Review Dominick's Restaurant - Winter Springs

The food, atmosphere and service is wonderful. I had my wedding reception there a few years back, it was wonderful. We had a beautiful dance floor and great music too. I would recommend you have your events there.

I've had take out from here before but decided to dine in this time. If you live anywhere close this place is a gem, even if you don't it's worth a drive. Fantastic bread and pizza dough along with great other favorites as an example the steak I had (pictured). Plenty of GF options as well which is great for my wife.

First time visiting this restaurant. Alexander our server was amazing! Excellent service! We ate inside and the restaurant is cozy. It is nice they give the option to either eat outside on the screened patio with fans or inside with the A/C. My husband and I shared a large hand tossed pizza and we had a petite salad each. The pizza was okay, and it wasn't worth $25.00 they charge. The pizza sauce was bland tasting. Usually Italian restaurants make spicy, flavorful pizza sauce. This wasn't the case here. Flippers makes better fresh tasting pizza for less money, and Flippers in Oviedo is a sit down restaurant. Also we didn't like the fact that they charge customers an extra fee for using a credit card. They call it a "Non Cash Adjustment" fee. I honestly haven't seen this practice before until now. It should be illegal. Most customers pay with a credit card. It is interesting how restaurants find sneaky ways to nickle and dime customers. They should disclose to customers up front before you order anything that if you are paying with a credit card they are charging an extra fee on top of your bill to use it instead of paying with cash. Basically it appears they are making the customers pay their merchant "interchange rate" who use their credit card as payment. It would be better to increase the prices across the board instead of tacking on fees for using a credit card, because the food is over priced anyways. What is an extra 5% increase? Based on the food and the prices my husband and I decided that we won't be coming back here. The food is over priced. The cheapest entrée is $19.00. The petite salads are $9.00, and the portion size is small for $9.00. The only great thing we experienced was the service. We are not interested in being over charged for food that is not worth the high prices especially from the way the economy is heading which is in the wrong direction.

To start positively, the food and atmosphere is pretty great. I’ve only been able to be seated 1/5 attempts to eat here. Each time I was refused due to a different circumstance. 1. Fully booked on a reservation which I totally understand. 2. As a party of 2 we weren’t a priority. 3. The girl at the podium was only covering the hostess so she wasn’t sure what to do and we were tired of waiting 4. We actually seated for the first time ever and enjoyed our meal 5. Now they charge a $5 cover per person, cash only to be seated. I wasn’t aware this was a night club?? Based on the owners responses to other negative reviews, and my experiences above, customer service is not a high priority. I even asked about making a future reservation, and was told this is not something that could be accommodated in person and to call back on Monday. Mind you, they’re not open Monday according to the sign on their door and their website……so let’s see how that goes. At this point I might not try. It’s a shame that they make it so difficult to eat here, because it’s a nice place to enjoy dinner. Especially since the owner has made it very clear they are still struggling through the pandemic. Doesn’t appear they like business.

The food portions were huge! Would highly recommend the eggplant rollatini. We came for dinner and there was entertainment - a husband and wife duo. They were joined by other musicians throughout the night. They were wonderful! Will be coming back just to listen to them (and enjoy the food)

Holy cow! This is hands down the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to in my whole life! Like insane, fat girl happy good AF! AND Alex the waiter was the greatest, very knowledgeable of the menu, and the area! (We literally just moved here yesterday and quizzed him on things to do in the area). And... the bartender made the best old fashioned (husband's choice), which I don't even normally like. She could work on her wine knowledge, but other then that, wonderful! 1000% will be back and will eat way too much and not regret any second of it!

Mediocre food and service. We ordered a mule, calamari, and vegetarian pizza. The pizza honestly tasted better as cold leftovers the next day than when it was fresh. The server seemed disinterested in us and would disappear for long periods of time. Having worked in a restaurant myself, I know serving isn't the greatest time, but I also know how you're supposed to treat your guests. The place gets points for being cute and within a short walk from our house, but we'll see how much time passes before we give it another go.

I could not give an accurate number of stars because we did not eat there. The restaurant supposedly opens at 3 but that’s for the bar only. When we got there we were told food isn’t served until 4. So we left. In response to the owner's input below... there is no way to leave a review without a star rating. We went to eat at your establishment based on the opening time. We only drink water, no alcohol or soft drinks, and we were not interested in waiting for an hour. We did talk about coming back another night, but based on your response - no thanks. You could have said that you would change your hours to reflect that the restaurant does not open until 4.

