I don't know why I bother coming here. Seriously don't think I'll ever return. First, yes the Gumbo is pretty tasty but literally everything else is blah. Second, I decided to try the boudin links. They put it in a bowl with water and microwaved it. First one exploded and the second one came out rubbery and absolutely horrid. Both were inedible. Third, I used to get the gumbalaya bowl but every time the jambalaya part was gross and was never as good as it was the first time. They only thing that was done correctly, on my most current order, was I asked my rice to not be microwaved because usually they nuke it far too much and it just becomes mush. I don't think they get enough business after the lunch rush to keep a fresh supply of food because from what I've seen, its definitely not worth it if you don't get it within the first couple hours of being open.

Ordered to go. Mistake. I attempted on several occasions to engage the staff in conversation to get a feel for what kind of service I could expect. Nothing. No more than a yes or no for answers. Didn’t get my ranch dressing for my salad. I got no rice on my red beans. My wife did. Gumbo was a bowl of dark water with a couple of pieces of chicken in it. Just a very unpleasant experience.

Delicious food, Gumbo tastes like Gumbo Festival quality. $10+ after tax is why it’s not five star.

Gumbo is very good! Lots of chicken and sausage and seasoned perfectly! Also love pastalaya and roast w/rice and gravy!

I know young adults need jobs . But before you put a pretty green employees on a busy day they need a little more people skills . One guys hair was pretty long and he couldn't keep his hands out of it . Then those same hands were used to prepare food . Ordering from the lady was like pulling teeth . You can tell this is probably her first job which isn't her fault . She was very pleasant though . The jambalaya was good . The gumbo tasted like it had vinegar in it . Very unusual taste . I didn't eat but a bite . I have dined here several times and each time it's always something . Why do I keep going back you ask. Well the cornbread is really good .but this time they were out . And the jambalaya is good . My wife wanted pastalya . Guess what they were out . That happens a lot . Another couple came in to get a bucket and was turned away . To close to closing I guess . I do believe this is my last time . This place needs someone who cares about the place . The young man in the back with the baseball hat has been there a while but I just don't see anyone running the place . Get a manager .

Great Food, authentic recipes, good sweet tea and some of the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet! Make you feel like your eaten with family even if your alone! See somebody I know every time I walk through the door! Dang, it's jus' a good place to sit a spell! A good place to pick up a fork!

Their jambalaya is way too salty!! I've had their red beans before, which was very good, but they need to ease up on the salt for their namesake dish!!

New Menu Item "Catfish Amy". "Catfish Amy" is a new menu item that is amazing. Fresh fried catfish topped with a generous portion of creole crawfish topping that has a rich buttery flavor and just the right kick of cajun spice. Great menu item for Friday lent meals.

Great food!!. They have the best jambalaya and gumbo around! I am never disappointed! They also have the best potato salad and bread pudding! Friendly and fast service.

Not sure why they are so different from the other Jambalaya Shoppes in Baton Rouge but this one is horrible. Not the same.

My order was to go. A home cooked style meal, great value with impressive portions. Everything (gumbo, jambalya, crawfish pies, and white beans) was very good. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Will return soon.
