Similar to red robin, but higher quality beef and slightly higher prices. You get a TON of fries/jojos on the side. Usually not busy. Great tasting food!
The services is spot on. Food is nice and good prices are a tad high. Bar is near impossible to find a spot during thursday night football times but other than that its a solid place to go.
Southwest Chicken Wrap. De-lish!!
Bob's Burger is great! We love how we are treated there. They have the best waiters/waitresses around! This is our favorite restaurant for date night.
Super fun and great service from our server Rachel!!
Nothing special but good quality for the price all round.. Bob's is a good place but nothing really stands out, the value is there, the quality is there but it just doesn't have the magic for me. One thing that probably is their stand out item is the the breakfast bar that only runs sunday morning. If you want solid service with good food for a decent price Bob's is your place.

Yummmoooo. Well there are alot of bad reviews on here.I was shocked to see all of those after the good time my family and I had last night celebrating my son's 18th b-day.My only complaint it was really hard to get in there almost an hour to get in.The food was great knowone complained the portions were huge.most at our table could not even finish what was on their plate. Our service was great! She was attentive but busy !The mushroom burger yummo if you like mushrooms.I have had the jalepeno burger hot but good.I guess its the timeing. We have been there twice and no complaints here.
Great lunch. I was in Bob's Burger this last week and had a great lunch. The staff was friendly and the food was great. I've been here a few times but never tried the fish and chips. It was actually better then most other restaurants in the valley and at a reasonable price. The server mentioned that the batter is made fresh each day and its one of their more popular dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by my choice and look forward to my next meal there.
GREAT ADDITION TO YAKIMA. I love the menu and my hotel guest love the fact that Bob's is just steps from the front door. i've actually had some guest book here ....because there is a Bob's! The staff, ownership, and franchise are all excellent! Thanks for picking Yakima!!!!!
Food is great and reasonably priced! The burgers have a nice flavor and they are generous with the fries. My boyfriend loved the potato salad too.
Great place to eat!. I've been to Bob's Burgers & Brews a number of times since they opened, and have always been happy.
My favorite burger is the Sourdough Bacon- great with onion rings. I've also enjoyed a crispy Chicken Wrap, and the service has always been prompt and friendly.
I would recommend Bob's Burgers & Brews to anyone- and often do.
(And the beer is especially good!)
Consistantly Great. For the record, all of Bob's menu items are MSG free. Its unfortunate that there was miscommunication regarding their menu items. Bob's Burgers and Brew has earned my repeat business due to 1.Consistantly great service staff. 2. Affordably, quality food in large portions 3. Great, welcoming atmosphere. They are a great addition to Yakima & I look forward to dining there for a long time.
Terrific Experience at Bob's Burger n Brew in Yakima!!!!!. My family and I stopped at Bob's Burgers n Brew for dinner and had a great experience! Our meals included Fish and Chips, Aloha Burger, and the Mushroom Burger. Each was absolutely delicious and the service was terrific!!! This restaurant is incredibly clean, has a very nice ambiance, and is operated in a professional and friendly fashion. We plan on stopping in every time we either visit or pass through the Yakima area!!!!
Really good burgers and selection of beer. The place is a little crowded but looks nice. The only complaint I'd have to say is every time I've been there I have had to wait and there were three chicks standing up at the front podium with there heads up there asses and not seating people and there was empty seats
Sunday Brunch. Tried the Breakfast Brunch on Sunday and what a treat! Filled out the omelete order at our table, handed it over to the omelete chef and then made our way thru the buffet. Great spread! Fresh fruit, waffles, french toast, Eggs Benedict (my favorite) and lots of sweet treats. We'll do it again. When the weather warms up I'm looking forward to sitting at their outdoor tables.
Maybe it will get better with time.. Bob's Burgers & Brew is a nice addition to the Yakima restaurant scene, even if it isn't the most spectacular dining or eating experience.