Party of three, on Friday night 7:30, seated promptly without a reservation, we ordered appetizers, entrees, and dessert (tiramisu). The appetizer was good, delivered in short order. Entrees were veal marsala, lasagna and pasta Alfredo. All disappeared. The dessert was outstandingly delicious. We’re definitely going to go again.<br/>

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant again last night. It is the third or fourth time we have been and I can assure you this, THE FOOD IS FANTISTIC. I have read some other reviews and anyone who says that there is better in the Winter Springs area, obviously doesn't know what Italian Food is suppose to taste like. My mother is from Sicily and my dad from Scotland, so we always are Southern Italian food. I can honestly say that this restaurant is truly authentic. I had the special last night that was a rigatoni with spinach in a white wine sauce with tomatoes and blackened chicken and it was so delicious and tasty, I wish I ordered two dinners. My wife decided to try the Margarita pizza. The crust was just simply the best we have tasted in Florida. The fresh tomatoes and the cheese along with the fresh basil are simple toppings, but complimented each other well. Dominick came out to check on us as he always does, and we certainly love to listen to his stories of the old days. I certainly had a bottle of wine as we sat on the patio and listened to the music and it was Wine Down Wednesday, and the house wine is only $12.00 a bottle. We will be back again, to experience more fine food, along with Dominick and his pleasant waiter, Eric.

We have recently moved to Winter Springs from Windermere and friends of ours told us to try this neighborhood restaurant. I have to say that it is the best Italian food that we have had in years! I had the Chicken Cacciatore and my wife had the Pork Ribeye. Both were equally delicious, tasty and well presented. The Wine selections are rarely found in restaurants. We drink Rombauer Chard, and it is very rarely on a small restaurant menu, but Dominicks has it. <br/><br/>We were totally impressed with the food and the wine selection and especially our server Catalina, who was extremely welcoming and accommodating to our requests. We will certainty make this GEM our regular weekly restaurant.

Barbara Ulanoski. Love that it is walking distance from my home. So relaxing sitting outside enjoying a great pizza, beautiful weather and music. Service is fantastic.

Sauce less chewing gum crust. We order the Marguarte pizza with Italian sausage. It was cold and the only flavor was the sausage spices. Going back to Madhatter. Not found of pizza without sauce either.

The food was delicious and our server was very professional and friendly considering she was also tending to a wedding party. <br/>However, Dominique was rude, grumpy and treated his staff terribly. Which makes the decision whether we return or not very difficult. I have no patience for rude people.

Tried this for the first time tonight since it was Tuscany's. We were looking for a quiet date evening together as a couple and asked for a table for two on the completely empty outdoor patio (which we were excited about since it was new since Tuscany's)....we were told we could not sit there because that was reserved for larger parties...we were sat a tiny patio set right next to the front door and the hostess stand (which is where the only couple two-person tables are)...we spent out dinner with the front door slamming by our head while the wait staff gathered by the hostess stand next to us and complained about their schedule....the entire time, there was no more than one or two parties on the entire revamped patio...glad to see the paying customers are not as important as "who may show up" ...several other couples showed up and complaint we and were told no and were seated next to us practically in the hostess station. The service was friendly and timely but the pizza was salty......was soooooo hoping for more. May give it one more try in the future.

Bad seafood, owner rude and arrogant. We asked to speak with the manager about the very low quality food and this guy calling himself the owner came out. He was very loud, dismissive and obnoxious telling us we didn't know anything about seafood and refused to substitute another dish or take the objectionable dish off the tab. For the record, we had taken one bite out of the seafood dish and it tasted like the seafood was bad. We said we would pay for the rest of the meal but refused to consume or pay for bad seafood. He said he would call the police and we invited him to do so as we waited outside. After half an hour with no police showing up, we presented ourselves at the local police station where we were told no one had called, that they were very familiar with the owner and were not surprised.

Wish it were better. As someone who very much enjoys Italian food, I was eager to try out Dominicks, especially after it's revamp from the previous Tuscany's. My family and I always enjoyed visiting the restaurant and we were looking forward to the new venue. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, recently visits have not been up to par when going to the restaurant. The food is still good, but the service has not been up to standard. On one visit, we entered the establishment and were seated inside along the far corner. Only one other family was present. We sat down and looked over the menu, but when it came time to order, no one came over to take our order. We tried to get their attention, but at least 4 servers continued to avoid eye contact with us. We never got their attention. After about 20 minutes, we left. <br/><br/>Recently, we visited again hoping to give them another chance. This time, we did get service. However, the food was substantially longer in coming out than would normally be expected-over an hour. Our waiter didn't come out to assure us our food was coming until we called him over, and then gave us an estimate of 5 minutes. It was fifteen minutes after that that our order came. <br/><br/>Our family isn't one to swear off a restaurant over one bad experience if that restaurant has potential. However, we will probably not return to Dominick's, especially given the wide array of other good Italian restaurants in the area.

GREAT PLACE!!. I ate there the other day with my three kids and it was amazing food and amazing serves!! They are kid friendly and the food was AMAZING!! This is my new favorite place to go! Loved the food and the staff. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!!!!!!
