We finally made it to this popular seafood restaurant on Rt. 1 in Wiscasset. It has been on our list for years, but we never timed it correctly. So glad we stopped at this roadside gem. Friendly service at the counter. Takeout or order for dine-in and they'll call your number when your order is ready. There's a service station with tartar sauce, ketchup and napkins and plastic utensils to get your own supplies. Lots of booths and a few larger tables in the two dining rooms. A large outdoor seating area as well. The fried clams ($26.99 MARKET PRICE) and the Haddock Reuben special ($13.99) were stupendous! The clams were lightly battered and flavorful, not chewy. The large sandwich was on the softest marble rye bread with a fried haddock fillet, cole slaw, Swiss cheese and Thousand Islands dressing. This place has been recommended to us for years and we're happy we finally made it there. Worth a stop. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love the Sea Basket! No, you don't get views. But the food is great and they had a great outdoor picnic area so we could sit there with our dog. The crab roll was amazing! Mariners know, this is the place for seafood in the midcoast!

Delicious!! Huge portion on the Jumbo Basket. Delicious Haddock chowder. Too bad the road is so noisy and busy right next to the tables

It was my first time in Maine, and I wanted to have a lobster roll , I also got crab roll, and I shared it with my wife, both very delicious, recommended, and don't leave Maine without trying lobster roll,

This place was great. They were under staffed so the dining room was closed, but seating outside was plenty good for us. We wanted to eat at Red's Eats however, as per usual there was a line and we were hungry. So we hopped on down a little further (south on Route 1) and found the Sea Basket. And we were not disappointed at all. I had a bowl of haddock chowder and a crab roll. Boy that crab roll was huge and very tasty. The chowder was spot-on great. You won't go wrong stopping for a bite here, highly recommend.

Fried seafood is not something I get to experience often, being gluten free. So I really appreciated that everything fried could be made gluten free. The mixed sea basket was great! All the seafood was cooked wonderfully. However, it included crinkle cut fries, which I’m not a huge fan of. The onion rings were also really good but pretty greasy and messy. The staff was very friendly! Definitely recommend trying!

Really nice! Only rated it 4 stars because of the price. I went a lot as a kid and just went back recently and it was just as good as I remember. Would definitely recommend the chicken fingers and the fried shrimp. Fries are crinkle cut so if that's not your thing go for the onion rings.

Wow I don’t think I’ve ever gotten such a crazy amount of fried fish for such a reasonable price. This is definitely a deal. We ordered a jumbo haddock plate and could easy split it between 2 adults and 2 kids (age 6&4). Great food!

Sea Basket does what it does well! That is you order food at the counter, then they get the food prepared quickly, with generous portions of delicious food at a reasonable price. If you get your food when called, it is hot which makes for really good seafood eating. Unlike some restaurants, their food isn't heavily coated in the frying oil so it tastes like seafood and is fresh from local waters. Highly recommend!

I'm a fairly newly diagnosed Celiac. Not being able to eat any gluten is a huge bummer. When I found out Sea Basket has Gluten Free breading and a dedicated GF dryer I was SUPER excited! Their GF crumb includes rice, garbanzo and corn- double check when you go! The onion rings are SOOOOO good as were the scallops. Actually everything was great but they were my favorite!

This is my absolute favorite seafood place! Whenever I visit the state I must stop here for fried scallops and haddock chowder. I seriously dream about this place year-round. If you're not big on seafood, the chicken tenders are also great. And don't forget to grab a whoopie pie on your way out!

We arrived at closing time (unknowingly) and turned to leave, but we were warmly welcomed and they stayed open a few minutes extra to make dinner for my toddler and I. Everyone was so kind. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. Dinner was delicious! The haddock chowder was excellent! We love this staple in our community. 5 stars.

Now our favorite place for seafood. We've tried the Haddock & Crab cakes and both have been perfection. Not greasy & cooked just right. Wonderful staff, and shaded outdoor seating for those with pets

Sweet convenient little spot just off Hwy 1. Sat outside. A good bit of road noise but good food and we went happily on our way. Good stopping point for road trips on Hwy 1.

This place has the BEST fried seafood in New England! We have come here virtually every trip to the area for decades now and it never disappoints. They also offer gluten free breading for the fried seafood.

We wanted a lobster roll and we got some! Tastey and delicious. A bit pricey but worth the buy for real Maine lobster. Stop by if you are vacationing!
