It doesn't matter what you get here and the staff is amazing. From the sushi, kale cashew chicken salad, chicken sandwich or the Ruben you will be satisfied. The steak is on my list to try next time. Oh, and Don't forget the carrots cake or huge brownie hot fudge sundae. I Love this place!
The four of us had a bit of a wait since they don't take reservations, but the time passed quickly. For starters, we had two hors-d'oeuvres, the dip duo, and deviled eggs. For our main course, we had Ding's crispy chicken sandwich, the Honor burger, the steak, and bbq ribs. As always, the service and quality of food were impeccable. No dessert for us - we were too full! Can't recommend this restaurant enough.
My favorite dish tonight is the juicy and tender beef ribs, the Carolina sweet and smoky barbecue sauce is perfect with it. A side of slaw comes with, full of poppyseed that gives the slaw a different chew.
Save room for dessert and choose the banana pie!
Oh, don’t miss the pond with beautiful koi fish.

The salad was the best I think I have ever had. The beef was mouth watering tender. Others with us loved the burger and sandwich of the day. Service was excellent. Wish we lived closer.

Outstanding service (we sat in the bar area, at a table)- I asked for recommendation on the three sandwiches I was contemplating, and it was spot on. I chose the carnita pork sandwich, and I can’t remember the last time I had such an amazing combination of sweet, savory and tangy. This will be a must-stop for the future trips to Calistoga!

I had the Rainbow sushi roll - excellent. A glass of the Round Pond Sauvignon Blanc went well with it. The staff is always friendly and attentive . Great experience!
The shrimp louie is the best ever. I’m spoiled for all others. The staff is gracious, accommodating and all around pleasant. Love the ambiance both inside and out.

We came here for a late lunch, a little earlier than our reservation time, but we were seated promptly. We ordered the chicken meatballs, smoked salmon dip, deviled eggs, fried chicken sandwich for the DH and the prime rib sandwich for me. The food was good with the exception of the chicken meatballs. We felt the chicken meatballs were a miss and they had this curry finishing taste that we did not care for. Also, $12 for 2 meatballs was not a good value. we both loved the smoked salmon dip, ask for mire crackers, they will be glad to bring you more. The hubs loved the deviled eggs and his fried chicken sandwich. i liked my prime rib sandwich but fir $29, it should have come with fries. we had to order on the side. Overall, the food was good, the service was great. They are getting 4 stars for the meatballs and the lack of fries with the sandwich.
Extremely good. I’ve also been to the Newport and Santa Monica locations but this one is my favorite. This location serves sushi and it happens to be extremely good. Normally, I wouldn’t trust a place with both a burger and sushi on the same menu, but everything is fantastic. The ahi and traditional burgers are both A+ and I would highly recommend them both.
Arrived 30 min earlier than reservation time, glad they’re able to seat us. Service was excellent, our server was attentive and just a really nice person. She made our dining experience a memorable one. We’ve visited this restaurant and their sister restaurant Los Altos Grill many times before and food never fail to impress. A Napa Valley gem.
French fries are the best. Service was a bit slow. Water glasses were empty throughout the meal. Veggie club is great. Avoid the veggie sushi roll it’s just bleh. Cocktails are great.

R & D Kitchen is a regular stop of ours on trips to Yountville & Napa. I had the fortunate experience to dine there while it was the California Bar & Grill(also delicious). The staff at RD are always pleasant and professional! The atmosphere & decor are relaxing and not pretentious. The noise level is good. You can engage in conversation w/o straining. The kitchen noise from the dining area was non-existent. The booths are large and comfortable. The hand crafted cocktails never disappoint.
The Deviled Egg appetizer is a must if you're a fan! The French Fries that come w/ special seasoning & dip are the perfect amount of crispness.
The sushi dishes are delicious(heard first hand, I don't eat sushi)
All our dishes have never disappointed. The burgers cooked perfectly with great flavor. Chicken sandwiches are delicious. The salads are large and filling. The Newporter won't disappoint. Served with warm & moist chicken, mixed greens & large cashews. The Thai noodle salad was tasty with large pieces of avocado. It might be a tad spicy for some (just a little heat for me). You will fill up but save room for dessert and coffee! If you're a fan (or not) I recommend the carrot cake. Large slice of moist, delicious cake with raisins & full walnuts paired with a fresh stealing hot cup of coffee with steamed milk or espresso is the best way to finish off your dining experience (or an after dinner drink from the gorgeous bar while checking out their wine cooler! Cognac, brandy, or sip of Grand Marnier! ) Grab some koi food to feed the large koi outside. There is an outdoor sitting area as well with covered umbrella and heaters if needed. Reservations are definitely recommended, especially on weekends or large parties.

The Kale salad was light and completely refreshing. It had a great combination of sweet with a little heat. The sesame miso vinaigrette with cilantro mixed in was delicious! And the cabbage and green onions added just the right amount of crunch, along with the cashews.
The person that recommended the restaurant told us we had to get the Thai noodle salad. All I can say is "my oh my..." This was worth coming for. The items in this dish seem pretty eclectic (noodles, salad greens, carrots, chicken, chopped nuts, mango, avocado, tomato).
But it all works perfectly! And the Thai dressing with cilantro brings it all together.
If research and development produces this taste explosion, keep it up! When we return to Napa, we'll be repeating these two dishes- that good!
Came here on our way out of town. We got the fried chicken sandwich and the guacamole duo dip.
Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly! I had my dog with me too on the patio and it was just a wonderful ambiance.
Great place to stop after your bike ride. If you stay at Napa ride your bike to yountville and stop here they have outside sitting with a bar and limited menu, the I side sitting has a full menu.thwy also have a Koirala pond and if you ask the inside servers they give you a little cup with fish food. My son enjoyed feeding the fish
Wow! The Honor Burger was incredible! The Brussell Sprouts were a perfect starter! The Vibe and staff were amazing. I sat at the Bar and Matt took great care of everything. Thank you Sir. I came back and had El Cubano. Holy smokes it was great!
Very good food. Nice atmosphere, excellent service. One of the best carnitas sandwiches I’ve ever had. Deviled eggs were excellent.

Low lighting and ambiance abound. We sat inside. Patio is also great. You could go with more substantial meals or enjoying the small plate fare. We had a delicious peanut kale and hamachi sashimi salad, super tasty maguro tartare, and a tremendously unctuous polenta with chicken meatballs, and romesco sauce. Riesling and Cab were good. Love it there.

Great experience. We had a wonderful 12/31 lunch. We ordered a bunch of items. One dish that stood out was the crispy chicken sandwich that was so delicious ! Loved the spicy tuna roll and the rainbow roll and the honor burger were delicious as well. A highly recommended place !
I got the harimasa roll for my entrée. Also had the smoked trout dip for our appetizer and ice tea to drink. I thought the food tasted very fresh. The atmosphere was a little louder than I wanted. Service was great. The food came out very fast.

The Thai Steak Salad was so good! Not a crumb was left on our plates! The carrot cake definitely deserves an award! It’s the best I’ve ever had!
We came in for a quick drink/bite in between tastings. We cut it close in terms of time, but we sat at the bar and they met all our needs! We split the tuna tartare which was fantastic! All food options looked delicious and we would certainly come back.
