Delighted to try Nepali food for the first time (in Winthrop of all places!). Staff was friendly and I definitely look forward to trying more of the menu (like the momos and the noodles)
Food: we ordered paneer tikka masala (with soup, not pictured*), chicken chwela (with vegetables, not pictured*), and roti.
Roti was the perfect of mix of crispy flaky outside and soft chewy interior. 10/10 would recommend all of it.
Since we ordered take-out, the plates in the pictures are our own, not the restaurant's. *The vegetables and the lentil soup were delicious (we had eaten them before I thought to take pictures to share a review).
Location: The outside is unassuming and hidden inside a little strip, but the ambiance inside was welcoming. Parking was easy to find across the street. There is also a small playground nearby (across the street as well).
~7-10 min walk to the beach, if you enjoy taking a stroll after lunch/dinner or while you wait for take-out.
Misc remarks: The aroma of the food cooking is fantastic. My partner was thrilled the food was not spicy (because with items like samosa, paneer, tikka masala, aloo, it is very reminiscent of Indian cuisine, but he can't handle spicy heat).
Portion size is plentiful for lunch (which is decent when you consider the price point), but not quite big enough to make it two meals.
Food was made to order, so be prepared to wait a little (15-20 min). Like I said, on a beautiful day, it's worth taking a stroll to the beach while you wait.
If you haven't tried Nepali cuisine, do yourself a favor and stop by for lunch or dinner.

Can't say enough about the food and staff at this place. Seriously! Our experience was AMAZING! The chef personally recommended multiple signature dishes and we tried them all. It was well worth it. If you end up going I highly recommend getting some of the roti. Also, the atmosphere of the place is quite tasteful. 10/10 recommend!

An honest place to eat and my idea of a perfect restaurant. Quaint with great music and fresh ingredients that they prepare within your view. Everything here is well worth your time and money. Winthrop is very lucky to have Bridges. Wherever life takes the owner, anybody around him will be very lucky to have his food!

(Updated with reply to owner - see end of review)
Was looking forward to dining here but aside from having menus brought over (with no greeting, water, utensils), we were left sitting in the restaurant for about 15 minutes with ZERO attention from the staff. We were the only ones there as well. There were 3 people working and they seemed to be busy prepping call in orders.
Being busy overloaded with managing orders is totally understandable but to be completely ignored for that amount of time (in full view of all three staff members) is beyond rude and non-welcoming. We actually went to the counter well after we were ready to order and asked if we needed to order there and they said someone would be over. That didn't happen. :(
We simply walked out (again with zero acknowledgement) and had a great dinner and service at another local establishment (posting the positive review for that place in a moment).
I usually only write positive reviews but I felt this honest, objective account will be taken in the spirit to make Bridges aware of situations like this so that they can fix them.
1/9/22 - To Owner: Thanks for your reply and yes, I pretty much chocked it up to a bad day for the staff (lot's of call-ins and snow storm earlier in the day I'm sure made it busier than normal).
To be clear, no one on the staff was behaving disrespectfully but being ignored is a big miss in the restaurant/bar business (busy or not) and all it would have taken was a few quick staff acknowledgments to our table like dropping off water and taking the order which would would have taken no more than 2 minutes.
Again, we totally understand when a staff gets into the weeds (I was a bartender so I get it) but there is always time to provide a quick hello and set expectations with customers to expect a delay when busy. That's a small adjustment and the only reason I wrote the review...to point that out as an easy fix for your staff.
I assume our experience was an anomaly and will probably order takeout at some point as the food smelled good! :)

My family, friends, and I really enjoy this Nepali restaurant. The owner is so attentive and a friend from the many visits here. The food is made to order and is delicious. I highly recommend this place.

One of the most authentic nepali chow mein and thupka!! Family owned, the owner cooked for us (lucky us), and it was darn delicious!

Wow! Fantastic food and great people! We ordered rice bowls and the man at the counter helped us tailer our choices to our spice preferences. The food is really fresh and very reasonably priced for the quality. We also ordered samosas which were huge! The menu is vegetarian and vegan friendly. Don't miss this place, there's none other like it!
