My favourite spot in Austin for brunch, ended up staying here for a couple of hours and ordering more drinks and food. The burritos are great, staff are really friendly and engaging and the atmosphere is real nice. The front yard area is nice for a sunny morning as well. I decided to buy a Cenote shirt so I can rep it in Australia
Walking in you feel a little disconnected because it’s counter service when your order and the drinks are serviced to a pick up window and the food is delivered to your table. I guess they save on servers or servers tips maybe but seems a little broken as a warm way to be served. Breaks up the idea of sitting and taking in the atmosphere, reviewing the menu then ordering as standard goes. You walk in and are welcomed nevertheless then order and seat yourself. Drinks are called to the service window but then a suggestion of how to consume is a nice touch as the seasonal mimosas go. The food once delivered is actually well beyond expectations. Had a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito. The chorizo was fantastic and the burrito served with a salsa. BEC had plenty of egg and a side of spicy mayo which is nice compared to normal offerings. Overall, a great experience but just an outside the normal ordering process as expected. Plenty of room inside and out. Even though it’s very hot in the summer for outside in my opinion. Worth a try if you want a solid value and delicious quick breakfast in Austin.
First time visiting on a Monday morning. It wasn't too busy but still bustling for a Monday. Outdoor seating is nice with lots of shade and big fans. There are no issues with flies. You order at the counter, and they bring the food to you, no waiter service.
The food was pretty tasty. We tried the Hatch burger w fries, traditional American breakfast, vegan tacos, tortilla soup, and avocado toast. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The vegan tacos were so stuffed that they needed a second tortilla. We also ordered chai tea, matcha, lemonade, and a coffee. The total bill was around $65.
Overall, we'd eat here again, but I'm not sure it would be worth a long wait.
I understand now why reviews state not to walk around the area. It was a bit sketchy and parking was difficult.
No kids' meals either, which is why I deducted a star. I don't see any reason not to offer some sort of kid option, considering they even have a small "kid" play area.
