The staff at Magnolia 23 were super super nice. Always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered our food and 3 minutes later it was In front of us ! Very fast service . The food was good, the only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because the food was not unforgettable for me. I have had better soul food but I would come back here.
For a true delight of Southern foods made and prepared local - using families recipes handed down from generations, go dine with Don at Magnolia 23. The food is simply “mouth watering” good and as authentic as it comes to my mom and grandmother’s cooking. The ambiance is quaint and homey with plenty of outdoor seating weather providing. If you pass through Asheboro, NC do not miss this wonderful restaurant.
Exceptionally nice staff paired with delicious southern food. We tried the Meatloaf, BBQ and Chicken Pie as the main and 6 different sides. My favorites were the savory chicken pie and the juicy meatloaf. As for the sides, the coleslaw and the collard greens were my favorite as well.
Great little eat in or out country food restaurant! Waitresses were pleasant, the owner was personable. The owner came out to meet you and ask you if your food is OK.
Better than you can imagine. Welcoming. Comfy. Great staff. Excellent service. Dove on my plate. Got desserts. We traded. Persimmon pudding and apple pie.

Magnolia 23 is a quaint, eclectic place that has fantastic "home-cooked" food. The owner told me not to ask if he used pork in cooking because "that is home-cooking." Whatever he uses, it works.
A sign inside says they have been voted the 57th best fried chicken in the nation. My wife had that chicken, and she said it was the best she has ever had.
I had the fried pork chop, and it was also excellent. We both had vegetables that were hot, fresh, and fantastic.
We finished our meals with dessert. She had blackberry cobbler, and I had Hershey bar cake. Again, they were great.
One thing that sets apart Magnolia 23 is the owner. He is out and about meeting and talking with the guests. It adds a great personal touch that's missing in most places.
The menu changes daily and is posted on chalkboards throughout the restaurant. When something runs out, they simply erase it from the board. They offer outside dining as well; however, due to the weather, we chose to eat inside.
I think this is our new favorite place to go.

This is the perfect little home cook style place to eat. Fried chicken is great, haven't had potato salad like that since I was a kid. Service was great, owner walks around talking to everyone. Love the feel and the decor of the place. I would not change anything in this lovely little place. I will recommend this place to everyone. I loved the BBQ sauce, perfect flavor all around for all meats. Fabulous Job.
This place is an amazing local Gem. If you are in Asheboro make sure to add this to you food stop.

The owner is so welcoming!! He personally came over and greated us, and thanked us for choosing here to dine.
