Local. Good place to eat. Food is good and the battered fries are delicious! If you haven't tried Major's, you are missing out!
Fries. If you go to Major's you want to get the beer battered fries. I am constantly in search of the perfect place for different kinds of fries, and Major's is it for beer battered fries.
Just thinking about it now, I am salivating.
Better rings. Major's obviously competes straight up against Miners. Where Major's excels is in the number of local vegetables they use in their dishes. The difference is clearest when it comes to onion rings. Miner's uses frozen, Major's uses fresh. Only Gasperetti's makes an onion ring as good as Major's. For that reason alone, Major's should rank higher on the list of Yakima's best restaurants, especially when it comes to fast food.
I Still Fondly Recall the Spuds. It's been a couple of summers since I was in Yakima and ate at Major's, but I still fondly recall the Spuds, a specialty French fry. They are heavenly!
The burger was well crafted, and had good flavor. My pictures show the Spuds and signature Major burger.
Unique and locally owned. Major's, I suppose it is a play on the name of another locally owned burger joint, serves large burgers, large sandwiches and a varied menu of foods you don't normally see at fast food restaurants.
Major's hand presses and seasons all of their hamburger patties in house. They also do as much in house prep for most of their side items. Their feature side item is Spuds McKensie, or rather beer battered french fries. Definitly not food for everyday eating, but delicious from time to time.
Major's also offers numerous hard ice cream treats, using regionally sourced hard ice creams. Major's is a nice place to visit just for late evening desert, especially if you have already had dinner someplace else, or at home.
Popped in here to grab the Tuesday special. Seemed like a fairly average eatery, nothing extraordinary, but wasn't bad. Clean and well-staffed, decent location. Wouldn't take a date here unless we were going for a themed outing, but it was fine. Ice cream too!

This place is pricey but the food is very good. I just picked up (drive thru) an order of their battered fried asparagus which they have in season every year and it's delicious. Their shakes are fresh, homemade & delicious too.
This place is always super yummy. We used to just come on Thursdays, when they have the kids meal deal for...$2.99 I think. You can choose a burger, chicken strips, corn dog, or grilled cheese. It comes with fries and a kid sized drink. Very tasty! Now we come around to try other goodies, like the loaded baked potato- which was delicious. They also have hand scooped ice-cream! Definitely worth visiting.
My wife and I ordered the fried asparagus, onion rings, cheese sandwich, and the cheeseburger. My wife even ate the fried asparagus which surprised me. She didn't like the onion rings as much as they weren't as crispy as she is used to. However, I enjoyed the onion rings and all of my orders, thus five stars for my review. Everything was delicious and I was impressed on the amount of food we got for the price. Next time I am in Yakima, I am going back to this place.
We always order the Halibut basket and it ALWAYS tastes so good. It’s honestly better than places on the west side right off the water. Try the fry sauce with your fries and the tartar sauce is on the sweeter side. But goes perfectly with a fish like halibut.

This place was fantastic! Found it while on a weekend adventure through the Yakima area. Tons of food choices! Burgers, hotdogs, soup and salad, fish and chips, and a full breakfast menu. We had dinner there. My daughter had the Majors bacon cheese burger which was huge and delicious! Really great burger! I had the Captain’s Platter - freakin amazing. Came with shrimp, scallops, clams and cod. Damn good! Both meals came with a huge pile of the best fries I’ve ever had! The prices were completely reasonable considering the amount of food. I’d add a picture but the food was so good I forgot to take one.
The only complaint I have is that we don’t have one in Western Washington!! So unfair.
My family loves Majors. The bacon cheeseburger is delicious. Perfectly cooked bacon. Recently my son has become a chicken cordon bleu fan. He has tried the grilled and the fried. He cannot pick a favorite as they both have their own best attributes. The quality of Majors food never disappoints. Definently a cut above fast food.