I don't think I have ever seen a more anticipated restaurant opening in Yakima. In the months leading up to the opening all the buzz was about Bob's and how great it was to get a new restaurant in Yakima and how this would be different from anyplace we already have here. So, no surprise once the doors opened the flood of customers came and to this point has never really ended. The occasions I have dined there the place has always been totally packed. I suppose that in itself speaks volumes to the demand for a sit-down burger joint/sports bar, but my issue is not with what the place represents, but how it isn't all that different from anyplace else that sells burgers and drinks.
My first experience at Bob's was not exactly typical. An organization I am a member of organized a Christmas dinner outing and we chose Bob's. We were granted the back room. Upon entering the restaurant my first thought at seeing all the people waiting for a table was, "gee, I'm glad I'm already with a reserved group," and "Wow, the food must be really great!"
Our group was served by multiple members of the wait staff. They were efficient and attentive even though the size of the group was rather large. I found the menu impressively large with many variations on burgers and other sandwiches. I actually believe it is a more diverse menu than competing restaurants, namely Red Robin.
I ordered their interpretation of a blue cheese burger. The burger was simple enough, but with a very sizeable beef patty, more blue cheese than I've seen before on a restaurant hamburger and a lot of vegetable garnishment. All in all the burger was very good, not too messy and nicely presented.
They offer many sides with each burger entrée. I chose the fries and looking back on it I wish I had the salad. Obvious health reasons would dictate getting a salad over any other fried side; however I felt obligated to try their fries. I was underwhelmed. The fries come out hot and not particularly greasy, but they are totally unseasoned. A generic seasoning salt is provided on the table along with salt, pepper and ketchup, but the seasoning salt does not stick on the fries by the time you get them to the table so trying to salt them is an act of futility. I recommend getting the salad or one of the other sides since the fries come out unseasoned and remain unseasonable on the plate. If you really want fries, be sure to ask for a side of dressing or other condiment as that is the only way to perk up their bland potatoes.
Then the bill came, nothing really surprising on my ticket, except for the 18% gratuity already added in for being part of a large group. That bothered me, but it really raised the hair on some of my associates in our party. I understand that wait staff often feel stiffed when they deal with large groups, and I know folks that have been stiffed when sharing the job of taking care of a large dining group, however the Yakima area is not accustomed to this particular policy and quite a few of the people in my dining group will never be back because of that policy. I also know this group well enough to know that the wait staff wasn't going to get stiffed. They probably wouldn't get 18%, but they wouldn't end up with nothing either.
Fast forward about a month and my wife and I decided to dine there for lunch after a day of shopping. It was a Saturday around lunch time at least a couple of months after the place had opened and there was still a waiting list with at least 10 groups ahead of us. We thought there might be space in the bar, but it was full too. We waited our turn and were seated in about 25 minutes. The waiting area is way too small for the number of people that tend to be waiting for tables and it is cold to boot as there are no outdoor heaters to congregate by and there is no double entry to limit the amount of outdoor air coming into the building.
Once we were seated our waitress came by to take our beverage order. However shortly after that a different server came to our table to also take our drink order. It turns out that there was some kind of server shuffle. We informed our new server that we had already put in a drink order and she scurried off to find our drinks.
Already familiar with the menu I had a good idea of what I was going to order. My wife took a little bit longer to decide, but we were all ready to order by the time our server got back with our drinks. Nothing particularly remarkable occurred on this dining outing. Food was delivered in a timely manner and everything seemed fresh. The service didn't seem nearly as attentive as my previous visit with the larger group, but we weren't outright ignored either. I ordered fries for a second time and firmly came to the conclusion that I should avoid them on any future visits. We were only offered one drink refill during our visit and return visits by our server to the table after food was delivered were few and far between.
What bothered me most about this dining experience was the ambiance. I hadn't noticed this with the private group I was dining with at the earlier occasion, but the building is very noisy, especially when the place is completely full, as it was that Saturday. It makes it quite difficult to have a pleasant conversation at a normal voice volume.
