My first time at Cheddars and it was a good time. I got the Ribs with Coconut Shrimp, southern green beans and red beans and rice. My wife got the Monte Cristo. The food was great and the portions are large. Service was also great. We drove up from Maryland to come to this location. It was well worth the drive and we will be back.

The place was inviting and cozy. I was immediately greeted and the door opened to welcome me in. The menu/food was what I expected from the description. It reminded me of some home cooked food from my Maryland life. It was not Pennsylvania dutch. I tried some signature dishes, that I found enjoyable. The wait times for service were not bad; arrived around 5 p.m. on a week night. The server herself was a bit overwhelmed and could not engage at all, but in recognizing current staffing situations and observing her 7 or 8 tables at one time, I completely understand. One of the signature drinks was beautiful in presentation and tasted very nice too. For me, it is almost always wine after work, so I was able to order a nice table wine with fruit notes. For a family outing or for stopping for dinner just because, I think this is a good choice.

Best part of the meal was the appetizers. I got the ribeye and half of it was fat and grisly. (See pic). Tables sat dirty after customers left.floors were not swept either. Waitress was very good. It took me 10+ years to try this a 2nd time. Won’t be a 3rd!!

Food was excellent and large portions. Our server was attentive and friendly. This was our first visit to a Cheddar's but won't be the last

The Monte Cristo was the best food overall that we had here! The sweetness of the French toast breading and the raspberry preserves went so well with the smoked ham, smoked turkey and cheese! I would stop by here again!

I will start with a disclaimer stating all comments are of my own opinion. Please visit the establishment to form your own opinion.
Tonight's dinner consisted of Dijon Chicken and mushrooms with baked potato and cole slaw and the 14 Oz ribeye with fries and rice.
The ribeye was tasty. Well done on one side, and a nice medium rare on the other balanced out the doneness profile. Very little, if any gristle or fat leaving the entire steak enjoyable.
While the honey mustard glaze on the chicken was tasteful. The chicken itself had the consistency of rubber. I'm not a salter however the mushroom had the taste of a salt block to me. If your someone who enjoys salt, they may be perfect.
The price was on point and the service was ok. It was obvious the manager was doing two steps to everyone else's one.

Most of the time the food here is pretty good. The service is also very good, and the prices are fair. There's a good selection of meal choices, but I don't feel that anything is as good as it was before the pandemic. I still enjoy going here, and it's easy to find right off of I-83. If the food was as good as it was a year or two ago, I'd give them a 5 because I like the atmosphere and the service.

The food was delicious and very filling. The croissants are light and fluffy. The service was a little slow but that's to be expected now a days. Our waitress was very nice.

I really liked the atmosphere that was created, I think the décor was really classy. The service was just plain weird, it was very casual and I did not like it. The food was what you would expect at chain restaurant. Although I had chicken tenders and the breading on them was fabulous, it was buttermilk breading and it was not fried too crispy. Overall this place was "eh".

Decent value food but slow and weird service. My overall impression of this restaurant is they're projecting an upscale image with weird ceiling fans, stonework walls, and dark wood decor, so it's a surprise that menu prices are actually lower than other chain restaurants like Ruby Tuesday. So the food, at least, is a decent value and I was actually not disappointed with the taste either. Where everything fell apart for me was the service. It was very slow and the server seemed to disappear for long periods of time. When he did show up, he was polite, although his manner was very, very strange to me. Actually, they (the host, the food runner) all had strange affectations, so perhaps I'm just not used to Central Pennsylvania.

Great food and an amazing price!! Wonderful service. Can't wait to go again!

First time visit. I was visiting the area with friends, we thought we'd give Cheddars a try; food is fairly standard chain restaurant fare, was pretty good. Although, like most chains, they are a bit too heavy with the salt shaker for my liking. We arrived at a very busy lunch hour, but were seated promptly. The food arrived fairly fast. Service was efficient and friendly.

Friendly environment. Went here last weekend (Jan. 2013) and the staff has always been friendly the various times I've dined here. Prices are WONDERFUL! Everything I or my company has ordered has been tasty. Try the fish tacos! Everyone around us was ordered an appetizer of onion rings, piled high. Looked good, just never tried them myself yet. Great location right off Route 30 and Interstate 83. They should have signs on the highways so those traveling on 83 would noticed them listed as an eating establishment at the Route 30 exit....

I liked the place. Wow, after reading the other reviews it looks we timed our visit well, were seated in a good section of the restaurant, and somehow got good service and food. Lucky us, for we had simply spotted Cheddar’s while driving down US 30. We stopped in for lunch at lunchtime on a Saturday. It was busy but we were seated right away. I did not see any other empty tables in the section where we sat along a side of the restaurant lined with windows. I liked the use of bricks as part of the décor. We did not notice anything unusual or annoying with the noise level.

