This place did not disappoint! The outdoor area was so beautiful and full of flowers and trees! The atmosphere was relaxed and the music was great. This is some of the best fried chicken I have ever had at a restaurant! It was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. The cornbread muffin was super moist and the Mac salad was delicious. I would recommend getting here early because it is popular and the table fill up quick. We cannot wait to come back!
The fried chicken was not that juicy, but well tasted. There are so many bees in the outdoor dining area recently. The should have one more person in the “order” house to help with beverage orders. That would definitely shorten the waiting time.
I’ve had dinner here a couple of times. I made a quick day trip to Napa and sat at the bar. It was great because you could pick an chose from the pre-fix menu which was perfect since I was traveling alone. Service was excellent and the food was amazing!
Very cute lunch spot! This is a more “budget” friendly way to enjoy some Thomas Keller food! The fried chicken is a must! It’s crunchy, juicy, so flavorful and well seasoned, perfectly complimented by the cornbread. It is absolutely worth the hype. The caviar w/ creme fraiche is also worth a try! Plus, you get a split of Schramberg blanc de blanc for a little less than what you pay inside Ad Hoc for just the caviar.
This place is definitely family friendly with some lawn games and space for kids to run around.
In early July, the garden was in full bloom. It was beautiful but there were a lot of bees. The staff was very friendly and the vibe was laid back and casual. My only suggestion would be to give the tables a good wipe. They were a bit dusty with some cobwebs but nothing that kept us from sitting down and enjoying our food.
A bucket of the buttermilk fried chicken is a great addition to your picnic in the Napa Valley. So Good!
Food:
Their fried chicken is their signature food. The ribs are also delicious! The Cole slaw is gross. The macaroni salad is okay. The corn bread is good. Could be a little bit sweeter. Make sure you bring your own water.
Service:
Service is okay. They hand you their food. They keep the area pretty clean. The food is delivered from the front building to the back.
Seating:
Lots of benches, but the place can get very pack. There is grass for picnic if you choose to sit on the ground.
Restroom:
Only 1 restroom, which is always a wait here. You can go down the street and use the public restroom.
Went here on a Friday around noon. There was a small line but it went very fast. The food also came out quickly. Outdoor seating only with music which was nice to enjoy on a warm day. Chicken was very moist even on white meat pieces. I’d certainly come back when given the chance.
Tasty and a bit salty. Online order through the website was hassle free and straightforward. We stopped by their entrance in our car and the host delivered the food to us around the promised time. I will come back for the fried chicken but I hope there'll be an option to request a less salty version. The "small" bucket had seven pieces and it was more than enough for 3 of us. Another person in our group got the lobster roll and they were pretty happy too!
Food came out quickly and there are lots of seating areas. The backyard is super cute. Fried chicken was good but nothing amazing (maybe I’ve heard so many good things about it that my expectations are too high - but I honestly prefer korean fried chicken). The corn bread was really good though, very light and cakey
It is exactly what the hype is all about.
Service - wad quick even though the line scared us a little at the beginning.
Location - nice outdoor space that has enough seating not requiring you to wait for long
Food - chicken sandwich and macaroni salad was some of the best I've ever tasted.
Only open during Summer where you can get a bucket of Thomas Keller fried chicken or some ribs. It's the best fried chicken in California.
The sides are pretty small and just okay. You go to Addendum to devour some amazing chicken and enjoy summer in Yountville.
Been wanting to go to this spot for awhile I heard the chicken was good and it is; moist throughout the meat and crispy. My friend and I brought own wine and a side dish along with the macaroni salad. Was this the best chicken I've ever had, not really but it's one of my top five definitely would recommend it, not just for the food but as a nice spot to get away from the city.
Part of me says this place is overrated as hell, given so many things in Napa are over-hyped and done by celebrities.
But part of it says the fried chicken is also legit good, and the vibe outside on a sunny and warm day on the picnic tables is very welcoming and comfortable.
This is easily some of the best fried chicken on the west coast, maybe even any coast. I've had this a few times now and its been consistently juicy with the perfect amount of crunch and seasoning, they've got this down to a science. The venue is beautiful and when the weather is nice, maybe the perfect picnic spot. It can get crowded at times so we often order our food in advance, but the crowds flow in and out pretty quickly. I can't recommend this place enough.
Beautiful places! The fried chicken is good!
Nice weather and great dining place.
Addendum is a bit pricey, but what isn't in Napa Valley? I will say that dollar for dollar it is about as good as it gets in the whole valley.
The crispy chicken and pulled pork sandwiches are paragons of their sandwich type and the Mac and cheese and cookies are just nuts.
If you are looking for lunch or something to soak up all that wine, go here... Then do it again for each day you are in Napa.
