Family owned. I've eaten here LOTS. The food is incredible. We are never disappointed. They treat my elderly parents like gold. Always busy, so be prepared for a line.
Went on with a group of ten paintball ers looking for food after a long hot day.
Absolutely suprized by the quality of the meal.
The lovely ladies of the staff were very accommodating and helpfull with large smiles even though it was obviously a busy day for them.
When we are in town we shall make this a goto spot.
Parking is a bit tough, but the block or two walk is worth the meal.
Excellent taqueria to get your grub on. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food is. Can't wait to come back.
This is the best Mexican restaurant we've ever been to. The food tastes very authentic and even my picky kids loved it. We will definitely make this a must stop whenever we are in town.
From out of town 3 hours away couldnt decide on food so went with the name that sounded more authentic lol, Luis taqueria. Coconut water was so delicious and the tacos Dorados as well. I got adobada witch it was really good. 1st time being here hopefully can go there again sometime. Highly recommended tacos Dorados.
Awesome food! Come here with my little family! I have two picky eaters and they eventually always have to be good for them to eat here! Very goood place!
I've been eating here at Luis's for the last Ten years and the place has yet to disappoint...
Luis's is the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. Nestled in the heart of downtown Woodburn. Stop by, you won't be disappointed!
Had the two tacos (cabeza) special with rice and beans. I thought they would be small street tacos so I was considering something in addition. I was told that the tacos were big and would fill me and boy was she right! Drizzled with delish verde salsa, it was a lunch to die for. The sliced radishes were large and crisp, very fresh! Thank you for great food and great service!
The carnitas burrito shattered my entire universe... it's offensive that a burrito that delicious could even exist. I've been questioning reality after my experience at Luis's Taqueria. 10/10 would eat again.
The food was great and in generous portions. I highly recommend it.
Never disappointed when we come here. The best tacos!
Love this place. The ingredient are fresh, the homemade tacos are heaven, and the prices are great. Yum.
Everytime my brother comes into town we all go here for dinner. Between 6 adults (1 vegan) and 4 picky kids we always find something delicious. Thank you to the staff for accommodating us in a private area yesterday and the great customer service. Will be back for sure!!
Delicious, authentic Mexican food. Great service, great ambiance, but more than anything exquisite food!
Awesome tacos, sopes, burritos. All tasted fresh and authentic, love this place.
I thought the food was excellent. Can’t wait to go back with my family
Completely delicious!! I dream about their homemade tortillas, beans and chile rellenos.
Great food and very nice people. I definitely will be back to try out all the items on that big menu
Amazing is all I can say! A must try if passing by or in Woodburn.
A taste of Mexico...the food ad atmosphere is authentic with a helping of "awesome sauce"!
You just have to have the Churro's after your wonderful meal!!!... This is a definite stop the next time we are down that way!!...
Delicious food that always keeps me coming back..💯
Luis's has ways been our spot!! Love the food so much!!
loved it! Best tacos I've tried. Will be going back next year when we visit again.
Awesome food for cheap prices! Ceviche is just $4.75 and if you go anywhere else it's like $6.00-$14.00 depending on where you go and what restaurant. Tacos are $7.00 for a whole big huge plate that includes other things besides tacos. The taco salad is unbelievable and ohhh soooo good. The shell is to die for!
Great Mexican food!
The enchilada meal was great tasting and good value. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean.
Will be back next time in Woodburn
Had the chavindeca. It was fresh and flavorful! It didn't have as much meat as I would have hoped but I found it filling. My horchata was good also, though with more cinnamon than I've usually had. Luis's is as good and authentic a Mexican restaurant as you would expect in Woodburn.
Yay! Real mexican food!. Too many Mexican restaurants cater to white people! I'm white, but enjoy the authentic food! I don't want a bunch of lettuce and cheddar cheese on my food. Instead some goat cheese and cabbage.
This place delivers that. I had the topas and the girlfriend had the taco ceviche, both were tasty! The ceviche had a strong lime and fish taste, but not overpowering, it was about as close to perfect as one can get. The menu is quite extensive and I was overwhelmed with the options. My only regret is it is in Woodburn and I seldom visit that town.
The only negatives I found was the service was not overly friendly. It wasn't rude, but very business like. Also they were blasting their music, which made for difficult conversation. They did keep a nice clean establishment.
Overall, their food was great and hope I can make it back soon. I've yet to discover a location in Salem which has good Mexican food. If any of you can recommend something I would appreciate it!
Chicken Chavindeca -Spicy Chicken Perfection. My theory about Luis's is that their food is so fresh because it doesn't stay around their kitchen for long. This place is popular, and it's not hard to taste why. I have been to Luis's at least 50 times, and I usually get the Chavindeca. Spicy chicken sauteed with onions in the red sauce, with cheese, sandwiched between two corn tortillas, topped with more cheese, SC, and shredded cabbage. A squeeze of lime and a little salsa verde and you have the perfect flavor combo. The fajita burrito is also muy excelente. No matter who I take with me to Luis's, they always leave saying it was the best they've had. Add to this the fact that, because they don't sell liquor and need to pay for a license, their prices are super reasonable. If you have not been, it's worth a special trip.
