while we ate). I was really curious about that considering we were there at 10a, prime brunch time on Saturday. Other than the pricing, the staff was very friendly and food was good. Give it a try!

Was in need of a delicious salad and George’s Cafe came through in a major way! This brie and apple salad w/ a side of chicken salad was superior, the apples were crisp and very sweet, the strawberries were fresh and sweet, and the toasted walnuts also provided a hint of sweetness too!

If you want an amazing breakfast or brunch please come try George's cafe! I haven't had a single bad bite and the service makes you feel right at home. The waffles and the shrimp and grits are awesome, the ambience is great, I'm coming again.

The breakfast buffet was great. At first, it didn’t look like a ton of options but just about everything was delicious. I really liked the grits. The chicken and waffles were also very good. The bacon is some of the best I’ve ever had. The pastries were also great. I will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I came for the breakfast buffet. The food was great, especially the bacon. We came at 11 and were eadily able to get seated. You probably won’t need reservations until it gets more populat.

The breakfast buffet on Saturday and Sunday is amazing. I wish I had two stomachs to eat more shrimp and grits. Absolutely delicious! The decor will keep your eyes busy for days. Definitely making a second trip.

A great lunch spot with numerous excellent sandwich options. The French Dip is my personal favorite but there are plenty good to choose from. Don't sleep on the chili and save room for a cookie.

This place is amazing. The entire staff was extremely friendly, and the food was delicious and fresh. I had the tuna sandwich combo and a delicious peanutbutter cookie and brownie. I will definitely be returning very soon.

Great home made food. Ordered a Ceaser salad, crab cake sandwich, and black and blue burger. Come here hungry. The portions are big and worth every penny

Living in Winter Park gives one an endless variety of tempting places to eat and we finally had a compelling reason not to postpone trying George's today: Our fridge is on the fritz! ...(and we're afraid to open it before the GE service rep gets here in two days!) It's a popular place with an order line that would test some personalities (like my husband's ;) He went back outside to choose a table. Charm, music, and whimsy are in abundance though, to keep the mood up before the food arrives. We suspected portions were ample, so we had planned to share the "Havana" sandwich with a side of fries and frest fruit, along with a cup of chili and a giant chocolate/walnut cookie. Boy, did we err. It was huge. We brought home the chili, homemade *chips, and the cookie. Everything was excellent except the menu description said the Cuban sandwich was made with "slow roasted loin of pork," which meant to me, perhaps slices or pulls of meat. All I recognized was the "Cure 81 ham and Swiss cheese" also promised, warmly melded together. It was still good, and did I say Large? I asked the waiter if the chips were their version of the French fries we'd wanted. He said, "No--Those are our Homemade potato chips," like who would want anything else? It was a little startling how he then rushed off without inquiring if the missing fries could be brought out. It wasn't important enough to be difficult and besides the chips were crisply satisfying. I tried one more question: Next to the chili was dense dark bread with chunks of nuts. Is this the big cookie? I asked, and learned that it was banana bread that came with the chili. He hustled back with the hunk of a cookie--which is still sitting in our kitchen. The bread was yummy and I'm sure the cookie will be, too. So, maybe now, I "get" George's: It's a little unpredictable, but it'll be so generous, you won't care much. It offers an excellent casual change of pace on Park Ave. And I take it, that even if your pooch isn't an English Bulldog, it'll still be most welcome out front.

The food was good. Service was friendly. A hidden gem on Park Ave on the outskirts of the busier section.

George’s is my favorite restaurant on the Avenue. Everything I’ve ever had has been amazing. His chicken salad on the croissant is one of my favorites. We’ve also used George for catering and he always sends more than enough food. We always have plenty left over.
