I had the pulled pork plate with beans and coleslaw. Excellent smoke flavor with just the right amount BBQ sauce. Beans had chunks of meat and coleslaw was juicy. The main reason I went in was to support this business. The work they do with the homeless and the families in their community is outstanding. The food was wonderful! I will be back..
This restaurant was amazingly delicious! The chicken was so tender that I hardly had to cut it and the homemade cornbread was to die for. Once I got the cornbread, I didn't want to eat anything else. The owner's wife makes it fresh every day. My husband had the beef brisket plate (see pic) and he loved it. He said the beef was so tender, it broke apart on his fork. And it wasn't spicy at all, which was my biggest concern. Excellent place with amazing service! The owner was so friendly and such a happy guy!
Best BBQ I've ever had this side of the mississippi and gives bbq I had in Georgia a run for it's money. Combine amazing food with an awesome owner and friendly staff and you have a recipe for greatness. All of their food is made fresh so make sure to call your orders in at lunch time or they will be sold out by the time dinner rolls around.
This brisket falls apart with a fork but had a nice bark on it. The pork ribs are to die for the meat comes off easily but held on the bone. The taste of the meat came through perfectly but had subtle smoke flavor, the coleslaw has a mellow yet wonderful flavor and the potato salad is tasty. The greens are perfectly seasoned and they cook them with bones in the pot liquor, the texture was excellent. A perfect example of Southern BBQ on the west coast. Next time ill have to go earlier to try the mac n cheese and hush puppys.
There were 4 of us and all agreed a solid 5 stars!! Pulled pork and the pulled chicken sandwich’s are a lot of food and they are intended to be eaten with a fork and knife . Get a side of beans and you have more than 2 people need, and it’s all excellent. The other couple had the brisket with rice and beans and that was plenty for 2. Plus a bite for each of us. It too was really good. Definitely worth the stop
Great eats! Brisket was perfectly done and the pulled pork was great. Greens were good, and we loved the hush puppies. It was really cool to find a good BBQ place close to home. Atmosphere was laid back and easy, just like good BBQ should be. Service was good too! Casual conversation when needed and left to enjoy our food. Highly recommend. Thanks for the great grub everyone!
Best barbecue I have had since moving away from the South. The Pulled Pork sandwich was AMAZING. My new favorite place to eat. Definitely going back and I gladly tell all my friends about this place. I LOVE the food here. Highly recommend!!!