I ordered the Shepard’s Pie and found it to be delicious. It was served on a plate with the mashed potatoes in the middle and the beef mixture around the perimeter. Maybe not the proper way to construct/present this dish but it tasted very good and there was plenty of food, so I see no problem here. Another thing I liked? It only cost seven and a half bucks. My wife got the salmon. It looked pretty standard and was basically a good healthy lunch. She liked it.

Overall service was fine throughout the meal. To me this was a very good and popular place with inexpensive good food with good sized portions. Cheddar’s is located at US30 and I-83 at exit 21.

I've gotten take out from here once and it wasn't too bad, decided to give it a try and dine in the restaurant... Big mistake. We waited over an hour. By the time we were seated several items on the menu that myself and others in my party wanted to order, we were told they had run out. Strike one! Our food came out and half the dishes were cold. And they forgot to bring one of my sides which ended up coming out after I was almost done my meal. Strikes two and three! My husband ordered a pasta dish and I tried it. All I can say is yuck! It tasted like they douched it in a nacho cheese sauce straight out of a can. To top it off, like many others have said, the service is bad! And that folks is why I will not be visiting this establishment ever again.

Honestly if I read the reviews first I would not have gone to cheddars. But don't let other folks complaining about noise and a poor value keep you from eating at Cheddars. The food was great, the staff was friendly and they have very genorous portions. Its not fine dining but it is a family restaurant with delicious food
Sky
Sky. I ordered a Raspberry lemonade, the waiter returned to the table to report the "the machine got all messed up and the raspberry lemonade got contaminated" Then we ordered an appetizer, mozzarella sticks, nothing spectacular. The main meal I ordered was a cheeseburger, plain I specifically request no veggies, just cheese. I asked for fries with cheese, the waiter said "no we cant do that, you will have to order our Texas fries if you want cheese" I did not want Texas fries because I didnt want bacon and everything else that came with Texas fries. The fries are a separate order they do not come with the burger, no problem, until the waiter arrived 5 minutes later with a large plate of fries, "do you mind eating these first , they made them an hour too early" By the time my burger arrived which really was not a long wait, maybe 10 minutes, It was loaded with chopped onions, lettuce, mustard, tomatoes and pickles, I was going to return it, and didnt feel like waiting, so I proceeded to remake my dinner, removing all of the extras. The waiter returned and saw me doing this, and said "oh yeah sorry about that" I also was looking forward to eating homemade macaroni and cheese, I mean the place is called "cheddar's" afterall, sorry they don't have that either. The burger was actually pretty tasty, however not worth the hassle. The atmosphere was so loud (I was there at 1:30 on a Wednesday) that I could not hear the person sitting across from me. Prices were reasonable, but overall not impressed. I would have been more impressed and satisfierd had they made more of an effort to please the customer. To flat out say "no we can't do that" is poor customer service. I will not go back

Bad food, NOISE, low value, pay extra for "bread". Cheddars in York is perhaps the worst experience I have ever had with a restaurant. I spoke with the Manager and Assistant manager and received what I consider a poor response.

1). The place was terribly noisy, about the volume level of placing your ear next to a power motor. (70-90 decibels?) A one year old child (why do people do this?) was screaming at the table behind me-I shouted my order to the waitress and she to shouted back.

Then the entrees appeared: chicken pot pie for myself and lemon chicken with green beans, rice and corn for my guest. I asked for bread for my guest and was astonished to find (in my 70 plus years this never happened previously) that this restaurant has no bread other than the "croissant" that has corn syrup dripping from it (costs an additional $1.70) and is not remotely either bread or a croissant but is the consistency of a "gummy bear".

2). While my Chicken Pot Pie was equivalent of what Swanson prepares in the frozen food aisle of the grocery store, the lemon chicken dish was not. The beans were so overcooked they mushed together, the corn was off color and the rice so soggy it matched a wet mop in consistency. I tasted a bit of the geen beans and can honestly say they were worse than bad, they were disgusting.

At my request the assistant manager arrived and explained that "corporate" does not authorize bread of ANY sort so I guess they want you to additionally purchase the so called croissant . Good merchandising?

I asked for the manager, was told he was coming, but had to ask a second time and after a bit he arrived and explained that the dripping bit of mushiness was the sole bread in this establishment.

Bad food, terrible atmosphere, noise is really bad here, and if your restaurant serves you a biscuit or roll or slice of Wonder Bread, then stick with that restaurant, but don't expect it here. Oh, and when I got home, I got sick in the bathroom. What more can I say? Thanks Pete.

