I went here on Sunday with my Grandma. This place is just what Plumas/Center Street needed! The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. There was some cool artwork and they had on some great music (classic rock!). They also had boardgames for both children and adults, if you like to hang out and play boardgames.
My Grandma and I loved the coffee. Next time we will get some goodies, too. They have Brock's ice cream, Stephen's Farmhouse pie, assorted gluten free goodies, and other treats to accompany your drink or for your kids. I noticed a family come in and the young kids seemed to love it as well. This place seems great for all types of crowds and many different ages.
I definitely loved the music and my Grandma and I both loved that although you could hear the music, it was just "in the background" and not so loud that we couldn't hear each other, which has been an issue at some other coffee shops and restaurants I have been to. It is just a chill, relaxed place.
The guy that runs it also talked to us about artwork and what they had done to the place; he is super friendly and warm.
We will definitely be visiting again.
This place is amazing, has a great family coffee shop vibe. Has an outdoor patio and the best feature to me is the take one leave one book shelf. Just bring a book and trade it out for a new one. Very impressed and will definitely be back again to try their sweets! Definitely recommend!
Love this place!! Went there for trivia night, which was a blast. My drink was really good and I had my first cronut!! By the way, I recommend a warmed up cronut, mmm!! But best of all, the service was awesome. Definitely will be back!!!
I am not a coffee drinker. They do have non-coffee drinks! I had an excellent lemonade recently. On the food side I tried a cronut. It was heavenly!
As a non-coffee drinker I also dislike the smell, but it was not at all overpowering like it is at Starbucks. I love the atmosphere and decor of the place. I like that I could hear the light music in the background but it wasn't so loud that I had trouble hearing my conversation. So for a place that specializes in a product I'm not into, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I look forward to coming back for some pie and ice cream soon. Well done.
This place is a gem. Great baristas making artful drinks, perfectly balanced. Great cup of joe, and awesome lattes. Last visit I tried the French Toast Latte, I was amazed how perfectly prepared. I was afraid it would be overly sweet, not at all.
The staff is friendly and inviting. Comfortable.
I absolutely love a local coffee bar with great tea and coffee! Steele House provides a killer environment, super fun Friday night hang out. Highlights Northern California local artist. And my favorite Plum with Siagon cinnamon Tea!!! The owner Joe is a hands on super people person, everyone enjoys! Thankful he brought Steele House to our community, Lord knows we needed the flavor it brings in more ways then one
This place is great! Has great Wi-fi and a great and calm place to sit down and do homework. Coffee is very good too!
Went in to try the chai latte (always a hit or miss for me). They have the best one in town! Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. I well definitely be back!
A friend and I visited Steele House for a Sunday morning coffee date. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the coffee was amazing! I had a mexican mocha that came in an oversized super cool coffee mug, and the presentation was beautiful. They have these pastries called Cronuts that are to die for! They are blend of a croissant, and a donut. Amazing!!! I will definitely be back here very soon.
Love this place. Finally our town has a cool coffee shop. Yummy coffee and great people
There is such an amazing ambiance in this place! I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while now, and I finally had a free evening to make the drive. The service was so friendly, and the coffee was really good! I liked the unique items and flavors (had the French toast latte). I will definitely be coming back!
LOOK OUT STARBU#$&%*....... This place is SOOO awesome I cant even remember that other coffee shop's name now. Great Coffee, great services, GREAT price all that in a great nonpolitical atmosphere!!! Can't wait for the other Steele House Coffee locations world wide.......
Great place to get a cup of joe! Local art, great record and book selection. Thank you Steele house coffee for coming to Yuba City!
Super yummy/adorable coffee shop. I had the chai latte and my husband had a black/white mocha, both were super smooth and not too sweet. Great addition to Yuba
This place is pretty cool to hang out and have a coffee. They have books, games, and vinyls to play. The French Toast Latte is really good.
I own Instinctive Combat Arts (Martial Arts) down the street on Teegarden, and I usually stop by after class or office work on weekends.
Good and lot of costumers. Only 2 persons at the kitchen. Clean place and good environment.
They nerd out here, old vinyl playing on a real record player, have D&D nights and a live open mic night on Fridays!

I walked in and waited while the staff chatted and giggled. They we're too impressed with each other to bother with service. I looked at the menu board on the wall for a mile, then smiled and walked out. Nowhere is worth this kind of staff ego trip. Ambience zero m
The Gem in Yuba City! We travelled from Sacramento (45min) to experience Steel house LOCALLY owned coffee shop. The decor makes u feel at home with beautiful original art. They have vinals for sale and also have a huge selection of board and card games to choose from. They have home made muffins and banana breads and more. The coffee was great! Very friendly service. Many trivia events are held here. They even have a piano that can be played during certain hours of the day. Definitely worth the drive !
Good coffee. Friendly staff. Cool location. Comfy indoor area and cozy outdoor area. They play old vinyl on their stereo system and have really cool coasters shaped like NES cartidges and mini records. Very cool.
Was in town with the family and decided to visit Steele House Coffee Shop. We are coffee connoisseurs having visited numerous coffee shops all over northern California. Steele House did not disappoint, from their amazing ambience, to the sound of vinyl records playing (which you can change from their selections), board games, great staff and of course their amazing coffee! I highly recommend Steele House Coffee.
Ambience has a very organic jazzy vibe. A great place to relax and get your caffeine fix. I'm a matchaholic and know the difference between cheap and quality matcha.
Most coffee shops that offers matcha latte on their menu usually use cheap culinary grade matcha with sugar. But Steele House Coffee has created an original taste from a culinary grade matcha. The first sip tasted like soil. It wasn't very appetizing. After having several more sips, their matcha started to emit a nutty flavor of mocha. The original flavor grew on me since they didn't hide the bitterness from matcha with sugar as other cafe shops does. I only wished they embrace the grassy taste that comes with matcha. Over all experience was pleasing.
If you're a person looking for a matcha fix with an organic experience that tells a story through the drink, this place is for you.
This could have been a 4 stars but gave 3stars since no music was playing in the cafe as I sat there with a pale expression contemplating to ask the girl for her number 15ft away from me in this pandemic. A jazzy music playing in the background could have boosted my confidence. But I was too pathetic anyways. Other than that, Steele House Coffee is a great place.
Update: 4/23/21
Giving it a 4 star for a well rounded place with melody and style
Pleasant experience. Nice atmosphere.Friendly staff, and I interacted with the owner whom suggested the French Toast Latte for me since I like something slightly sweet.
Many weekly events, such as Monday Meet Up for local artist, and Crafters to sell their crafts, Trivia Tuesdays etc.
I look forward to my return visits!
