Review San Antonio Mexican Restaurant - Wisconsin Dells

My family and I were hungry and about to leave the dells so we stopped here because it’s where we stopped the last time we came to the dells. Unfortunately, it was not the same experience. First off, the server came to our table and just stood there, didn’t even say good afternoon or anything. We got our drinks and it was a long wait before he came back to take our order even though there was just one other table. So it was pretty slow. The taco meat lacked flavor, it just tasted like it was boiled with salt. The tortillas for the tacos didn’t seem like they were warmed up on a comal or grill it looked like they were just thrown in a microwave. Sauces for the tacos were okay but not delicious. Prices here are also unreasonable, you think you’ve eaten expensive tacos? Come here and see for yourself, expensive/overpriced and not even good.

Went to this restaurant with my friends and we were not served. Our order was taken and did not get attended to until after an hour and half. Waiter brought the drinks and told us to give him 10 minutes for food to be ready, he went missing. I approached the manager he cared less to follow up what was going on. He actually lied to me he’s not the manager until one of the employees told me he’s the manager, that’s when we had to walk out of the restaurant . We had to pay them $50 for drinks and walked out. The sever said it was his 3rd day which is understandable but waiting for 1hour 45 minutes without being served is unacceptable. Talked to the guy working in the kitchen and he said he didn’t get our order. I have every reason to rate this place one star. We saw 5 different groups of people that came after us and got severed with 15-20 minutes. If you’re a person of color DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of service in this place

New Mexican restaurant. Went on 4th of July weekend and the place was packed. There was a 40 min wait but once we got in we sat at the bar and they took our order. The food was okay and a little pricey, I would give this a 5 star bc the Colombian bartender made the whole experience memorable. He was genuine and charismatic and kept entertainment the whole bar. Kudos to the owners as they closed at 10pm but kept their doors open alllot later!!

Drinks are strong, little pricy ($12-20) for a regular sized drink but worth it! We got the mojito and the sampler margaritas We didn’t get food but the food looked delicious

Food wasn't bad, wasn't the greatest either but the prices were insane. I understand it's a tourist spot but there's a reason McDonald's and taco bell are staying alive and it's not because of 15$ cheese burger..... Lower the price and this place will be at the top of the food chain with business booming. Overall good experience wish the staff was friendlier and spoke better English. Thank you guys for the food and experience

Nicolas is the best bartender. Made me a Colombian treat. Kitchen took a little while to prepare our food and carne asada was cold when it was finally served.

Not recommended to anyone. Zero stars… terrible appetizers & terrible food. It was cold & a ridiculously small portion… a chimichanga is smaller than an egg roll & everything is over priced.

I would have to say not great. I mean the margaritas are just a mix. The food was borderline nasty. The salsa was the only thing that was good. Like really good. Wisconsin dells is just a tourist trap that does exactly that. Serve the numbers. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Sorry.

Very sub par food, bought the cheese dip and guacamole and they only brought out a small platter of chips for the one, but charged full price for both. Asked for more chips and they brought a very small container with about 8 or 9 very stale chips. The cheese dip was very watery, with very little taste. The main dishes, I have had better chimichangas out of a vending machine. Two people had fajitas and they said they were dry and had no flavor. The beans looked like they came out of and tasted like a cheap canned version. The rice was way over cooked and watery. The portions size, actually thankfully, were extremely small. There was more stale lettuce on my plate than actual chimichanga. The service was sub par as well, for an empty restaurant before dinner time rush, it was as if the place was packed. 3 of us ended up with stomach pains within the hour, not me though, thankfully.

I been in this restaurant before and you can find a friendly good service, but the best for me and my wife is the Mole enchiladas this is the best Mole we eaten since we move to USA and that's 18 years a go, I had the chance to talk with the owner with out knowing she was the owner to give our congratulations to the cocker and she explained to us that their mole is coming from México and they finish the sazon..!