A Woodburn Institution. It's taken me awhile to get to Luis's in downtown Woodburn, but I finally made it today with my daughter on our way to Portland. It sure is nice how downtown Woodburn has been spiffed up by the City fathers and mothers there. Way to go Woodburn. Luis's is famous for a visit by Presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008. Good choice Barack. It's obvious when you come here that this must be the most popular taqueria in Woodburn. I think we got the last table at lunchtime today. The menu is huge -- maybe the biggest selection of any taqueria in the area (including Salem). All the taqueria standards are here. We opted for a "medium" size birria de chivo plate and a fish torta. It was nice to be able to get a smaller portion of birria for only $7.50. The fish torta was well-prepared and had a yummy chili-mayonaise sauce on the side. The food came out fast even though the place was packed. I'm not sure this is better authentic Mexican food than what you can find in Salem, but it certainly is comparable, and it's cool to be eating in a place where our President ate. Can't say that about too many places in Oregon.
Worth the drive from Portland. Every mile of it. Probably the best and most authentic Mexican food I've ever had in the state of Oregon. I tried the tamale combo, which consisted of three tamales, beans and rice all served up on a gigantic plate. The tamales were cooked just right--nice and moist with tender delicious chicken. The beans and rice were also on point with just the amount of seasonings and not overly dry. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a short little trip outside of the Portland area or if you happen to passing by on I-5. You will not be disappointed!
Best Mexican food in all of the PDX area! I have been here several times lead by reviews from enthusiastic fans raving about this little Taqueria in downtown Woodburn. My favorites here are the Shrimp Tostadas, Sopas with rice and beans. Fresh homemade tortillas are delicious! Finish with a thirst quenching rice milk. Next I want to try their Posole and Menudo. Awesomeness is served here!
Fish tacos were real good but not on menu. I would go again!
I felt like a drive........... And having read the countless laudatory reviews on another site, decided to give Luis's a try. The décor is typical order-at-the counter taqueria. My table had been cleared but not wiped. (I'm beginning to discern a pattern here.) I ordered a Beef Torta and a Pork Tostada. Both were good and generously crafted. The Tostada was a crisp corn tortilla heaped with beans, pork, diced tomatoes, shredded cabbage, cilantro and sliced radishes with a wedge of lime. It was precariously tall and therefore not suitable to pick up and eat. The only utensil provided was a plastic spoon. Side containers of red and green sauce were provided. The Torta was huge and more than a meal in it's self. It consisted of thick, chewy bread surrounding big chunks of beef, shredded cabbage, onion, cilantro, sliced tomatoes and jalapeño peppers. The food was good, but despite the raves, I think Jr's Taqueria or San Diego Taco Co here in Salem are every bit as good or maybe better. (Disclaimer: The fact that the person others saw fit to elect President of the United States ate here did not influence my decision whether or not to try this place.)
First time here. The food was very good. I had an asada taco and a carnitas taco. Both were so so good. The tortillas were homemade and fresh. Can’t wait to go back and try more items. Almost forgot, I had a churro.. they were ok.
The food was good. There salsa and chips are yummy. I like that for tripas, you can order soft up to extra crunchy. Their chile relleno burrito is delicious.
I was traveling to Oregon and found this place. I must say almost as home made. The menudo was on point. The carne asada is the best I've had aside from mom's cooking. The staff is supper friendly. Very home like atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We were very pleased with our experience at Luis's. Serious ceviche tostadas with ample seafood tons of fresh flavor.
The tacos we enjoyed(Carne Asada, Chorizo and Carnitas) were very good with fresh veg. and tasty meats.
The chorizo had a nice tang.
Beans and rice were very enjoyable.
A clean and family friendly atmosphere and superior service.
It's one of my favorite places that I go eat with my family. The tacos are so good, as well as the drinks that they serve. Even though I don't eat the tacos with a salsa, my parents say that it's pretty good. It's mean more since they come from Mexico.
Overall, just go there if you want to eat good, real tacos.
I had Luis’s cater my wedding at the end of June and they were absolutely wonderful! The customer service was amazing, they were quick to respond and get in touch with me. During my wedding they set everything up so beautifully and even made my husband and I a plate to have after the ceremony. The guests raved about the food and weeks later I’m still being told how great it was. 10/10 would highly recommend them for any event! Thanks again you all are great!
Luis's Taqueria has typical Mexican American fare alongside more traditional Mexican choices. All of the food is quite good especially when considering the price. The location is large and welcoming and the staff is accommodating.
This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in Oregon. I’ve been here more times than I can count and I’m amazed every time with the freshness and authenticity of the food. Our favorite is the burrito and the green sauce is to die for. Wish I could buy some in bulk to take home!
