Decided to check then out for a couple's dinner. The service was excellent. The food was tasty and served quickly. We tried sea bass and steak for main course along with lamb sausage, salad, and oysters. Well seasoned and delicious. My wife tried their cosmopolitan, and it was the best she had in a while. One small negative is that there are a lot of tables there, so it might feel a little claustrophobic when it is a full house. Will definitely come back.

Bistro L'Hermitage is our go to restaurant for special occasions. The service is superb without pretense, which can be difficult to find with such a high level of cuisine. I highly recommend the chef's selection (5 or 7 courses). The chef's selection is NOT available on Friday or Saturday, but it's well worth going on other nights. The menu is still outstanding and we've enjoyed every experience. The escargot is easily as good if not better than any other restaurant. The wine selection is heavenly and I also recommend allowing the sommelier to pair for you.

Went here to celebrate a birthday with family. Heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try.
The location is pretty random, it's in a neighborhood, looks like it was a house converted in to a restaurant. The vibe was very French, lot's of decor throughout the restaurant. Tried a variety of different dishes, I'd say I had high expectations for this place so I'm being fairly critical but the food was a 7.5/10. The shrimp could have been more flavorful and the duck could have been slightly more tender. The creme brulee was a bit watery and the caramelized sugar was soggy which indicates it wasn't fresh. Other than that, service was impeccable and the food came out very quickly. Cool little restaurant in the area, definitely worth visiting.

The soup of the day, the scallion soup, was one of the best soups I’ve had in my life. Bread and butter were great - especially nice and chewy on the inside. I had the lamb which was massive, but the entree was noticeably more salty than what I’ve had before. Would eat here again.

We have been going to Bistro L’Hermitage for years now and every single time we have had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel right at home. The details of the interior and exterior design all the way to the plate they serve you are so well thought out and beautiful. We’ve tried many things on their menu and have never been disappointed. I would recommend everything on the menu!! Definitely make a reservation because this is a hot spot!

The food was Ah-mazing. The service was incredible. The atmosphere was on point. It's a quaint restaurant but it's full of character. The maitre'd was incredible. We were dining for a special occasion with a party of 4. Every recommendation was perfect based on our preferences. The cocktails, wine, appetizers, entrées, desserts, and cappuccino were divine. Just perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back!

This is by far my favorite restaurant. I don't get to go too often but when I do, the food taste gets better and better. Our server was AWESOME as well as everyone there. The food and drink quality was definitely noticeable. I am big on customer service and they nailed it higher than my expectations.

My boyfriend and I attended there for my birthday celebration dinner our FIRST time to be there. I love French foods & wine. I'm former ex- Rosslyn Downtown, Arlington, for 30 years. A hostess, waiters, and service are friendly, help, and enjoyable conversation. The ladies' restroom is clean and really cool in the style inside and high ceiling. Foods and beverages are fantastic and delicious, really! I can see the full of people here, lovely! I'm glad that we got soft seats on the corner and viewed the people. I love it! We will be back there again! We did order for Saratoga sparking blue bottled water, Bisque d'Homard (very delicious), Escargots (love dying), Coquille St. Jacques (very delicious), Chef's special dinner menu, Crème Brulée a la Vanilla de Tahiti (yummy), Mousse au Chocolat aux Perles Croquantes (very amazing), and Frangelico glass of drink (lovely).

What a hidden gem, excellent food along with equally excellent service by the staff. The rustic french ambience inside was amazing too. Definitely recommended if you like quality french cuisine.

This is my favorite restaurant and I go here every year for my birthday. I would give it 10 stars if I could! This French restaurant has the coziest atmosphere. You always get the best service of any restaurant around and the food is amazing.

Truly a lovely place. Great service, wonderful wine list and menu. Tables can be close to each other making it a little louder than expected, but definitely a destination to experience.

I’ve heard a lot of this restaurant, we’ve lived locally for ten years but finally made reservations to celebrate a recent anniversary. My husband and I both grew up in Germany and have travelled to France together, so our expectations were high.
The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful, and for those two alone we will definitely go back. The decor was kitschy, a little cluttered, and nothing like I expected based on what others have told me. We are in our 30s and were easily the youngest people in the restaurant. Nothing like listening to the table behind you belittle your whole generation! Thankfully they left after our first course so we didn’t have to endure hearing what’s wrong with parents today for too long. I know that doesn’t say much about the restaurant, but it definitely has an older clientele.
We started with a green salad for me and my husband got the tomato bell pepper soup. Both delicious. The bread was WARM which is always a treat! My husband got the trout which he said was perfect, I opted for filet mignon and enjoyed every. single. bite.
For dessert I asked the waitresses suggestions and ended up getting the trio of desserts, it was the perfect mixture of flavors to satisfy any sweet tooth. In addition, she brought us the sorbet trio to celebrate our anniversary - mango, raspberry, and coconut sorbets made in house and perfect. Tempted to go back just for those! The coconut was a dream!
Overall a really delicious dining experience, though I realize we aren’t their target demographic.

L'Hermitage was the perfect place to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. Impeccable service by Christian with 5-star+ dinner and dessert in a very charming quintessential French bistro. I had the duck with risotto and my hubby had the filet mignon. Duck and filet were perfect, and best risotto I ever had.

It's definitely a good brunch spot if you haven't been. The food was good. the only issue was that some of the salmon was a little bit more fishy here than one of my friends would like. However, they did enjoy their food. That's the reason for the 4 star at 5 star.

Amazing dishes. Service was great. Nice restaurant if you're feeling fancy. Foie Gras was amazing and so was the lamb. Scallops were perfectly cooked and the creme brule was perfect.

The service is excellent. The menu has variety. I had the Porc Roti. It was good. I've had better pork chops, but I will be back to try something else. I also tried some of the special. It was lobster and monk fish. Loved the monk fish and also the stuffed gnocchi I had with my pork. The appetizer of mussels we had was fantastic. The bread pudding was good. It had raisins in it so...Yay!

December 2023- Bistro L’ Hermitage in Occoquane, Va. is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming set in a french style bistro. Reservations are a must. There is a charming bar that will elevate your spirit with not only the excellent cocktails but the visual appeal of your surroundings as this cozy bistro.
During this visit we had Chilean Sea Bass, beet salad, and lobster bisque, all with bursting flavors. The wine and cocktail list is extensive and will satisfy the most discriminating pallet. The service is quick and on point.
Each staff member is clearly trained with a professional approach to serving customers. Ready to make your dining experience memorable from the first greeting at the table.
I can’t say enough to clearly explain the exceptional experience, it’s a must!

Celebrated an anniversary here and it honestly couldn't have been better. The food was incredible, the service spectacular and the ambiance beautiful. Loved everything about it and can't wait to have the special experience of dining here again.

An absolutely amazing place! I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoints. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and attentive. If you’re ever in doubt just ask for a recommendation! The food is absolutely exquisite in every way possible. No matter what you get, it melts in your mouth. I highly recommend the escargot, tuna tartare, and foie gras for the appetizers. In my personal opinion, their duck is the best course on the menu. The wine pairings recommended by the servers are absolutely stunning. If you’re looking for a traditional French restaurant with world class quality food, this is the place to dine!

Excellent food, the wait staff is superb. No rushing you through a meal. Spacious enough for anyone. Make sure you have room left over for desert. Bon Appetit!