To be honest I don't understand the hoopla over Bob's Burgers. It is a decent place to eat, but not any better than completing sit-down burger restaurants. Some aspects of their menu are not nearly as good as the competition. Unseasoned fries are a huge turn-off and the very loud atmosphere doesn't exactly help matters any. If you limit your dining purchases to an entrée with no beverages or drinks, you can get in and out for about $10/person, but the same, and some would argue, better burgers can be found at smaller, older establishments for a few dollars less with very little wait time. Beverages and drinks are, frankly, overpriced and pop refills, although presented as unlimited, are sometimes hard to come by when staff seems stretched so thin.
I hesitate to rate Bob's up or down. There are things about Bob's that are very good. The menu is extensive and the burger variations are creative and all appear appealing. Food makes it to the table hot and fresh and without too much delay. However, drinks are overpriced, the fries are barely palatable and the wait service is inconsistent at best.
I'll certainly give the place another try, but it will be a few months in the hopes that things improve and table wait times become reasonable. Correct for the bland fries and the expensive beverage prices and Bob's could really be a contender.
Best Burgers in the whole damn Valley!!. I ate here when they opened and I have been back multiple times since. I ordered the Bob's Bonanza Burger the first time. This burger is a monster! If you can eat it all on top of the HUGE plate of jojo's I had with it as my side, you are a serious eater. I actually took a photo of my burger and was texing it to friends. They were all drooling as well. The menu is pretty much limited to Burgers (beef/chicken) and sandwiches with a few salads not much else. They have many "Theme Style" burgers similar to Red Robbin. The help is fast and friendly, my waitress last time was almost overly helpful I would say. The building is very modern and state of the art with multiple plasma TV's in the bar area showing the latest sports games. I have not tried their cocktails yet but I plan to soon. Overall I would have to say this is one of the best sit down restaurants in Yakima and possibly the whole valley when it comes to overall eating experience. Not sure how much that says but it's worth your time to see for yourself.
There are a few bad things:
- The fries from what I hear from friends and people on here are pretty bad. I have yet to try them and probably won't. They have something like 5 different sides to choose from so this is not a big deal just choose something else. (jojo's are good)
- The soda is quite expensive on top of an already premium priced meal ($10-$13). I think the soda was $2.50 more and was unlimited refills. With that tacked on you are looking at no less than $15-$18 per person after tax and tip. Kinda pricy but the food is really a treat.
- Parking is F.U.B.A.R. Very small parking lot with a dead end on one side so you have to try to turn around without hitting the 20 cars around you.
If you can get past these 3 things, which are not that huge of a deal then you will really like this place.
I really cannot see how anyone could ever have a bad review for this place unless something went terribly wrong, and to compare it to Denny's is completely idiotic. Just say the food is too expensive for you and leave it at that.
Excellent Job!. We had out company christmas party of 20 here and despite how busy they were, they made us feel as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was hot, fast and delicious. Nice job Bob's!!
No bad review here.... I honestly don't know why some people have given a bad review of this place, to each his own I suppose. The burgers are excellent. I have taken my family and friends here on 3 different occasions since it's opening and I love the food. The burgers are big and FLAVORFUL. I have personally tried the guacomole/bacon burger, the aloha burger, and the mushroom burger and they were all excellent. The other people I have taken here (6 total) have been equally impressed. I am originally from Los Angeles and the Seattle area but now local to Yakima, and being a field engineer that has traveled quite a bit and had his fair share of restaurant food, I can honestly say that the pricing is fair and the food excellent. The portions are good (even the steak salad is huge) and the service was great. The local Yakima brew is great as well (the amber ale is my favorite). As far as the previous reviewer's comment about the fries I have to somewhat agree. They do not put much seasoning, but that is because they ask you what kind of dipping suace you want with your fries. The are also great because they are non greasy and crispy (not dry), which is how I like them anyway. Hope this helps.
Went here last night on opening night. Building design is really Nice. Service was quick and friendly. Beer was good and cold. Good was awesome. Huge plate of fríes with my french dip. Will definately go back!!! Everybody should try.