We visited because we heard there was mojarra frita on the menu. We took the time to drive a half hour one way to get there. It was busy when we came, so we expected a longer wait, which was no problem. All of our time driving and waiting was wasted. Although the server tried his best to make up for the quality issues, there were just too many. We ordered a margarita on the rocks, but it never came. When we reminded the server that he had forgotten to bring it, & tried it, it tasted more like lemonade. (Lemonade without any spirit!). I asked to just have water instead and gave it back to our server. I know he felt bad, because he brought me a sample of a frozen one...which was a little better. I ordered the mojarra frita and paid extra for the mojarra with seafood mix on top. When we got tge plate, we thought: What seafood?! I would describe the "seafood mix" as crumbs of seafood. The sauce on it tasted horrible and the tilapia itself was rubbery and unseasoned. My husband ordered a sope, it was deep fried and greasy. He had to send it back, because he just couldn't enjoy it. We ordered an adult sized shrimp fajitas for my son. It had only seven small shrimp on it. My daughter had the best meal, chicken tenders and fries. Lol. To add insult to our sad experience, when we nicely talked to the manager about why we were charged for tge sope, she had no apologies, or thank you for bringing this to my attention to offer us. Instead, she said they didn't cook the sopes right because it was too busy. She said she charged him for it because he ate a bite. Of course he tried it! How would he know if it were good or bad without tasting it? The worst part of all was when she said to the server, Ooh, is this the guy that sent the margarita back? And made a snarky face. We were shocked that we could be treated so disrespectfully. We don't go out to eat to spend time complaining, and we hardly ever find things so unpleasant that we'd send anthing back. If it weren't for the rude treatment at the end, I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review, I just would have known the place wasn't for us, and we wouldn't come back. So disappointed about our experience, because the menu really looked promising! We really thought we'd be finding a new favorite place to go.

Came as a party of 4 and where given a half full basket of stale chips with salsa that definately wasn't great. One of the plates had dry meat, my husband was not entirely a fan of his meal & I took one bite of my enchiladas before sending it back to the kitchen and requesting they remove it from the bill. The sauce they used had terrible flavor. The waitress also didn't come check on us much and they have not brought us a bill yet. Overall, a terrible experience. I highly recommend driving the 15 minutes to Jose's in Baraboo and getting much better service & quality food.

If your looking for a fancy Mexican restaurant you are in the wrong place ... but if you want Delicious and authentic Mexican food , than come on in !!! By far the best molé !!! ... Lots and lots of food for low cost !!! I come to the dells once a year .. and San Antonio restaurant is the #1 reason !!!

Love love love this restaurant. It's the best around and the only place we will go for Mexican food. The staff are always so friendly and nice.

Horrible service food and drinks took forever way to short on staff some people were seating there for 2 hours or longer with no food yet it was just crazy manager did nothing

This restaurant has the best food in town and I will recommend all my friend to eat the seafood soup is the best

I had a chicken burrito with mole sauce which was delicious! The place is very festive with very nice waiters and waitresses. I will be back again with more friends.

This is a great place for tacos , the employees are very professional and nice, especially Valentina, she was very professional. They are very welcoming and feels just like home --will definitely come back!

I try not to give negative reviews but this worst restaurant that I've been to in my life! We were given chips that were stale and the salsa was not good! It had a weird taste! We placed our order and it took over 45 minutes to get our food. Once we got it, we were even more disappointed! The food was cold and it tasted horrible! We told the waitress about the food being cold and the only thing she offered was to have it re-heated like really! I ordered two sopes (one chicken and one chorizo). The chorizo is the worst thing that I have ever tasted. I actually spit it back out! We pretty much left the food on the plates and still paid $65! I left hungry and angry. I don't know how they call themselves authentic Mexican food when there's nothing good about that place. I will never go back to that disgusting place!

Best authentic mexican food ,tasty margaritas,clean washrooms and very freindly staff,(thanks Vero for you excelente service)
