The reviews had us sold and then the food and friendly service just reconfirmed it all. The breakfast sausage was everything and they made a special Mickey Mouse pancake for the kiddo and she got to pick out a little toy car before we left :) Prices were affordable and we can’t wait to visit again

The only way it could taste more like homemade is if I cooked it myself but I could never match that breakfast sausage!! 🤤🤤🤤 Literally my favorite breakfast spot in the entire capital district! Just wish they were open later and had delivery! Food and service are always excellent!

Probably the best service and food I have had at a diner in a long time. Great prices and friendly wait staff and cook (Tom). Cook behind the counter historic diner. The omelette were both amazing and had flavorful ingredients like the bacon and sausage. Coffee was priced right. Whole link sausage included in the omelette. They do not skimp.

I have been going here for 22 years. This is what food is supposed to taste like. No one does it better in the Capital Region. Tommy is the best. Well done.

This repurchased rail car serves up some of the best grub this side of the Mississippi. The Beat-the-House breakfast special comes with 3 eggs, homestyle home fries, your choice of sausage links (the best I ever had), bacon, ham, or corn beef hash, and toast. It was absolutely delicious and I left delightfully satisfied. Rock on Danny boy!!!

Albany mainstay! No better breakfast in Albany hands down. Railcar style diner, home cooking, great people and atmosphere! A++ Highly recommended.

Why, oh why aren't there 10 stars available? How quickly the years have passed since our first visit to DP2? It seems like only yesterday that we first became acquainted with Donna, Tommy, Emmy and company. Now, all that time later, they're all as much part of our family as our own. The food is lovingly prepared before your very eyes on the flat-top by (most often) Donna or Tommy. Emmy, (whose signature burger bears her name) sits in many days as prep-cook, wait-staff and all-around diner expert. Be aware that there may be wait times as seating is limited in this splendid example of a vintage Worcester Lunch-Car Company (Google it!) dining car. It's a bit of a throwback with cash-only service, but providing you remember to bring some green, it only adds to its charm. They take a month's vacation every August. We count every hour of those days, until we can be welcomed again like family to the Sunday (or any other day) table.
