Had a great pastrami Reuben, the Bud was cold, the live music was entertaining, not over powering and the surroundings reminded me of the hippy joints back in the 60's my dad warned me about. The patrons were laid back, most wore flip flops I noticed and if a sandwich place can be the embodiment of Austin's counter culture, this is it. The owner or manager came by my table and asked how everything was and actually seemed interested in my response. Definitely worth taking a gamble on.
I love this place. The Avocado Reuben is fantastic - and my favorite soup is the clam chowder -it's dairy and gluten free and so delicious. The gluten free cookies are to die for - moist and chewy.
AND the Deli features live music Mon - Sat and some Sunday afternoons too. You can bring the kids - it's family friendly.
This is my favorite place to grab lunch, without question. The best sandwiches and soups anywhere. The best Reuben sandwich on the planet. Dang I just got hungry thinking about it.