Got the ribs and shrimp combo. Ribs were overcooked and charred on the bottom. Shrimp were not cleaned well and were served over a bed of undercooked rice drowned in a teryaki sauce. Mashed potatoes were ok, as was the corn (although they forgot it at first). Atmosphere is pleasant and the building is clean and well maintained. Service was good (except for fogetting my corn and giving my husband the wrong salmon!).

Cheddars has a very reasonably priced menu. However, there is a fairly long wait to get in here any night of the week. We had stopped here several times and the wait was always over 45 minutes. We had the Texas cheese fries which were loaded with cheese and bacon. The salads are really very good. My chief complaint would be the poor service. We had the most in attentive waitress who took our order and came back only once or twice. Beside the poor service, the bar area where we were seated was extremely loud. I will probably give cheddars another try.

First thing first - when you read reviews on a restaurant, remember this: ten people can all go to the same restaurant, in the same time frame, and all have totally different experiences. Take all reviews with a grain of salt.

Short and sweet:
Pros ~ Wait was under 20 minutes, appetizer and drinks came within 5 minutes, food came 5 minutes later(wow!) and was spectacular, free refills on a selection of drinks, great server, great atmosphere, decent temperature, clean, great value.

Cons ~ No reservations, a bit crowded and noisy. Out of red velvet cake.

My boyfriend and I went on a Tuesday night around 7pm. We were gifted with a short wait, and an excellent waitress. Her name is Tasha - request her! We ordered the nachos with queso as our starter, and both had raspberry lemonades. They came within 5 minutes of ordering, and were excellent. Then we ordered our main courses - I got the chicken alfredo, and my boyfriend got a bacon cheeseburger. The food came out in 5 minutes!! We checked the food and both entrees were wholly cooked, not pink at all. On top of that, it tasted heavenly! The portions were huge, so we got half of the meals to go. But we wanted to satiate our sweet-tooth, so we both ordered the teeny 99c desserts, both of which were fantastic. We also ordered another meal to go for my mother at home. The bill came to a total of 34 dollars! Awesome value for 3 meals, two mini desserts, an appetizer, and two drinks.

Overall, this visit rocked. We will definitely be visiting again.

Saddened. We had tried a couple times before for dinner, but it was way to busy - over an hour wait time. So we tried our third time on a Sunday afternoon. A 30 minute wait time was much better. We were greated with a friendly smile, got seated with in that 30 minutes and had a really pleasant and attentive waitress (Melissa M). Our food came to us in a timely manner and was great. The only part that saddened us on our very first visit, was that they ran out of deserts, particularly thier Infamous Oven Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie. We would have given them an A rating, but they now get a B. I hope they look at this issue as it appears by other reviews this is not the first time. I did write to Cheddars to inform them of our dissatisfaction. Hopefully they will look into this and get it fixed before they close down as fast as they opened.

Cold everywhere. The ambient temperature of the restaurant was cold, right down to the entrees. The onion rings would have been delicious except theY were COLD!!! They forgot the salad dressing and the lemon for the tea. The chicken on the salad was hidden in sooo much batter (that was hard and dry) that I had to peel it off to even think of eating it. Not a good experience and would have to think long and hard before I would return.

QVC???. Went there last night to check it out for the first time and on the fence. When we arrived there was quite the crowd awaiting tables, but we were seated within an hour. Not bad considering its new and was a Friday. Our waitress was pretty cool and very open about the place and some of its "issues". I asked her why on earth a bar would have QVC on all but one of its TVs. Her response shocked me: apparently they do not control the TVs there, they come on daily at a set time. If this is true, someone at corporate needs smacked. When it came time to order we were informed that they ran out of ribs already. It was 630 in the evening! Again, we were told it happens every weekend, no ribs after 6-630. Wow, time to replace kitchen manager.

So I ordered the Steak and Tenders combo and she ordered the Chicken and Waffles. All in all the food was good, though the steak was a little dry (and extremely small).

Since the place has only been open for a few weeks, I am hoping they'll work out the kinks. I plan on going again in a month or so.
Haa
The food and prices were great but we must have gottin the worst waitress there. They only have 3 beers on draft and not much of a bottle selection. The food menu was also very limited.

Another restaurant that I visited with my grandma was a place called Cheddar's. It's a chain restaurant that just opened in Pennsylvania. When I got there, the first 2 things I noticed about it was that they had a very big, unusual looking fan in one of the rooms, and that they had a big fish tank that was in the middle of 2 rooms.
